This apartment in the East Village would be perfect for 3 couples, or a family/group of friends of 3-8 people who want to experience living in a fantastic apartment in NYC while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are located in the heart of the tourist frenzy areas in midtown. It's very clean and has things no hotel can offer. An equivalent size 3 bedroom suite in a hotel (and there aren't many in NYC) is upwards of $ 3000/night.
This posting is for use of an entire apartment with 3 private bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, living room, dining area and 2 outdoor patios! This awesome apartment building also has a killer roof deck with panoramic views of all of NYC and bridges, a peaceful courtyard in between both buildings in the complex and the building is manned with a 24 HOUR Doorman / Security.
This is available for rentals of 6 nights or more, with Holiday weekends 3 night minimum. However, if you are seeking a long weekend (minimum 3 nights, you absolute MUST check in before 2 PM on Friday during summer months), I do occasionally rent out for less than 6 nights if it adds to or precludes an existing reservation. Please look at the calendar and if your stay isn't at least a 3 night weekend stay and there are green spaces of availability on both ends of the dates you seek, it will not be bookable most likely
The patio off the kitchen is just perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning with some sun which faces the beautiful courtyard with little to no street noise.
If you're the physical type, there is a gym (free) for your use in the basement of the building as well as a laundry room (coin operated), vending machines and ATM as well.
The unit has a fully stocked kitchen: full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas stove/oven, microwave, top of the line stainless cookware, utensils, dishware, glassware and a full private bathroom.
$ 500-750/night up to 8 people. Various factors determine price.

A security deposit of $ 500 will be charged and credited through Airbnb upon check out, unless there are damaged / missing items, or if my apartment needs excessive cleaning (cigarette smell removal is $ 350 off your security). I'm happy to say I've never kept a dime from anybody, nor ever hope to!

Full, entire 3 bedroom duplex apartment, 2 full bathrooms, 2 outdoor private patios, fully stocked kitchen, living room and dining area, the awesome roof deck and courtyard in between buildings in the complex (shared with tenants in building), gym and laundry room in basement.
The Building and Neighborhood: This building complex has 125 units, mostly 2 bedrooms, but this is a special 3 BR Duplex with outdoor patios! Overall, this is a young building: the average age in the entire complex is between 27-35. If you're the type who goes to bed early on the weekends, I'd probably say this wouldn't be your ideal stay. The building doesn't really emphasize quiet time until 1 am on the weekends and 12 midnight on weekdays. However, my apartment is extremely quiet with little to no street noise at all! The mornings are really quiet with birds chirping, no traffic, no sirens or any other regular NYC noise. This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order in and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight). And these little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places. There are at least three 24/hr places to eat within 1 block. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has a doorman and an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Your "home away from home" will provide the NYC experience not soon forgotten: the spectacular panoramic view of NYC on the roof deck (elevator and outdoor furniture up there), 2 private patios in the unit, a huge courtyard in middle of complex, about 50 restaurant/bars/cafe's within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) at the end of the block and an East River waterfront park about 4 streets/blocks to the east.
Subway (3 different lines - F,V, 4, L
Union Square is 10-15 minute walk
Empire State Building / Madison Square Garden is about a 30 minute walk
Times Square is a 40-45 minute walk (or 20 mins by subway)
Taxi on the corner rarely takes more than 1 minute of waiting.
There is a bus 1 block away.
It pretty much takes 20-45 minutes TO get anywhere in NYC, FROM anywhere in NYC whether you walk, take a taxi or subway depending on variables (weather, traffic, train delays, etc.)
No smoking inside, only on the 2 outdoor patios within the unit.
Roof deck closes @ 11 pm.

for our 2 families (9 people group) with kids, was your duplex appartement a luxe in NYC.
We stayed at Bruce's for a girls trip last weekend. It's by far the biggest apartment I've seen in NYC. Bruce's 3-bedroom duplex was great! It was very clean, well-stocked with essentials and supplies, has great facilities, and very comfortable. Bruce left us breakfast items as well. We didn't do a lot of cooking, but the kitchen was well-stocked with pans and pots, and even included a dishwasher. It was very cozy and in a safe neighborhood that was also very lively on weekend nights. It's a comfortable 15-minute walk to the F train. Bruce is so easy to communicate with, always available, honest, and helpful. I would come back and stay again! :-)
Being the first time using airbnb we couldn't had a better setup. Bruce was outstanding as a host and the apartment was greater than our expectations. Our travel party of six adults and a 10 months old baby experienced a really good time in NYC for six nights very much thanks to apartment and foremost to Bruce. We can't do anything else than sincerely recommend Bruce and his apartment.

We stayed in Bruce's apartments for 5 nights and it made our holiday just perfect! The apartment is in a great location and was big enough to fit 10 girls and all our luggage! We never ran out of hot water which was also a big bonus! The view from the roof terrace is amazing.
Bruce is a great host and had stocked the fridge up for us with breakfast bits and gave us tips and recommendations for our stay. He also allowed us to keep our luggage in the apartment on our last day so we could make the most of our time in the city! When we return to NYC this will be our apartment of choice!
Bruce's place was brilliant, plenty of room for four of us and we couldn't have asked for a better host, we arrived late on the saturday night and Bruce was there to meet us with a cold beer. He showed us around and also left a fridge full of breakfast supplies so no need for us to worry about anything the next morning. Location is great, first time we had been to New York and we walked everywhere. Highly recommend Bruce's apartment.

Update February 2014 - After 3 great years of success renting out rooms in my apartment, I now have another apartment for my painting studio / office to rent when I'm not working on a project, and I also take care of renting out my friend's apartment here in the East Village.
