This beautifully decorated bijoux studio apartment is a stone's throw away from the sea and is located in Pte. Aux Sel on Mahe. A perfect hideaway for two, it has been newly renovated and lovingly restored with an eclectic and rustic decor throughout.
Complete with a kitchenette, shower room & toilet and a large bedroom area, it also has air-conditioning.
The apartment has its own little veranda and garden at the front of the property which is walled in and there is a little gate that opens on to the road and right across the road is the sea. You can also enjoy the large shared tropical garden of the property grounds and find a perfect spot for a BBQ or a lazy afternoon shut eye.
There are a couple of beach spots within walking distance and the apartment is very close to Anse Royale beach and its crystal clear waters, at just 2 minutes drive or 15 - 20 minutes walk away. which is reputed for its clear waters and ideal swimming spot.
Pointe Aux Sel is on the East of Mahe and 4 km from the airport. We own our own boat charter so you are in the best hands if you want to do some fishing on your holiday.
Please note so that our guests are entirely informed when booking, that the apartment has a small veranda and small private garden at the front of the property and the ground is surrounded by a wall at the front of the small garden area which separates the property from the road, which is approximately 6 metres from the actual apartment.
It is a main road so you may hear some passing cars as well as the ocean. Each guest has a different sensitivity when it comes to hearing and we do not wish for our guests to be disappointed if they are looking for complete tranquility. Thank you.
We wanted to stay vor 6 nights, but for us it was not the right place. We wanted to have relaxing and silent Holidays. We didn' t read the announcement very carefully. The Studio is very near the street and so you could hear the heavy traffic every time. Also you need a car, because the sea is near but there are no beach. So we changed the place. We are sorry about that, but it was not our destination for relaxing holidays. We can't recommend this Studio. Otherwise we have to say, that Bruce was kind and helpful. He gave us support by car rental and some possibilities to change.
The studio was very clean and Bruce very friendly and helpful. Thanks for all! Because of the rich nature there were some geckos in the studio, but that was no problem. The Seychelles are simply amazing. It's a good decision to hire a car to see all the beatiful places :) I strongly recommend this place!
The place was great! The grounds were very relaxing and quiet. Bruce and his family were extremely welcoming and a joy to talk to and all communication was good leading to our arrival. We even decided to lengthen our stay and they were booked at the room we had so they gave us a different room on their grounds. The recommendations were also good, and we are so glad we did them, especially La Digue. The studio is across the street from a beach and within about a 20-30 minute walk from the gorgeous Anse Royale Beach. Although many things are close and could be reached by walking or via public bus, renting a car is recommended to explore further. Great place and great hosts! The close proximity to the road did not bother us and at night there was barely any traffic anyways.
Bruce and Brigitte were friendly and helpful and the Anse Royale is very close. On the Downside I have to say that the appartment is very close to the main road and particulary in the morning it is loud, the bed is really hard and WiFi is not available within the appartment.
We had a great time at Bruce's Place! Thanks again very much for making it all so easy for us! Brigitte was also very kind and did an awesome job!
The studio is great and it got everthing we needed during our stay! :D We chose to explore Mahé by bus and we don't regret our decision! There is a bus stop like a minute away and it brings you everywhere from Vicoria to Port Launay! If you want to go to the north of Mahé you have to change the bus i think at least once! But the ticket is only 5 rupees so... Of course a rental car would have been more convinient but the price was the KO argument! And it comes by rather frequently! The take away there is delicious but we think the guy fooled us... the lady there charged us less than he did! So watch out there! But it is still pretty cheap! In contrast to restaurants. If you want to save money always make it a take away and don't stay there. Sometimes it costs twice as much as when you stay at the restaurant to eat.
We enjoyed ourselfs very much! :)
We had a wonderful time in Mahé. The bungalow is tastefully decorated, spacy and comfortable. The fridge was filled with water, butter, marmelade and juice, when we arrived. The kitchen is well-equipped and the cleaning lady will also do the dish washing (!) or wash some of your laundry if needed. Swimming & sun bathing at the beach in front of the bungalow is due to the rocks, high & low tide not recommended. But hearing the sea and sound of the waves so close is really relaxing during the night. We rented a car to go around the island, which is in our opinion the best and easiest way to explore the island. Otherwise there is a bus stopp around the corner.
The road we read about, which can be a bit noisy didn´t bother us at all. A really bummer was, that next to our bungalow construction works were going on from 7:15am all day long. Nothing you really need on your dream holidays. Hammering, buzz sawing, boring all day long to build a new house - very annyoing. When we complained and told Bruce about this issue, he immediately called the owner of the house and arranged to begin at 8a.m. :(. Unfortunately they are allowed to work as loud as they want from that time on by law! Another point was the mattress, which was way too hard for us.
The owner, Bruce is a nice guy. If you have any questions he is willing to help you or will forward you to Brigitte. Brigitte is a GEM - it doesn´t matter what or on what time you contact her, she is always trying to help you with EVERYTHING. She is super friendly and easy to communicate with. We would have loved to meet her in person!
As there were some "important" soccer games going on during our stay, my husband was invited by the son of Bruce to join him watching the game. Saved his life ;-)
We would recommend this studio! The construction will hopefully be finished soon and maybe a new mattress makes it a dream destination without any downsides :-)
Bruce and his family made us feel very welcome. We loved the cosy studio and it's proximity to the beach. Would definitely return!
Mahe is a nice island with plenty sights to discover within 14 days.
Very easy to deal with the islanders. Wonderful beaches. Good Food. Chilled atmosphere. Not cheap. Just the nearby road was putting some shadows on paradise.
Great place, plenty of room and comfort. We traveled by bus, which stops around the corner every ten minutes. The road can be a bit noisy but that didn't really bother us. We found the mattress a bit too hard, but that is nothing to worry about. Would recommend this place.
This is indeed a gorgeous studio! It is tastefully decorated and holds everything you need, just as described. The road is indeed closeby, but it didn't bother us. The owners, Bruce and Caroline, were wonderful hosts and helped us with every question we had. We would definitely recommend this studio, especially if you are staying for more than a few days on Mahe.
