About this listing
Located in French Place neighborhood near campus and very central. Behind my house is a separate guest cottage, 1 bdrm, 1 bath cottage that has its own entrance and complete privacy.
Luxury shower, bamboo floors, queen sized bed, desk, WIFI, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Walk to coffee shop, grocery, liquor store and bus lines - all only two blocks away. I love to give tips on where to eat and what to see. I think you will find this a very charming spot to stay in Austin!
Not only is the cottage all your own with complete privacy and not attached, but I offer complete autonomy, if you will, for those of you coming in late or leaving early or whatever, I make it so that we don't have to coordinate schedules and anything works that you need. I will work with you on check in and out times according to the cottage's schedule, and have never had a problem. Most people love the ease of the place and how close it is to coffee shops, downtown, the Eastside's hip restaurants/nightlife, and the university. But, they also like that is in a neighborhood that's quiet and peaceful. Plus parking is plentiful on the street with no restrictions (which can be difficult in some areas of town).
We hope you will stay in the cottage and enjoy the best of Austin!
Interaction with Guests
I usually do not see my guests much, but am available to solve concerns if needed. I try to stay out of each other's way and am pretty busy with other things in my life.
Other Things to Note
The Operating License for Short Term Rentals is:
Smoking is only allowed outside, where an ash can is provided.
Sara's listing perfectly described the space and amenities. We arrived later in the evening and she had the key waiting for us.
Her cottage was a great staging place for our tour of Austin, and it's proximity to hwy 35 made traveling easier - from Barton Springs to Salt Lick.
Thank you, Sara!
This place is awesome! The host responds to any questions right away via text and works with you to schedule arrival/departure times. Very quiet and cozy.
Sara's cottage was perfect for our weekend! The directions helped us find our way in perfectly and at our own convenience, the place was clean and homely and the perfect size for a couple. The neighborhood is nice and conveniently located off of the highway. There was a super cute coffee shop called Cherrywood that we enjoyed and getting downtown was also easy. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this cute, cozy cottage!
The little cottage was clean and inviting when we arrived. The neighborhood is quiet and in a convenient location. We enjoyed the coffeehouse down the street. Overall, our stay was peaceful and private. We definitely recommend this place!
Everything about this spot was accurate. It was a short drive around town for the places we wanted to check out. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future.
Everything was lovely. This space was exactly what we we needed - it was close to downtown, allowed us privacy, and was well taken care.
The cottage is small but fine for one or two people maximum. It is private, peaceful and in a convenient location. We had a few questions once we arrived but communicated with Sara via text since she was out of town for the weekend. We missed having a TV or radio in the room since we were there during the flash floods and tornado warnings and really would have liked to hear weather updates! Appreciated Sara's willingness for us to bring our small dog with us. Nice yard and sitting area but unable to use it during our stay due to the terrible weather!

About the Host, Sara
I'm a native Austinite, but moved back after being gone for over ten years, via New York and California. I love all the things to do in Austin and love people to come share in the coolness of our town.
