We will be pleased to offer clean & spacious accommodation in one of the town's nicest & greenest suburbs, called Namadi Heights, 10mn from the heart of the Capital.
Nearly every visitor to Fiji passes through Suva sooner or later & we will be pleased to offer clean & spacious accommodation in one of the town's nicest & greenest suburbs, called Namadi Heights.
It's actually a 3 bedroom house with an adjoining studio that's been made into a nice guest room; however you'll have free access to the living room, kitchen & all facilities: TV & DVD player, internet connection, landline phone for local calls, fully equipped kitchen & washing machine.
Because Suva doesn't have beaches (1hr 1/2 from our house), it often gets overlooked by overseas visitors, however it's a pretty pleasant town in its own right with the best market in Fiji, a scenic harbour, the sea wall, a national forest park (Colo-i-Suva) & ferries leaving for Savusavu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Ovalau & other islands. And of course all the usual shops, supermarkets, internet cafes, post office, banks & airline offices are also there, along with an abundance of different restaurants.
Susan & I (Peter) are from France & England & have dedicated our lives to conducting charity work in Fiji & a few other places. We have a registered charity called Pacific Outreach Fiji, of which the main purpose is to bring school & library books to donate in poor, village schools. However we also collect clothes, children's toys & some medical supplies, so if you have any spare items to donate, please bring them along! The income generated from your stay will also be going towards our charity work.
We'll be present at your stay.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Very quiet neighborhood near capital of Suva. Lovely private property with tropical garden ...including tropical fruits & fowers.
To get to our place from downtown Suva takes about 10 minutes by taxi & costs less than US$5. Alternatively you can take the local bus that goes by a rather long & circuitous route, taking 30 to 40 minutes, but costing less than $1! The bus stop is very close by to our house. There's a supermarket 10 minutes walk (uphill!) from our house, but otherwise local shops or restaurants at 5mn by car.
Private carport available for guest in closed property.
This place in Suva is a real gem! I stayed for three nights and enjoyed every single minute :-) I only got to meet Susan and her daughter as Peter was away travelling during my stay, and they both are very lovely and welcoming people! They invited me to watch a DVD, have breakfast with family friends and Susan told me about their charity work. It really felt like being home far away from home! Thank you Susan!
A great space in a quiet area that's only a short taxi ride to town. Peter and Susan are lovely hosts and we wish we had more time to get to know them.
Very comfortable room not too far from the town, Peter and Susan are very nice and helpful. Good place to stay in Suva !
The room was very nice, the bed was super comfortable! The small kitchen space shared with the bathroom was not very functional but they were happy for us to use the kitchen in the house. A nice patio area outside to sit in. Sadly we could not take advantage of it due to our busy schedule while there. Peter and Susan were very friendly and welcoming!
This was our first experience with airbnb and we were very impressed. Peter and Susan were gracious, friendly and lovely hosts. Their unit is large, cool and comes with a kitchenette and bathroom attached. We felt very comfortable there and were especially impressed that they'd stocked the fridge with bread, milk and other essentials on arrival. They also let us use their kitchen, invited us in for movies and generally made us feel very welcome indeed. We can't praise them highly enough!
Accommodation, service and company was good
I was warmly welcomed by my hosts on arrival even though it was late in the evening. I was shown around, offered a cup of coffee and after dinner being Saturday we watched a movie in their lounge room. Very congenial hosts and very helpful throughout my stay in Suva.
Emails may have been the cause of hiccup in my bookings but the staff at Airbnb have been very helpful and courteous throughout and I will be using them for future sojourn to faraway places.
I was extremely lucky to find Susan and Peter to host me while in Suva! They are absolutely wonderful people, who helped me tremendously. I had some visa related issues and without their help and support I could not have solve them. They were like a supporting family far from my real family. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with traditional Fijian designs, bathroom and kitchenette were clean and I found everything what I needed. Susan even took me to visit a primary school where we took school supplies which was an unforgettable experience. I hope I can return and visit them again in the future. I suggest them to everybody who plans to spend time in Suva!
Peter and Susan's Home is In the Suburbs of Suva with a wonderful view of the lush green valley they live in and a large front porch with its own outdoor living room. There Just a short taxi or a reasonable bus ride to town, personally, I loved taking the bus which was very frequent and just steps away from their home. The studio apartment is very private and it gave me a space to feel like it was my own. It felt great, to also be apart of the main house anytime I wanted and use the kitchen, dining room or living room of the main house, and I had my own kitchenette which was small but useable in the apt. They had just purchased a new mattress which is very comfortable, and the apt is very useable, I was there for 3 weeks and felt comfortable there. Both Peter and Susan were more than accommodating and were willing to help with anything that I needed to make my stay more comfortable.
The Town of Suva is a great place to go and explore, a National Museum, a great Craft Mart which is where i purchased most of my masks. sculptures and statues. Suva is very metropolitan and has most services of any town, I would come back to Suva anytime and Stay with Peter and Susan Again.
We stayed here for 6 nights in November 2012. Susan and Peter were great hosts, very helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely room with a shower room / kitchenette and had access to the living room, kitchen and outside seating area. They gave us some great tips about where to go in Suva and how to get about. We would certainly recommend them for future visits to Fiji!
