Perfect location, fast internet, and very clean. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our trip to SF.
On a scale of 1 to 10, our stay here was an eleven! Elegant furnishings, ideal location, fantastic considerate hosts ... what more could you ask?
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the location to anyone. The owner was in the process of preparing the house for sale so there was some extra noise, but the owner was incredibly gracious and did their best to ensure our comfort.
Great stay ,,fantastic location on postcard street.. Gorgeous apt lovely lovely lovely
It was so great to have met you and shared living in that amazing home.

Staying at the Painted Lady is like staying in architectural history. The garden apartment comfortably sleeps four and is handy to public transport and restaurants. Betty S was the perfect host.
We loved our stay at the "Painted Lady" apartment. The home was beautiful and our apartment was very unique and accommodating for the four of us. We loved the location with Alamo Park, Haight-Ashbury, and Golden Gate Park all within walking distance! Betty was extremely helpful with pre check-in communication and Michael was informative and entertaining upon our arrival. Betty even took the extra effort to make sure everything was to our liking on our second day there. We would gladly stay there again!
I had a great stay at the Painted Lady. It was spacious, we all slept great every night, and the house is in a beautiful postcard-perfect neighborhood central to everything. Michael and Betty were available if we needed them, and Millie the dog was very very sweet. I will be recommending to all our friends visiting SF a look forward to coming back already!
I was looking forward to my stay at the Painted Lady, but was let down. There was a bit of charm, but if you're looking for new and contemporary this place isnt for you. The apartment was spacious, and had everything you need, but the pictures on the site were deceiving. The pictures were much nicer looking than the actual apartment, almost as if it was staged and decluttered beforehand. There was actually an additional bed in the living room and the furniture was much older than it looked in the pics. The carpet was also very worn and dingy looking. I had to re-wash the silverware and pots, as they didnt seem clean when I pulled them from the cabinets, and the glass kitchen table was cracked. There was a tv in the living room only but it was very small and had bad direct tv reception. The actual house is spectacular, but its old and you can hear through the walls. The hosts were very nice and accomodating, but overall I didnt feel like I got my money's worth. The $135/night on the site is also deceiving as I ended up paying nearly $200/night with extra fees from both airbnb and the host's cleaning fee. Lesson to take away: If you want a hotel experience, stay in a hotel.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
