This beautiful condominium is located one block up from the Malecon, which is the ocean boardwalk here in La Paz, and is tastefully decorated with a traditional yet contemporary Mexican style. With two bedrooms there's plenty of space for a couple or a small family.
The condominium has a fully equipped kitchen and a wide selection of nice plates, glasses and silverware for when you cook at home. For those of you wishing to escape cooking, as well as regular life at work, then do not worry as there are many fantastic restaurants only a short walk away.
There are views of the ocean from your living room which will draw you outside to explore each and every day. If you simply wish to relax inside for an evening, there is also a plasma TV and DVD player to keep you entertained.
If you wish to rent for a longer term internet can be connected for the condominium, with the second bedroom making an ideal office setup should you need to work from home.
My boyfriend Brad and I found our stay here convenient, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. We had everything we needed in this apartment in a lovely secure complex with friendly residents. I walked everywhere I wanted to go, the vehicle we bought with us was not required. Simon was very helpful and made the logistics easy and stress free. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!
My girlfriend and I spent five weeks in the "Economical Condo by the Malecón" while attending Spanish Language classes and really enjoyed it. The location is good, just a block and a half from the Malecón. Many restaurants, shops, the marina and beaches are within walking distance. There are a few mini marts close by (one just a block away), but larger grocery stores are a bit further - I think the closest one was about a mile away. We walked everywhere and did not find it to be a problem, but there are taxis and colectivos that could easily be used by those without their own vehicle as well.
Everything we needed for a comfortable, enjoyable stay was there - full kitchen including microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, fridge, pots, pans, dishes and utensils, flat screen TV with DVD, comfy sofa and love seat, dining table with 4 chairs, two bedrooms, WIFI (we paid a very reasonable extra amount to have the WIFI) and air conditioning. There are blue water views from the living room and the condo is situated so that it catches the breezes really well. We rarely needed the air conditioner. But then again, it was April, not July.
There were a few times (two or three in 5 weeks) that big speakers were set up on the Malecón for celebrations, but even though the sound was audible in the living room we were still able to sleep because one of the bedrooms in the back is more isolated. Just close the windows, shut the bedroom door and use the bedroom a/c if it's too warm. We slept very well doing that. But in each case, the noise stopped by 11pm or so anyway.
We found the area to be very safe, as we did La Paz in general. In 5 weeks we saw no trouble at all, even during several large celebrations (off-road motorcycle races ending at the Malecón, and the celebration of La Paz's 478th anniversary). The Malecón is not a wild party place such as you might see in Cabo or Cancun. When there are celebrations, it's usually entire families who turn out, not just young single people. If you are looking for the partying single scene, Cabo is a better bet. La Paz is more suited for the older crowd.
Simon was great. He was very responsive to our questions when we had them, and is just a friendly, enjoyable guy. THANKS SIMON!!
