A wonderful stay. This 2 bedroom casita exceeded all of our expectations. Each room had private outdoor space, the kitchen was fully equipped allowing us to cook a New Year's Eve meal at home, including some fancy dishes. The beds were comfortable, the fireplace added warmth, and the radiant heat made the place a perfect temperature. As for location, it was a 15 minute walk to the Plaza but simultaneously in a very quiet prt of central Santa Fe. Every time we looked up a place we wanted to go to, it turned out to be less than a 15 minute walk. With Uber coming to town, this casita only became even more convenient. In addition, we were four people, who comfortably shared the casita and with one dedicated off street parking space and several more visitor spots, which never filled up, we each had off street parking. I highly recommend this place.
My family and I stayed at Steve's Santa Fe Casita for a week during the winter holidays. It was absolutely lovely! We loved being able to walk downtown (we're always happy to leave the car behind) and to groceries in the Villa Linda Mall just a few blocks away. The casita itself was super comfortable, with two cozy bedrooms, a fireplace, and a very well appointed kitchen. We even hosted a small Christmas eve cocktail party which everyone enjoyed. We had one small maintenance need (just a drip) and it was attended to with lightening speed. Steve was very easy to communicate with and always responsive. I recommend this casita wholeheartedly.
My wife and I have visited Santa Fe many times for more than thirty years and we feel this was our best experience yet. This casita is lovingly decorated and spacious with a large, well equipped, kitchen and bar that opens to the dining and living area. The private, shaded patio on the west allows late afternoon sun into the living room and sunset views of the sky. The location is in our favorite neighborhood, the quiet, near-west side of the center of town. It’s only 2-3 blocks to restaurants, 2 grocery stores (Sprouts Farmers Market and Albertson’s which also have wine and liquor), coffee shops, and movie theaters. One block away is Clafoutis, the superb French bakery serving the best treats for breakfast and lunch. The Lensic Performing Arts Center, Collected Works bookstore, and of course, the historic plaza and shopping are only a 10 to 15 minute easy walk away down West San Francisco Street. A multi-use concrete walking trail along Alameda is 2 blocks away and continues west across St. Francis Drive several miles for bicycles or walking. The casita has secure off street parking, but we only needed a car for adventures farther away from the center of the city.
Steve was a great help by email and phone and he had also arranged for a friendly, local management group to provide keys and any other assistance. We stayed a week during off season and were lucky to have sunny days and cool nights as the Aspen leaves were falling. We can’t imagine returning to Santa Fe without first checking availability of this fine casita.
The description and the pictures of Stephen's casita are very accurate. Maybe it's even nicer than the photos! Friend and I were there for the last week. The place is perfect for two couples or two friends as we were. Very quiet both inside and out (I could not hear the TV in the master bedroom in the other bedroom). As others have said in reviews, the kitchen is well-appointed with just about everything you could need (although we only ate breakfast there--too many restaurants in Santa Fe, too little time LOL). The temperature control was nice--never too cold or too warm. Parking place right out front. The cleaning service from Casas de Santa Fe was very good. Place was very clean. Stephen made sure to be in contact with me via email during my stay to make sure everything went well. He was always very responsive to questions I had before the trip. Oh yes, I walked back from the plaza yesterday on a very straight path down West San Francisco to Elena Street, and I think it took about 12 minutes--easy peasy. Easy drive to anywhere in town as well.
In short, I would recommend Santa Fe Casita to anyone. I think you'll be very happy with your choice.
This casita accommodation is just perfect for anyone wanting to be near the Plaza. It was extremely clean and comfortable and with best array of kitchen utensils (better than mine at home) The short walk to the Plaza made for easy access to tourist attractions. We did have an issue with a tv not working but Stephen helped us to correct this at the first available moment; excellent service! We were extremely delighted with this vacation casita and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Fe. We hope to return for a longer stay in the future and hope it will be available. 1 tip; book early!
This is the best stay we have had in Santa Fe! Renting Stephen's lovely home for the week simplified things so much. Being able to walk to the Plaza and other downtown Santa Fe areas with no worries and hassles about parking is reason enough to stay here. Staying in a beautifully appointed home in a quiet setting is icing on the cake! After a full day of walking and gallery viewing, or a day trip out of town, being able to come "home" in the late afternoon to relax with a glass of wine, yet still close enough to downtown to pop back out for a delicious meal at one of Santa Fe's many fantastic restaurants, is priceless! Stephen is a pleasure to work with. Very communicative and courteous. Hope to return again before too long!
We had a lovely time staying at the Santa Fe Casita. The house was a perfect size for two couples. It was nicely furnished with many authentic local touches. The location was great, an easy walk to the Plaza. Stephen was a courteous and considerate host and left us detailed guides on the various places to explore in and near Santa Fe. He also kept in touch with emails both before and during our stay to make sure we are doing fine. I would definitely consider staying here again/.
I'm a 67-year-old former Peace Corps Volunteer and current president of my own think tank in the field of long-term care financing. Home for me is Seattle, Washington. My Santa Fe, NM listing on AirBnB is a second home under local property managment. After you book with me directly, my local representative will make sure you are welcomed and your needs are met. I travel widely and I know what I like in a lodging--comfort, convenience, and ambiance--all of which I'm confident you'll find in this Santa Fe casita. I recently used AirBnB in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Both experiences were exceptional. I look forward to speaking with you and sharing my favorite restaurants and things to do in Santa Fe if you're interested.
