Donna is a great host. The rental was easy to find, park at, and get into. The unit was incredibly clean and had helpful signs and a guidebook. The location was easy to get to the beach and the town, so we walked everywhere. Donna's garden is beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck catching some sun and BBQing.
Donna was wonderful throughout the process of renting and staying in this lovely home, starting from the communication before the stay, to the bottle of wine left for me upon arrival, to chatting when I left. The house was a perfect little charming paradise in Tahoe! It is a quick walk to the beach, a short drive to tons of restaurants and other little towns and beaches around Tahoe, and a beautiful place to stay while there. I have no choice but to come back now because of how wonderful the hosts and the house were - and will gladly do so! :) Thank you guys so much!!!!
Great spot in Kings Beach. We loved the attention to detail and the fun eclectic feel of the house. Everything was well stocked, which was soooo nice when you need salt/pepper, oil, bags, etc. Location was awesome. I would 100% recommend this spot!
Very nice place. We enjoyed the yard and the beach (just down the hill!) Beautifully decorated and cozy house. The kitchen was well furnished. It's in a very quiet neighborhood. Next time we visit Lake Tahoe we'll try to stay there again.
Donna was absolutely wonderful! From beginning to end she was kind and helped my partner and I feel more at ease with our stay. The house was small & cute and the perfect cozy cabin to stay in for our weekend. My partner loved it (first time to Lake Tahoe for him) and we would definitely stay at this cabin again during our future trips to the Tahoe area. And the dogs loved it too! Thank you Donna :)
Our stay at Donna and John's cottage in Kings Beach was an absolute dream. I couldn't have asked for a more private, comfortable, and beautiful spot to recharge from the real world with my husband and dog.
The cottage itself is simply gorgeous and we were tempted to spend all of our three days just holed up there, enjoying the great kitchen, lounging in one of many cozy reading spots made even cozier by the efficient pellet stove, napping on the ridiculously comfortable bed, or meditating in one of the many outdoor areas perfect for just an activity.
In the end, we decided to venture outside to explore the hiking options just minutes away from the house and, oh man, were we in for a treat! I grew up in the Tahoe area and have done tons of hiking, yet have never been to the Crystal Bay Fire Lookout. A 10 min drive from the house, the Fire Lookout is an easy 15 min walk to the top and the views are simply extraordinary. From several lookouts, I could even convince myself that I just might be in Alaska. Several photos were taken...
The cottage is conveniently located mere blocks away from several restaurants, the beach, and Safeway, should you have forgotten that carton of milk or bottle of Champagne ;-)
Leaving was difficult, but we were comforted by the knowledge that we will certainly be returning in the future. A Kings Beach tradition has been established!
