The flat looked absolutely stunning, beautiful interior and very nice big balcony, with a very nice view. All the furniture in the flat is beautiful, clean and well-kept.
Easy location to get to from the metro station and from the airport.
Paola was very nice and waited for us when we came and when we couldn't find the place from the bus stop she came to pick us up. Friendly and helpful!
Would definitely recommend to stay for someone who is looking for a place in a bit quieter, residential area - supermarket close, metro (Bologna) quick and easy way to get to central and all the sights.
Our Host, Paola was available by phone via text mostly. This was nice since we were traveling allot. Loved her house and especially the patio!! It was extremely spacious and clean! The neighborhood was nice too because it was within 5min from the train station and had some restaurants close by.
Paola was flexible with the last minute changes of checkin and checkout times so I really appreciated that.
HOWEVER, the air conditioner was not working, We were so uncomfortable during the day and night. When we asked her about it, she apologized and said she warned us about it and it could not be fixed until we leave. We were NEVER warned that we would be renting a house with no air conditioner. When I asked her when she told me about this, she did not answer my question. She advised us to sleep with the doors open, which did not provide any wind at all on some nights. I asked her for a fan and did not get a reply about that at all. We were there in the middle of summer so if you book this in the summer, please make sure to ask if Air Conditioner works. At times it was hotter in the house than outside.
Also, her directions to her apartment from the airport were not helpful at all. Her advise was to take the taxi which cost us 65euros. We later found out we could have taken the train and then walk 5min to the house. It was our first time in Italy so we had no clue about all of this.
There is also a language barrier at times. So it took a while to understand some things.
It was my first time using airBNB but on this trip alone, I used two other airBNB places and I was happy with them.
Overall, beautiful home but the air conditioner and the lack of communication at times made it not too pleasant of a stay.
Hostess was very helpful and her flat was cozy and full of art and history. It was truly a unique experience staying in such an elegant place.
It was a wonderful surprise to find an elevator in the building when the apartment is on the top floor. It has beautiful wrap around balcony full of lush plants and flowers. The living room and both bedrooms have doors to the balcony. There are also two bathrooms, which was a great treat too when there are multiple people getting ready in the morning.
While street parking may be safe there, it is hard to find a spot. We parked 10 blocks away. We agree with most that parking outside town and using public transportation is the best idea for Rome.
Paula was greatly helpful. Full marks and praise to her. The Aparment is comfortable with a nice terrace. We would recommend this apartment to all.
The location of this apartment is superb. The area includes almost everything one might need including supermarkets, restaurants, take outs and bars. Slightly further afield on the roads branching off from the square are various other stores as may be required. And importantly good public transport including the metro. The only thing to note re. the street it is on is that it is barred except for resident parking so can only be access on foot, cars having to stay/stop outside.
The apartment itself was lovely with a most wonderful terrace/balcony which was used most of the time due to the sun on it nearly all day; also it allowed smoking outside though mind you the weather was good except for a couple of days. The rooms are all nice, well furnished and of a good size including the kitchen.
The host, Paola, was there to greet me, hand over the keys, show me around, show where things were and importantly provide WiFi access. We had a bit of a chat, she gave me a telephone number to call in emergency and thereafter she left me to get on with things myself which was very much appreciated.
Important to note is that she has provided far, far more than is listed. A great coffee machine, all sorts of food provisions including milk and other such items in the fridge. Were other guests into breakfasts then I'm guessing everything needed was there as well as a whole host of other provisions for meals. Indeed I myself didn't check enough initially because I was not expecting such abundance, had thought there would be the bare necessities for a first night but am convinced almost everything needed/basic was there, enough to cover a reasonable length stay. As such she is a good host. Most thoughtful, certainly considerate of needs, very understanding to ensure a comfortable stay. Note too bed linen and towels provide. Also cleaning materials were these required, certainly used by me given a long-ish stay.
I personally really enjoyed my stay, indeed wish I had stayed longer. The terrace/balcony was a major attraction. Just being able to sit out there and absorb the sun while listening to the surrounding sounds was a wonderful experience. Personally I am hoping to make a return visit next year.
This was my second time at the appartment this year ( the first was at january ) and it was again wonderfull .
i love the appartment and felt like comming home.
paola is the perfect host.i will be back again.
Good location - 10/15 minutes on the metro into the central areas.
Good shops locally - supermarkets etc.
Quiet - you can hear transport but no neighbours or residential noise.
Roof terrace was lovely for the evenings.
As a previous reviewer said, there are LOTS of "nick nacks" and antiques all over the apartment, whilst they looked lovely it just wasn't very practical. We were forever worrying we would bump into something, particularly with a 2 year old!
Not much storage space - we stayed for 10 days but mainly lived out of the suitcase as there wasn't much space to put clothes away.
Electrics are a bit unreliable...We didn't use any of the large appliances but every morning when we turned the kettle on the electrics would trip.
The shower cubicle is tiny (if this sort of thing bothers you!)
Overall it was an okay apartment, as a family with a toddler we didn't find it the most practical or comfortable. It's lovely to look at and almost like an antique show home, as a holiday home where you want to unwind it's maybe not the best idea.
Paola was always willing to help, there was some miscommunication on the last day where she turned up a lot earlier than we had agreed, but she was always willing to help through out the stay and kept in touch to see how everything was.
