I've already reviewed Lisa for her studio apartment, but this time I stayed in the main house with her. I'll say again that she's the sweetest, friendliest person you could ever care to meet, and she took pains to make the room comfy, piled high with blankets for the cold months! Good to know if you're planning to visit: you'll be sharing the home with Lisa, her two dogs, and her three cats, so if you're not a pet person, this is not the best place for you. The walls are also quite thin, so if you're a light sleeper, again, maybe not a good fit. That said, Lisa is super considerate, goes to bed early and wakes up at a totally reasonable hour, so I didn't have any trouble getting a full night's sleep in. Her bedroom is down the hall (so you don't have to feel awkward passing by her door if you come in late) and the bathroom is right across the hall from the guest bedroom, which again makes it easy to feel you're not disturbing your host when you get up to pee in the night. She'll likely press you to breakfast, and she is such a lovely person to talk to. It's like staying with a close friend. I enjoyed my stay with her very much, and she'll be my host of choice whenever I'm in Ashland.
The "cozy" little private room in this comfortable house was exactly that. I felt very comfortable not just in my room but in the house in general. I felt like I was staying with a good friend - not just renting a room. I was amazed by Lisa's remodel work and good taste. It was not "sterile"in a design sense.
Just a note - be sure you are okay with animals. All of her pets are well behaved. Personally, I loved her pets as I couldn't take any of mine on this trip and missed them.
You will not regret staying in this home.
I slept like a log with the sound of a fountain and rustling chickens! The rooms opens on a lovely little deck. I throughly enjoyed my stay with GG, as well as her wonderful dogs Madison and Frankie, and three cats (plus bunnies and the chickens!). So be aware you have multiple hosts!
