Guest Access

Torrent Falls has a long and colorful history. Once home to the Adena Indians, they lived, farmed and hunted the land. In more recent history, the L. Park Hotel was built in 1890. This one of a kind landmark once boasted a suspended stage, a boardwalk dance floor, and an orchestra in the amphitheater. Now Torrent Falls is a cabin resort. With one of Kentucky’s tallest waterfalls and world class rock climbing out your back door, it’s a beautiful way to spend a vacation.

  • As a first timer using airbnb, my experience was pretty relaxing at the whip-poor-whill. It has all the amenities you need, so all you need is to just bring bring food for a bbq/or cook at the stove top if you like. My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much! :)

The place was tricky to find, luckily Craig helped guide us through the whole process as we got lost. My only concern was that, be wary that the phone reception/data when getting closer the area is low, (certain areas can only pick up reception) especially when needing to contact craig/wendy for directions.

    Response from Wendy & Craig:

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and you left with fond memories of Kentucky. That was actually the first time Craig had to drive somewhere to find lost guests. That is why, when I send directions to the cabins, I say to "print them up or save them to your phone because cell reception is spotty in the area and GPS directions are unreliable". Now that you know how to find us...don't be a stranger :-)

TO FUTURE GUESTS...when you book with us, I send you an email with very precise directions to find the cabins, including exact mileage and photos of where you turn. Please remember to print them up or save them to your phone. Cell reception is very spotty in the area and GPS directions are unreliable. However, if you do happen to find yourself lost, we are available to guide you here.

  • We had a great experience at the Wagon Wheel cabin! Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the A-frame style makes it very unique. We were able to meet Craig & Wendy, who were very friendly and helpful. There's a new small playground right next to the cabin that our kids really enjoyed, and hiking trails just steps from the cabin. The location can't be beat; just minutes away from Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. All in all a very fun and enjoyable time! Wish we had been able to stay longer than one night!

  • My husband and I stayed at the Couple's Corner for my birthday and to get some R & R from the kids and it was perfect! It's so cozy and cute and has everything you need. Nice balcony in the back and tub is great too! So nice of them to have plenty of fire wood at the fire pit so we didn't need to buy any. Very reasonably priced- I would defiantly go back again.

  • Home run! Our A-Frame stay was perfectly delightful. High up in the glorious mountain air, showered in sunlight by day and stars at night. The unit was exactly what my wife, my toddler daughter and I had hoped for, appointed with just what was needed. Precisely as described on airbnb.

Just as importantly, the hosts, Wendy & Craig were reliable, helpful, friendly, and not insane — a cheerful hardworking couple fulfilling the dream of a life shepherding and sheltering visitors to the RRG. It's hard for me to imagine these two doing anything else. Always available to answer questions, and offer suggestions, by phone, txt or in person … (including a mildly panicked "help, we're lost!" phone call from me from the ridge). The property is SO cool — our goal was to not leave at all and we nearly succeeded (except for insatiable craving for Miguel's pizza a 1/2 mi. down the road).

We'll definitely be visiting again (unless they become so popular that we can't get a reservation, which could happen, because they're awesome).

  • We had a great stay at A-Frame Cabin 5 and I would recommend it to explore and hike Red River Gorge area.

  • Had a great weekend at the Red thanks to Amy's cabin! The place was clean and in great shape and was great for sleeping as well as staying in for cozy nights. The drive from highway 11 to the cabin can be a little unnerving in the dark if you're unused to Kentucky backcountry, but I assure you; it's completely worth it. I fully recommend this cabin to anyone looking to visit the area, especially couples looking for a romantic getaway.

  • We had a great time and would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in spending some time away from the city.

  • A little difficult to find but well worth the hunt. Very pretty area and lots to do. The cabin was super cute and very clean. Would be very likely to visit again.

    October 2012
  • We had a wonderful stay at Amy's A Frame. We would recommend this place to others who desire quiet and getting away from it all.
