This stunning blend of modern green design and repurposed 100 year redwood is the perfect base for all Sonoma county has to offer.

The Space

There are 4 artistically designed bedrooms each having their own unique feel and flavor and all accented with antique recovered stain glass windows from Europe. 2 of the bedrooms have full beds, 1 has a queen bed and the largest a king bed.

Wireless internet and a 60 inch television in the media area as well as a 42 inch television in the master bedroom are just a few of the amenities you will find along with a full size washer / dryer and a shower big enough for the whole family or friends.

The custom dining room table made for the house from a fallen old growth tree seats 8-10 comfortably and there are countless couches , comfy chairs and even an extra sleeping loft to curl up and read a book or have long talks.

There is a large wraparound deck accessed by one of 5 glass patio doors and a smaller deck that is the perfect perch to pick the yummy plums right off the tree.

The rate includes 9% occupancy tax.

Guest Access

Nestled in towering redwoods of Camp Meeker, with wineries galore a short drive away, Occidental with great restaurants and artisan shops less than 5 minutes away, Freestone with the famous Wild flour bakery (website hidden) and the Osmosis Japanese Spa(website hidden) just a few minutes further down the road .

Tomales Bay is a short drive as well for kajaking and fresh oysters (website hidden).

Bodega Bay and Jenner are also quaint little towns worthy of exploration as well as the many State and county beaches near by and our favorite place for a picnic ' grove of the old tress ' (website hidden) also just a short drive way .

Bring your bike , the area is home to some of the most picturesque road biking in the state as well as plenty of great mountain biking trails. The chef's kitchen comes fully stocked and besides visiting the many wineries of the area we recommend stoping by Andy's produce stand or Whole Foods
In Sebastopol for delicious local goodies.

Also just a Short drive away is another Sonoma county favorite Kozlowski farms (website hidden). Every Square inch of this tranquil retreat was designed with comfort and conservation in mind. We look forward to sharing it's beauty and serenity with you...

  • Justin and his team were absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with! Their communication is excellent. No question I had went unanswered, and they always got back to me that same day.
Although the outside of the property left much to be desired we were pleasantly suprised with the inside. Absolutely gorgeous interior with beautiful artistic touches that reflect a meditative and Zen like atmosphere. Beautiful hardwood flooring throughout that captured the beauty of the red woods outside the windows.Beds were both comfortable and spacious,we had 6 people in our party and everyone had more than enough space. The showers were HEAVEN like standing under you own private waterfall. Kitchen was a great open concept and well stocked with everything you needed. My family and I had a great experience at this property and would rent again!
Just a few tips for renters:
Make sure your first visit to the property is NOT at night. The house was a little farther from town than we expected and although we did expect it to be in a country like setting the darkness is absolute. Even with our brights on it was hard to see the streets and they are a non stop winding road, up a mountain side with sheer drop offs into the abyss ,not a challenge you want to take on at night lol

Parking was also a challenge.Although the property fits 8 only two large vehicles can fit comfortably in the designated parking space. We were able to squeeze three because our cars were smaller but there is No street parking and it took creative maneuvering :)
But as I said, with those small challenges at the end if the day it was AMAZING.
Nothing like being in nature to help restore and rejuvenate you.

  • We had a wonderful six month stay at Justin's peaceful forest home! The location is fantastic for exploring West County but if you prefer a meditative retreat, Justin has spared no detail here! He is very kind and easy to communicate with.

I can wax poetic about this beautiful place, so I'll highlight a few of our favorite things about it, that I think are of particular interest to other airbnb guests:

    1. The beds are comfortable and plentiful. This place is perfect for a trip with friends and family.

    2. The master shower is TRANSCENDENT. I'm not sure if the pictures do it justice, but you will without a doubt find it utterly delightful.

    3. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for cooking delicious meals from the Sonoma County harvest that you procure during the day. It is all very open and clean and airy. Perfect for chatting away and sipping some wine while you prepare your meals.

    4. There are many places to lounge inside and out. After your dinner, you can sit on the deck and look up at the millions of stars through the breaks in the Redwood trees or curl up on the giant bean bag with a friend.

    5. The internet is smoking fast. Do not let the rural location fool you. This was very important to us because we both work remotely from home. The internet here was faster than in many cities.

    6. The local businesses are really shining stars. DO go see the folks at Barley and Hops in town. Their selection is top notch as are the people who work there. DO go to Wildflour Bread in Freestone and stop in at Freestone Artisan Cheese. The Bohemian Market and Gonellas have most of the things you will need for a short stay and Sebastopol is just a short drive away. DO go to Underwood in Graton for cocktails and Meadowood for brunch. If you need a gift for a friend (or yourself) stop in at Hand Goods. If you're craving a burrito, grab one at El Mariachi.

    7. Trees, Sea, Sky and wildflowers! Take a drive up Coleman Valley Road to the coast. It is one of the most stunningly beautiful drives you will ever take. Drive north along the coast. Go see the harbor seals in Jenner and stop by the visitor's center (run by volunteers). Come back along the Russian River and if you have time go to Guerneville take a hike at Armstrong Woods (also mainly run by volunteers; The Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods). Eat at Boon.

Justin's home is a very special place. I wholeheartedly recommend him, as a gracious host and his space, as a memorable place to stay.

  • My second time here, and came with a new group of friends who all loved it. The place is just incredible. Tons of space, beautiful inside and out, open kitchen, and a perfect mix of luxury, comfort and cabin in the woods. Can't wait to go back for more.

  • We loved the house - furnishings, quirky light fixtures (everywhere), cozy feeling, surprising spaciousness, layout and the affordability. The only minor thing we missed having was a microwave. We highly recommend this house and definitely would go back if we're in the area.

  • We had the most wonderful week at Justin's beautiful house! There were seven of us and plenty of room for as much privacy and group interaction as wished. The bedrooms were lovely -- clean and welcoming ( including fresh flowers next to the beds and throughout the house) and we all slept really well because the mattresses were firm and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom next to the largest bedroom was a very popular feature of the house -- it was not only huge but really nicely set up with great bath products. We also loved the kitchen and dining set up -- we did a lot of cooking and found everything we needed there. Although it was warm the week we were there, the house stayed cool, a redwood-shaded sanctuary when we returned from our forays into Occidental, to the Marshall Store and for the basketball fiends among us, the hoops outside the Camp Meeker Post Office. We were also thrilled to discover a terrific running trail -- Occidental/Camp Meeker Road, which runs parallel to the Bohemian Highway.

In addition to having such a terrific time, we were impressed by Jason and his team's efficiency, responsiveness and just general kindness and good manners. When one of the drains seemed to be draining a little slowly, there was a rotor rooter guy at the door within the hour. When I asked if he knew where there were basketball hoops in the area, Justin did some research for us and had an answer incredibly quickly. And when I stupidly thought we were supposed to check out a day later than we'd booked, Jason handled the situation with graciousness and aplomb both with us and the guests we had inconvenienced. (Fortunately, they were understanding about the situation despite the fact that they'd had a long trip to Camp Meeker. I hope they had a nice stay once things got settled). It really is the case that you can tell what someone is like when the chips are down, and I have to say that Justin is a total mensch.

We cannot recommend the house and Justin's hospitality highly enough -- we're already looking forward to our next stay.

  • This home was perfect for my family of 3 and my friend's family of 3 to get together, relax, and have access to all of the great things in the Occidental area. We had 2 toddlers and I was pleasantly surprised to find just how kid friendly this home is --- all one level w/ no indoor stair, comfy (yet very stylish) furniture and the slots on the deck are close enough together that it was safe for the little ones. The four bedrooms are pseudo split up into 2 and 2 so we easily had each of the families in their respective areas for quiet naps and nighttime sleeping. The kitchen and overall house are bigger than the images convey. The showers were amazing and the kitchen has everything tastefully labeled. We will definitely be coming back! Be ready for the narrow 1-way drive to get to the home. We took quick day trips to Wildflour Bakery, Sonoma Coast State Park, The Birds Cafe, and Armstrong Redwoods Reserve. It truly was an amazing trip made so easy by a beautiful, comfortable home that was centrally located.

  • This place is perfect. We had such a great time, in a beautiful setting. The kitchen, deck, and the house decor makes you never want to leave. Plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing, or gather on the large deck (with outrageous views) or amazing kitchen table. Super clean, and the house offers everything you need/want. Also, head 5 minutes into town for an awesome Italian dinner at Union Hotel. And an organic grocery store 5 minutes away as well! The loft/reading nook that you can climb into is the coolest thing ever.
