This is the perfect location and a beautiful, large apartment with a comfortable bed! Each evening we would walk to a significant landmark: Pantheon, Fountain of Trevi; Piazza di Popolo, etc. Wonderful restaurants, including the excellent one downstairs! Antonino was great!
Antonino provodes excellent accommodation in via Ripetta, perfect position in the hearth of Rome. The flat is comfortable, clean and well kept. Antonino is a perfect host, very welcoming, always available for information and to solve whichever question or request. I strongly recommend this place, and I will certainly come back here myself.
We’ve had a 3 weeks trip to Italy and stayed at Antonino’s appartement for the first and the last week (the week in the middle we spent in Florence).
We’ve had mixed feelings. The main problem was Internet – during the last week the download speed was insufficient not just to download my working files or to have voice (website hidden) connection but even to open (website hidden) map. Antonino tried his best – he was in touch with his provider but it didn’t help. I’ve read a review where his guest experienced similar problems and I see now that this is a trend, not a coincidence. I was really frustrated as I specifically asked about stable Wi-Fi before booking and if I knew I wouldn’t dream of coming here!
The appartement is quite large, but to our mind it lacks coziness: very strange dim lighting – a lot of lamps but, as one guest mentioned, not enough light (probably because of a lack of simple ceiling chandeliers). On the other side of the street there was an architectural college and it so happened that all windows in front of our windows were windows of local closets (restrooms) with students constantly hanging and smoking on the windowsills and peering at you at daytime…
Soundproofness was not adequate. Antonino was very effective at calming the neighbors down (as sometimes in Italy the walls seemed to be made of paper). But the major problem was with windows. They simply didn’t block the sound from the bus stop (it was just at the entrance) and from 2 homeless who slept at the other side of the street. In fact with all windows shut I could easily hear when they just talked but when one of them (probably brainsick) began to shout at night – I jumped out of bed! And that was several times at nights! Some lunatics used to ring us via intercom from downstairs for the first 3 days at around 6.00 in the morning and my words “Get away! I wouldn’t open the door!” proved to have no effect – finally we used to hang the receiver from the main unit deactivating by that intercom at nights.
All in all - if you are travelling alone and staying in Rome for several days – it’s a perfect place to stay. If you are planning to live here for some considerable time and want cozy, calm appartement – look somewhere else!
P.S And if one of you is in shower DO NOT OPEN THE WATER IN A SINK – the person in shower will immediately get skin burns!

I'm sorry for the delays of the Internet connection, but as he said was limited to the last days, so I would like to clarify that everything is working normally, are problems that can happen to anyone and at any place of the world. In the past it happened but nearly 1 year and a half ago, the norm is that everything works is you can not predict the unexpected. Also it is not one thing I can manage problems are providers, which moreover I pay because everything works. If I had a crystal ball and ask me when there will be problems on the internet I could tell you the dates negative, but I'm not a magician. Since the ceiling is wood I avoided puncture it with chandeliers ceiling, however keep in mind your notes and take the floor lamps very powerful to enhance lighting. Even for the fool who cries at night or playing the telephones can not do anything, but I would like you to consider that we are at 14 meters from the road (see photo), the walls are 80 cm thick, the glass in the windows have a felling noise by 70%, you can also close the shutters outside (see photo), there are curtains in the windows (see photo), the bed is at 3-4 meters from the nearest window (see photo), each face their thoughts but maybe or you are used to complete silence or you have a hearing truly exceptional.
We had a great time in Antonino's place in Rome. I would highly recommend staying at his place. He was prompt and very responsive about our arrival procedure. FYI - the apartment is about a 10 minute walk to the closest metro station (Spagna), though a very pleasant one as you must go through the nicer shopping areas. The apartment has great lighting and is very airy. Very clean. It's on the 4th floor (ground floor + 3) so be prepared to climb steps! Also, the neighbors upstairs keep odd hours so we were woken up through the night by loud footsteps and what sounded like the moving of furniture. The bed itself left a bit to be desired, as the bed was hard and the pillows were rather flat. However, these are minor points and the overall experience was great at Antonino's.
Thank you for your review. As regards the latex mattress is of medium hardness, can not change to each guest. For pillows in addition to the modeled curves are the normal ones that I leave anyone AVAILABLE perhaps were not seen to be in the closet inside the room on the sofa. I remember however to ask me again for any reason.
The apartment was spacious, very bright and in perfect location, BUT only the bathroom was clean enough. The carpet in the living room was really dirty. We tried to clean it( which was not our job) but the vacuum cleaner was not working. The sheets of both beds were not ironed (unacceptable) so they looked as if they were used. There was dust everywhere. I wonder why we were charged 40 euros for cleaning.
The wooden ceiling is really nice looking, but if you sleep on the sofa, you hear every single step from the upper floor, so practically you can sleep only before they wake up. And they wake up before 7 o clock!
The lighting was inadequate for reading.
Finally we had a problem with garbage disposal. We put the non recyclable and the organic garbage in the appropriate collectors in the entrance of the building, but we did not find the ones for paper and plastic. The note said that it was opposite the building, but we could not find them. We asked in the bar, but they did not know either. So we gathered them in two bags in the entrance of the apartment, hoping the person who cleans will dispose them properly.
So summing up, the apartment is very nice, but it needs far more care from its owner.
I'm sorry that you are not satisfied with your stay, even if I do not understand why you have not contacted me. I have specifically asked to call for any reason, need, problem. I received showing the apartment, indicating that all the instructions are also written and hung in the kitchen, bathroom and living room in two languages (English and Italian), plus the lady spoke very well in Italian and then we had a conversation without problems language. My commitment is just to make your stay enjoyable, as well as prepare the scented candles, or movies in original language and satellite TV, or any instructions on where to eat, how to move, how to call a taxi, a map of the area with all the services most important neighbors, etc.. Returning to your review I wanted to point out that there are 2 vacuum cleaners and if anything, it did not work one of the more secure work, even if I do not understand what it was dirty because the vacuum cleaner has been passed to me personally, just even look at the feedback on the cleaning by me always carefully considered. As for the neighbors who make noise are guests like you, if everyone did care not to disturb certainly would be better, is not the fault of the owner. I also remember that in the living room there are 5 points of light in the room and 5 others, regardless of bathroom, kitchen and entrance, I wonder how many other lamps must be added. Even for the disposal of waste I specifically said, as written, only deal with the workforce while the rest of there I would have thought when I was their departure. Summing up enough to follow my instructions and, if anything, call me, send me a message, an e-mail. Finally I should mention that a 5 star hotel in the historic center of Rome has a cost of holiday well than by the availability services you have used. Regards.
