  • Vinnie & Kristine's place was amazing. Pretty airy and large for a SG apartment, located really close to the main train line running through town yet in a quiet, residential neighbourhood. Highly recommended!

  • Location, location, location! Perfectly located in an interesting neighbourhood, close to everything that you need. The house is spacious, comfortable, clean and has all the modern conveniences. We did not use the kitchen (why would you when many good eating places are in your doorsteps) but it is well equipped. The bed is comfortable and covered with 1000 threads counts cotton-blend linen, good quality stuff! :-)
The communication with Vinnie and Kristine has been easy. They always promptly answer any query that we had.
If one thing that may be a consideration for others is the fact that the building does not have an elevator, so if you have a big suitcase to carry it up to the apartment (the 4th floor), you will need some strength. For my husband and I, it is all worth the effort, though! We enjoyed our stay.

  • We can't recommend Tiong Bahru highly enough - it is a great place to stay and to experience another side of Singapore (one that is fast disappearing). It is full of great cafes and local street food and markets as well as bookshops and small parks. There are also a range of restaurants to suit all tastes and pocket sizes! We felt right at home immediately in Vinnie and Kristine's place and it is great to have a few days away and feel you are part of where you are staying rather than a short-term outsider. They helped to make our stay easy with lots of great information and advice too. We would definitely stay again!

  • We come to Singpore often and thought we knew it very well. Until we found the wonderful Tiong Bahru neighborhood. It's fun, it's eclectic, and the apartments have such character. Kristine and Vinnie's place is charming. Hope we can stay there again.

We're a friendly couple that have been living / traveling in Asia for over 3 years, after moving out from San Francisco. We'd also like to consider NYC home, but it's been a number of years since we lived across 3 boroughs. We're both in the tech industry and enjoy talking about pretty much anything. We've spent a year travelling around Asia and blogged about it on @UrbanHikers Now we have an awesome son, Rocco.
