Mülheim is Colognes lagest Quarter, opposed to the city on the righthand side of the Rhine river. Orient meets occident in for of the famous Keupstrasse where many turkish shops and restaurants have established.

You have the river(banks) to hike, bike, skate, to the city or use a charming ferry. Streetartartist AxelVoid lived here and worked on the house facade.

But you are always just a hop away from the city center.

The space

I am renting out my complete apartment of aprox 50 sqm. with a small balcony. If you are a smoker I ask to only smoke on he balcony. I offer comfortable bed for two. I also have a sleeping sofa which has a harder mat race than the bed, just in case you find into soft (which I love) There is a loft character and no closed walls, so you have everything in one room, but it does not feel that way.
The bath tub is basically really in the center of the flat, unusual.... but I love it, you can watch outside the window, watch TV or the fire in the fireplace while taking a bath or just a shower

Because I am not in the apartment while I rent it, I can not provide a breakfast. But you have free access to all groceries in the kitchen, use what you like. I just ask if you finish whatever, please replace it or at least notify me when checking out.
If you like to relax in the 300l bathing tub in my apartment, which fits two people comfortably, you can light a romantic fire in the chimney or watch a romantic DVD ....

indoors Buddha keeps an eye on you and your health.

Guest access

My home is your castle. I love having guests and to be a guest. So you can open any drawer and closet if you need something and you are welcome to use from my food stocks, I would only ask to replace what you use.
Since the apartment is my home and I live on it I would like to pay respect to my belongings, as you would do with any other friend ...

If you like to use the fire place you can purchase the burning fluid upon arrival.

Interaction with guests

Since it is a one room flat I leave to you, we only will meet when I leave the key for you. You can call or text me any time. Two neighbors are also immediate partners to talk to

Other things to note

If you don't have any personal information in your profile and don't provide it in the request and you have no confirmed ID, I may consider not to take your request of renting my house. This is the base of the air bnb rental policy in my understanding

Torsten's apartment has a very unique (and creative) architecture, but at the same time, it is soothing. Each room was spotlessly clean. As Torsten mentioned on the airbnb, there is a big bath tub in the middle of the room. I initially thought this is a bit strange, but it actually works! Taking a bath in the tub was incredible, especially after you walked around the city all day. He also has a laundry machine in the kitchen, which was a huge help for me (I had only 5 days worth clothes in my luggage). However, the best part of my experience was his generosity and hospitality. Torsten explained a lot of details about his place. He also has a guest book so you can sit and read even after he left with key. He gave me a lot of good suggestions, things like how to get around the city, where to go, or what are awesome things to do in Cologne. As an example, he suggested me to climb up the huge Dom that is located in the heart of the city. He was very helpful when I need to know how to get to the airport at Dusseldorf. Getting around the big city without understanding the language can be hard, but Torsten made sure that I can do it comfortably on my own. There is one thing I should say - for people who are active and adventurous, and want to appreciate the generosity of local people, this is the perfect place for you. However, people who want to avoid some homework and language problem, staying hotel near by the Dom might be better.

Torsten is a fabulous host. His welcome binder is comprehensive and he continued to give us helpful tips through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) about how to use public transportation into town. The giant bathtub in the middle of the house is a huge draw (although we did not take baths only showers), and his decor is very stylish. The bed was comfortable and he left plenty of movies to watch if desired. In the area around the apartment was a lovely pizza place (pizza palazzo), and a brauhaus (gilden brauhaus) if you do not feel like venturing to the center of town to eat. To get to town it is about a 10 minute walk to Wiener Platz and then a 15 minute subway to Dom or wherever you might be going. Travel was easy although we happened to be in Köln during very rainy days. We loved our stay and recommend his quiet oasis to all travelers!

Great apartment in a very convenient location. Short travel to the city center, but far enough out to be in a quiet residential area. Torsten was a very helpful and good host. He gave good recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. The Rhein river was also just 2 minutes walk from the apartment!

Torsten's apartment is definitely unique. His decorations are elaborate and artistic, and you get a sense of host's personality via his home. Overall, he had good quality furniture and equipment, like sheepskin rugs and kitchen tools. He also provides plentiful goodies like shampoos, soaps, slippers, and pantry items. The star of the apartment is the GIANT bathtub in the middle of the apartment. It was nice to be able to soak and relax in the middle of our travels. We were a bit overwhelmed with the decorations at first, but the apartment definitely proved its worth. We spent more time at this apartment than we did at the other airbnbs we've used this trip. Overall has a San Francisco boho-chic apartment kind of feel. Not a bad distance from the tram, about a 9-minute walk and 25-minute commute from the city.

The apartment was fun and quirky. Chill vibes. Great space! The only complaint was that the mattress wasn't the most comfortable.

I am a Flight Attendant with Lufthansa for 17 years now and though settled in Cologne Germany I love to travel the world. I have found a great opportunity to live a couple months of the year in Rio de Janeiro and since 2016 I offer this apartment in AIR BnB too.

My education in alternative healing ( I am Heilpraktiker - a title of a Practicioner of alternative healing unique to Germany) leads me to a broad interest in body, soul, lifestyle, philosophy, arts. Everything is connected
