The host was excellent and was very helpful in getting reservation for activities. The road up to the house was very steep and narrow. The pool was warm. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, blender, toaster, 6 burner gas stove. There was a microwave that didnt work. There were no spices, salt, pepper etc.
Very enjoyable stay for our family of four. The beauty of the ocean view and the pool / rancho area are understated by the photos online. The views of the ocean and marina are really amazing, especially at sunset. The sitting area around the pool is very inviting and made us want to stay there rather than deal with the packed crowds/streets of Manuel Antonio. Marta was very helpful with all matters of planning and local tour info.
My boyfriend and I stayed 4 nights at Casa Pargo. Our first 3 nights were spent in El Rancho and our last night was in La Vista. We liked what we saw on their profile and were excited to see some good ocean views but we were not prepared for HOW good. Simply put, the beauty of Casa Pargo stopped us in our tracks. We felt instantly at home when Douglas greeted us upon arrival: "Welcome to my country!" And we saw our first room. It had a private balcony with the best view of nature and the ocean. Nature was surprisingly close when we woke up the first day to the monkeys hanging out on our balcony! Heading down every morning to take a swim in the refreshing pool or to read in the hammock was perfect for me. We did an activity almost every day and as soon as we departed for the day, I would already start looking forward to returning home. That's weird for me because I'm not a homebody at all. I'm bent on adventure, so for Casa Pargo to be the favorite part of my stay in Costa Rica, that says a lot about how wonderful it is! Every person we met that was also staying there were very cool, down to earth people. We made a big dinner with all the flats on our last night and Marta and Douglas were nice enough to let us use their grill by the pool. To share a table with people from all over the world was an unforgettable experience. All thanks to Casa Pargo! Thank you for an amazing experience! We will recommend you to anyone!
Casa Pargo is a beautiful property, with a gorgeous view, and laid back vibe. It's not just an Airbnb because it so has a communal bar where u can purchase ice cold beer and meet the other people who are staying there. The pool is the perfect temperature and great for relaxing and chatting! The monkey sightings made Casa Pargo an unforgettable experience. Douglas was nice enough to give us bananas to feed the squirrel monkeys that come right to your hand to grab the food! We stayed in the "La Vista" apt which was comfy, has a great shower, and a well equipped kitchen. We even had a parking spot for our car! A car is a necessity when staying at Casa Pargo, where u can easily reach Manuel Antonio in 15min or the Quepos Marina just right down the hill!!
My husband and I stayed in this marvelous location for 3 nights in March 2015. After a warm welcome, we settled into our apartment quickly to enjoy our stay. The location is the thing that captured our enthusiam most. Perched somewhat up the hill with a beautiful garden and small pool to cool off during the day, this was a piece of paradise. The garden was filled with birds that could easily be watched. When noted that I was interested in the birds, Marta immediately split up a plaintain and mounted them on a shelf in a shrub to attract the birds even more readily. With a little luck, monkeys passsed through on one morning, too. We had a great stay, everything was functional and comfortable and we would drop by again on any future journey to the central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

About the Host, Marta And Douglas
I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful.
I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
