Quiet, friendly neighborhood located in between the Ocean and Mt Washington. Walking distance to a great hike up Burnt Meadow Mountain recently cut by the Appalachian Mountain Club.
The house has a unique historical feel dating back to the late 19th century. We are close to the Saco River, Burnt Meadow Pond and the Brownfield Bog. Nature abounds!
We are both artists and have a frameshop and gallery on the first floor. Please stop in while you are here. We have artwork throughout the house as well
Lovely spacious kitchen and bedrooms. We only stayed one night on the 2nd floor but it was very comfortable. It didn't take us long to drive from Portland to the house either. The only downside of the location was the lack of cell service but the wifi was great and fast.
We had a lovely stay. The house is charming, the hosts very attentive and communication was prompt. We would love to come back sometime soon.
Lovely accommodations. Great location near Stone Mountain Center and near a wonderful bog where we went snow shoeing. Didn't meet Rebecca but Brad was friendly and helpful. We'll be back I'm sure.
The Stone Mountain House was perfect for our stay. The colors were warm and inviting. The apartment had everything I needed to cook simple meals, stay warm and cozy, space to laugh, tickle, play games, and sleep comfortably!
In this skiing season, we live in the stone mountain house. The house is amazing, cozy and comfortable. All my friends love this house. The decorations are special, I find many stuff, such as books, light, painting, come from China, which make me at home. Rebecca and Brad are so nice and friendly. I am sure we would back again.
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a wonderful stay! So peaceful and comfortable. Very cosy. Lots to do near there - climbing, hiking and good restaurants nearby.
What a great house... lots of room, great for cooking, comfy, cozy, and artsy. A little off the beaten path but well worth any extra travel.
We'll definitely be back :)
Excellent place, best hosts ever! They didn't have a TV in our apartment and it was the final game of the Red Sox to go to the World Series, so we missed a TV and had to listen to the game on the radio. Other than that, absolutely perfect, comfortable and very quiet.
We absolutely loved staying at the Stone Mountain House! Rebecca and Brad could not have been nicer and more accommodating. They even invited us to a private concert that sadly we were not able to attend because we had to get back to Boston.
The apartment was cozy, colorful, and eclectic. They have a nice Art Gallery on the 1st floor, and there is some wonderful art hanging throughout the apartments on the upper floors. The place was spacious, clean, and as comfortable as can be.
We loved the cute town of Brownfield. It is in a remote area that is quite charming. There are also some great, hidden restaurant gems nearby, such as the 302 West Smokehouse and Tavern, where we listened to great blues music with the locals, while enjoying a fantastic bbq meal. It is also just 5 minutes from the famed Stone Mountain Arts Center.
We would certainly come back and stay at the Stone Mountain House again!
