Located in the municipality of Arico, Tenerife, is an old Canarian House, mid-19th century, which has been restored rigorously respecting the architectural style of the area. It is equipped with all the comforts.

The space

Here you have the agro tourism and rural house LAS VIGAS, in Arico municipality, Tenerife (Canary Islands)

This is an ancient canarian house (built in the middle of XIX century) and that was repaired taking care with the style and kind of houses placed in that zone of the Southeast of Tenerife island. It was built with volcanic tuff, typical of this area and popularly called “JABLE” or “TOSCA”. In this procedure was respected the morphology and old materials of the hole building.

The house is located 650 m above sea level in the farming district of La Florida approximately 7 km from Las Eras and Los Roques beach away. The building with a farm and other constructions was forgotten during more than 40 years till in the year 2006 we decided to buy it and building our dream. The property has stone yards and “jable” holes that nowadays are becoming leisure and rest area.

The name of the house “Las Vigas” comes from the place where is it located as, after the canary islands conquest, it was full of forest whose wood was taken to do wooden beams for house building.

The rural house has all facilities and comfort for its correct development and it is recently certified as organic farming by the Canarian Government. Now we are cultivating vineyards, canarian fruit trees and olive trees. At the same time the house is connected with the footpath of the area and we have created some itineraries related with water and “jable” culture (in the manor there is also an old neglected water gallery). Another advantage of the house are the wonderful sights of the Fasnia and Arico municipalities coast and the hole landscape surrounding.

The house is made up by the following accommodations:

- Ground floor: furnished kitchen (where in the past were a bedroom), living room (old hall), hall (old bedroom), a toilet and storehouse with washing machine (old donkey stall).
- First floor: two bedrooms and a bathroom (old granary). Over the kitchen roof is located the solarium- balcony.

The ground floor and all the rooms are located around the stone courtyard that was respected in all its original morphology. The old kitchen was also rebuilt and now is as a barbecue area at our guests disposal also in the courtyard with another solarium over stone floor and douche and a bunk.

Gardens have local flowers and plants (some of them only found in this place) as well as medical and aromatic plants.

During those first months we have decided make an special price for all our guests who decided to stay more than 3 consecutive days with us.

We will keep you informed of all activities in the surroundings of the house (popular feasts, trips, gastronomic offers…). If you wish, you will be able to participate in the agricultural work and the rebuilding of the farm too. As a mark up we have to tell you that the owner is a geographer, in legacy, environment and rural development expert, so the stay in the RURAL HOUSE LAS VIGAS could be a good opportunity to met the legacy and nature of the island.

Pedro is a great host and amazing human being. He welcomed us when we arrived really late. He made us a surprise presenting us a bottle of his home made wine, fruits, vegetables, milk and some eggs from his mother. Pedro is very friendly person and he gave us really useful recommendations of where to go and what to visit. We felt really safe and taken care of. We highly recommend this amazing place and a great host.

What a fantastic stay. The host was perfect, from friendly hospitality to perfect comms. Even helped us to find the place and made sure we had everything. So many nice touches meant a really perfect stay for us the property itself is very special and unique. Such a nice change from typical played to stay... This was quiet and away from the normal tourism chaos. Perfect for relax.

Beautiful home in the mountains, stunning views from all the rooms and a lovely terrace to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun! Off the beaten track which is what we loved about it, peaceful and scenic! So hence would need car hire! (We only had a little Chevy Aveo and that was fine) Fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook meals and a barbecue house outside! Overall a wonderful peaceful stay, we look forward to returning!

A beautifully restored stone built Canarian house of which Pedro is rightly proud. Pedro was very kind and attentive during our stay which we found very welcoming. He met us at the main road to guide us to his house which was very thoughtful. The house was spotless, very well presented and equipped and full of character. We loved the kitchen area, breathtaking views at breakfast! Well located to explore the island of Tenerife - car essential. Views to the coast were stunning and the accommodation was very comfortable. Highly recommended if you seek peace, quiet, dark sky star spotting and nature coupled with stunning scenery.

We had the chance to spend 5 lovely days in Las Vigas and I couldn't recommend it more. The view from the house is just flawless, the place is incredibly quite, but still very easy to reach by car (no need for a 4x4 or a SUV). Pedro is the perfect host and helped us with a lot of very useful (and authentic) information. We'll surely stay here again in our next visit to Tenerife.

We hab a wonderful time in Arico. Pedro is a very accommodating host. A big fruit basket to welcome us and answeres to all of our questions. Everything expected us as described. We loved Casa Rural and the beautyful place in the mountains. Its a special place to keep calm and a very good starting point to hike. Hopefully we come back anytime. Pedro is the best host you can imagine! He met us at the highway to show us the road to his house in the hills and was anytime available for information and consulting. The house corresponds to the given description and has a great view. Unfortunately we could not enjoy it as the weather was pretty bad. We do thank Pedro for his hospitality and wish him and his family all the best!
