This is a for a 1 bedroom- 1 bath apartment above (what used to be) the garage and is now the Studio at SOCO. We are located one block off of Congress. Located in 78704, this is very close to Hotel San Jose and Kimber Modern and Saint Cecilia.
We have currently have this configured as two twins but with 30 minutes notice I can change it back to a King Size bed.
Kitchen, great Sitting area with couch that opens to a bed and large table with six chairs. Generally used as an office, we have it for guests or special events.
South Congress is full of restaurants to walk to including Perla's and Hop Doddy. We are a 4 block walk to Home Slice and Hey Cupcake.
You may not need to rent a car. There is a city bus that runs along South Congress and drops you off downtown. There are lots of Car2Gos in the neighborhood.
We have 2 Bikes you can rent/borrow. WIFI available for you to use.
We have electronic codes that we can set for your arrival if we are not home.
We have two small dogs that love to greet visitors and since they have a dog door entrance to the house, there is no way we can prevent them from running up to you. They are not threatening but like to follow you around.

Great friendly hosts with a beautiful house. All the amenities we needed plus an unbeatable location
It was a pleasure staying in the apartment above the studio. The apartment was spotless and had a great decor. Stephanie and Michael greeted us with their sweet dogs when we arrived and showed us around the property. They were kind to convert the two twin beds into a comfortable king size bed for Ben and I before we arrived and provided bicycles to use throughout our stay. We rented a car which was really not needed if we had planned to stay in the city, but we did spend one day exploring outside of Austin. Stephanie and Michael live in a GREAT location, one block from South Congress street- great mix of shops (boutique and vintage), restaurants (Hopdoddy and Homeslice had lines out the door) and great patio bars. We hope to make it back to Austin soon and would absolutely love to stay here again!
Stephanie was wonderful as was the place! We did not have a rental car and walked all over Austin from the apartment. You're right smack in the middle of the main strip of South Congress, so around the corner from lots of shopping and restaurants, and walkable to downtown as well.
The place itself was great. A great little kitchen to cook breakfast if you like. Simple, but decorated with a lot of lovely local art.
Stephanie was great! She took my friend and I on last minute and let us extend our stay, no problem. Very accommodating and a beautiful apartment! We had a great time in Austin, mostly because the apartment was in a great location and perfect for our needs. Thanks, Stephanie!
Stephanie and Michael have done a great job at transforming their space into a great guest house! There are tons of windows, great natural light, its clean, modern and comfortable. They've obviously put a lot of effort and thought into it. The shower is huge, there are tons of extra toiletries, a comfy bed, and cute little dogs to greet you at the gate. It's very quiet and peaceful, despite being just a couple of blocks from all the action on S. Congress. They took our reservation at the last second and saved us from a potentially nightmare stay at another location, so we are super grateful for that! We will definitely be booking it again for our future trips to Austin.
Really lovely place and lovely hosts. Had a wonderful stay here. highly recommended!
I had a magical week here. The apartment is beautifully kept, serene, convenient, and Michael and Stephanie have put everything you might need in it. It's in pretty much the perfect spot in Austin's coolest neighborhood. Michael and Stephanie were kindness itself, but never intrusive. Their dogs Chloe and Sophie were also adorable. Basically, I want to live in this apartment all the time...
I stayed at Michael's apartment while doing research at UT. The bus stop is just a block away from the apartment, and fifteen minutes later, I was at the university--no transfers necessary. Michael's apartment is exactly as it appears in the photos, and Michael is an excellent host. I enjoyed being right in the heart of South Congress, great food and people watching. Rent with confidence--this is a great place!
This was a nice spot in a neighborhood off of South Congress. The apartment is comfortable and clean. It is a short walk to great food and some fun shopping. We were able to bike to the outdoor lap pools and rowing clubs as well as Whole Foods. Michael and Stephanie were available and kind enough to provide their bikes for our exploring. We hope to return to this area and will be looking for their listing when we do!
This place was perfect for us and in the most ideal location! It was exactly as shown in the photos and close to all our favorite places. We had a great stay and Michael was helpful and accommodating.
We definitely would like to stay there again next time we're in Austin!
