The Space

Per the new requirement: Possession of a SF STR Registration Certificate (STR-(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) certifies that the registration certificate holder (Karen Cancino) has agreed to comply with the terms of the SF STR Residential Rental Ordinance (SF Adm Code Section 41A). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential Building, Housing, Fire, or other Code violations.

We are providing a private one bedroom, with bath, that looks out onto the garden. (Currently, the garden is being replanted following major work done on the exterior of the part of the house where the BnB is located.) The room is suitable for one or two people. This room has PRIVATE ENTRANCE so that you will not have to walk through the rest of the house to get to your room. You can come and go as you please! The walkway has motion detector lights for your safety. Access to the walkway and room are by keypad so you do not have to worry about losing keys.
The comfortable trundle bed can be used as ONE KING SIZE BED or TWO TWIN BEDS.
A refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven plus dinnerware are in the room so you can fix a quick quick breakfast or re-heat take-out dinner when you are too exhausted to eat out after a day of sightseeing! (And we do the dishes for you!) Complimentary coffee and/or tea are provided.
Divisadero Street is welcoming re-vitalization with new restaurants and shops appearing weekly. Waiting in line for a Bi-Rite ice cream cone or toast at The Mill frequently happens!
We are ideally located, with 3 bus lines within 2 blocks to downtown and other points of interest. And three others within walking distance.
There is parking on the street that is typically readily available but is limited to two hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 pm. Parking is free and readily available on weeknights and on weekends. However, if you are interested in using our driveway, we can provide a parking spot for $25/24hours.

Guest Access

Guests have complete privacy by entering directly into the accommodations through the French doors off the garden. They also have full use of the garden.

Interaction with Guests

We live in our house in which the private BnB is located. We greet our guests and leave them to enjoy San Francisco unless they seek us out to chat and/or need help.

The Neighborhood

We have been in our neighborhood for 40 years. It is in a perfect location to navigate around the city. We have a car but MUNI is ridden almost daily by one of us. It is quiet. We have small stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. We do rent out the driveway space for $25 per day for those guests who have cars.

Getting Around

We are so ideally located, almost in the center of the geographic city. Five major lines are within 4 blocks. For guests staying 3 or more days, a kiosk that sells Muni passes for 1, 3 ($26) or 7 ($35) days with on and off unlimited. If you wish, we can pick them up ahead of time for you. You can then reimburse us when you arrive.

Other Things to Note

We have a binder with relevant information, e.g. restaurants, public transportation. House Rules

We are very easy going people and welcome anyone who is respectful and considerate. Unfortunately, we do not accept guests with infants or children because the size of the room is not adequate.

A neighbor has requested that smoking not be done in the garden so essentially Casa Cancino is a smoke-free zone.

We try to recycle as much as possible and ask our guests to help us.
As you may be aware, California is experiencing a drought. We are trying to conserve water and would appreciate our guests helping us by turning off the water when brushing teeth or washing at the sink. And short showers really help conserve!
