Sehr nette Menschen, ein schönes Haus mit tollem Seminarraum und gutem vegetarischen Essen...
We really enjoyed our stay at the Alpen Retreat. We stayed for a week with three boys, mainly for skiing and to enjoy the mountains.
All of the hosts made us all feel really welcome and the boys loved hearing about their experiences. They couldn't have been more helpful. We felt comfortable sharing the living space and especially the cosy stube. The hosts were from different countries Australia, England, France, Germany, USA and New Zealand and were interesting, fun and helpful, all very lovely and felt sad we would not see them again.
We had the breakfast and vegetarian evening meals most days and the food was tasty and very healthy. The Alpen Suite was spacious and comfortable - perfect for a family of four or five.
The Alpen retreat was 10-15 minutes drive from most of the ski resorts in the Zugspitze area and we found it a good base. The resorts are fairly small so it's good to travel between them for variety. If skiiing, try to arrive at the car parks before 10am, otherwise parking spaces can be hard to find.
Apart from the fantastic scenery, there isn't much to within walking distance, so a car is useful for getting around - unless you just want to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Very amazing and warm house! The Hosts are very nice and rooms are clean and special. The view from the room just like the postcard. It's really a good place to relax!
We stayed at the Alpen Retreat for 2 nights before the December holiday season. The home was very clean and the remodeling of the flooring and yoga studio was impressive. We were lucky enough to wake up to a dusting of snow after our first night there and hiked to the surrounding lakes and mountains. My girlfriends sister was under the weather during the trip and the "helpers" at the house were very accommodating, bringing tea and offering food up to the room while we were out exploring. The yoga culture of the home was a slightly unexpected but very welcoming aspect of our stay. It was also great to meet the helpers of various backgrounds in the common areas. Wolfgang was able to shuttle us from the train station and was extremely welcoming. Great place for a relaxing getaway especially if you enjoy the outdoors, quiet time, or yoga!
Eventhough we arrived after midnight they had already made the rooms for us and put some very cute signs on the floor so we can find our rooms. The rooms really feel like home. We felt very comfortable. The place is just amazing. We will be back again.
Everything was clean and comfortably furnished. The atmosphere was very friendly and we can imagine coming back to stay for a longer visit. The apartment was much larger than anticipated. The views were exceptional. Finding the location in the dark was slightly challenging but the instructions were very clear.
Location had made us look to stay here. We did search for something that was reasonable, within driving distance to Garmisch (30min) and Neuschwanstein (40min) and had a little more flair than just a Hotel.
What we found was a great location, very friendly people, good food and super clean rooms with very comfortable beds. We couldn't be happier that we where able to spend a few days at the Alpen Retreat! We can only recommend it!
