Jasmine Guest Suite in Ubud

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Jalan Campuhan, Ubud, Bali 80571, Indonesia

The Space

A short walk along a narrow path away from the sounds of cars and motorbikes brings you to the magical, compound of Villa Semua Suka, which means "everybody likes'.
Jasmine Guest Suite is the ground floor level air-conditioned bedroom in the Villa with a king-size bed and one bathroom with outdoor and indoor showers. The bedroom looks out onto the pool and opens to an outdoor veranda, swimming pool, gazebo and garden, which are all part of your living area. You also have full access the rest of the downstairs area which includes a TV, DVD and iPod player and WiFi throughout the compound.
We only rent out this part of our villa when we're traveling, and close off the upper bedroom.
The villa was completed 2 years ago to Western standards with a Balinese aesthetic, and was built on a former rice field. It has a fish pond and small waterfall, its own garden, outdoor loungers, umbrella, a table and 2 chairs and other comfortable chairs for relaxing.

Your stay at VSS includes a gourmet breakfast featuring our own house-made bread and jams, fresh fruit, choice of eggs, pancakes, and local specialties, plus great Balinese coffee! You'll be well taken care of by our staff led by Made' Pia. Made' can help with arrangements for day trips, rafting, downhill biking, cooking classes, et al.

The villa is located on a quiet walking path about 200 meters from the main road and is in a small neighborhood where you will pass ex-pats, local Balinese and villas for tourists. You will not see or hear motorbikes or cars up here. Less than 5 minutes walk down the path is an excellent Yoga studio, 4 small, local restaurants and a large supermarket. A few more minutes walk you will find some wonderful massage spas.

You have, in the Jasmine Suite the quiet of the village of Penestanan and the convenience of being just a 20 minute walk from the town of Ubud, where you can find many excellent restaurants, museums, galleries and shopping fun!
The whole house or entire property is also available for rent for large parties.

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is really unique in that it is set in a quiet, rural area, but close to all the amenities that Ubud has to offer. We have many restaurants in our area, a great yoga studio, a western styled supermarket and shops.
We share the area with Balinese who live all around us as well as other travelers and ex-pats.

  • What a little oasis Bungalow Jepun is! Set high up on the ridge in the mountain air, through tiny little alleys that lead you to all sorts of wonderful surprises. Our stay here was just perfect. Thankyou Pia for your delicious homemade bread, jams and cookies and for looking after us so well. The bungalow is just gorgeous and everything you need has been thought of. I would highly recommend this to any traveller who wants to be nestled just on the outskirts of Ubud for a bit of peace and tranquillity, yet still close enough to everything you need. Great little organic/raw/vegan cafes and a yoga centre are a mere stones throw away. Gratitude to all who make this special place what it is....a little piece of heaven. Many thanks, Alli & Greg

  • We had an awesome stay at Hyacinth House. Everything was so easy. The property is just so serene and the staff Pia and Ketut were very accommodating. We will stay again for sure.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Hyacinth house! Everything was as described and as shown in the pictures and better. The hosts were lovely and so were the ladies who cleaned the house and cooked us breakfast every day.

We loved being amongst the rice paddies, falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of nature. I could have stayed there forever and will definitely come back.

If you're looking for privacy, beautiful surroundings and a home away from home, this is your place.

  • Such a wonderful place to stay. A beautifully furnished home with such lovely warm vibe to it. You feel yourself relax the moment you step through the door. My room at the top was delightfully cool with the through breeze and although there was air con I didn't need it. Such great views of the sunrise. The breakfasts were a legend, all home made including bread and jams.
The location is a quiet secluded one, away from the noise and bustle of traffic so you really feel like you are getting away from it all.
Thank you BArbara and Henry for being such warm and helpful hosts....not forgetting Milo who's there to welcome you with tail wagging gusto!!
A tip for newbies - a torch is an essential.

  • Wow! We had such a lovely time here! The breakfast was AMAZING. We really didn't do much else here other than play in the waves and lounge on the couch overlooking the beach! Thank you to Ketut and Rai for looking after us so well!

  • Bungalow Jepun was lovely! It is exactly like you see in the photos, very peaceful and has all the comforts one would like.
Barbara and Henry were excellent hosts, always willing to offer advice and recommendations on whatever I needed. They really thought of everything, including loaning me a local mobile so I could easily make bookings, or use it to call them if I was ever stuck.
Barbara booked one of her drivers, Blue, to pick me up from the airport. He was waiting there when I arrived and made my journey to Ubud easy and enjoyable. He drove me back once my stay was over, and was also available for any day trips I wanted to go.
The surrounding area is beautiful and has everything one needs; cafe's, restaurants, supermarket, day spas, yoga classes and is within walking distance to Ubud centre.
I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful, easy experience. Absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again should I return.

  • We had the most amazing time at the Bungalow! We, now, feel like we have family in Ubud! Barbara, Henry, Pia, Ratna and Milo made the experience in Ubud for us!!! They were incredibly welcoming, told us the best things to do, and even gave us a cell phone to use while we are there. The villa is absolutely amazing and located in the perfect spot in Ubud. It is out of the chaos and tourism of the city, which we really appreciated. We cannot wait to come back and stay again :) If you are coming to Ubud, this is definitely the place to stay! Couldn't recommend any higher.

  • Our stay in Ubud in this wonderful home has been nothing short of thrilling! With morning swims, surrounded by tropical vegetation, followed by most delicious breakfasts, and short stroll to the paradise of Ubud, the whole stay certainly exceeded our expectations, and would certainly love to come back again soon.

  • Barbara and Henry were great hosts and gave us all the information we needed to have a great time in Ubud.
The Bungalow was beautifully furnished and we would highly recommend it.
Pia's breakfasts were delicious.(try her amazing black rice pudding!)

The location was great in the rice fields on the outskirts of Ubud. The area is so quiet and relaxing and only a short walk to nice cafes and shops nearby and It only took 10/15 mins to reach the town and all that Ubud has to offer.
    Hope to visit again soon

  • Staying at the Hibiscus guest suite with Barbara was great. The space is beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly, and the location is great. It's in a great neighborhood with no cars so you're very free to explore the rice paddies and surrounding shops (including massage places, art galleries, restaurants and more) and is about a 10 minute walk to the center of town. This was one of the highlights of my trip and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Ubud.

My husband and I have had a love affair with Bali for many years, buying our Villa Sunrise on the beach in 2004, opening an Indonesian furniture and art gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, organizing yoga and meditation retreats, and now having built our Villa in the ricefields of Ubud. Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun were built in 2011 to western standards with a Balinese esthetic. We have decorated the villa with high quality Balinese art, furniture and artifacts. Villa Sunrise, Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun are our 'homes' not 'hotels'........welcome Home!
