Rome's main international airport:
Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport - Rome's main airport is modern, large, rather efficient, and well connected to the center of the city by public transportation. However, late-night arrivals may limit you to an irregular bus into town unless you can afford a taxi.
From Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino airport, there are two train lines and bus lines to get you into Rome:
Leonardo Express trains: with trains departing every 30 minutes Leonardo express non-stop train service takes you - every day of the year - from Leonardo da Vinci Airport to the centre of Rome in only half an hour. The train arrives and departs from platforms 23/24 in Termini Station, and is guaranteed year around, even in the event of strikes.
• the cost of one way ticket by train is 14 euro per person
• The ticket will expire 90 minutes after validation.
• the cost of one way ticket by bus Terravision is 6 euro per person.
From Ciampino airport there are bus lines to the Termini Station to coincide with flight arrivals.
ON REQUEST I CAN ARRANGE A CAR SERVICE WITH DRIVER FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE APARTMENT AT THE SAME TAXI FARE.
If you come by train you will arrive at "Termini" central station. From there take the subway going to "Battistini" and get off at "Spagna". You will step out of the subway into Piazza di Spagna!

Die charmant eingerichtete Wohnung entsprach vollständig unseren Erwartungen. Sie war absolut sauber und gemütlich. Dario hatte alles perfekt vorbereitet.
Dario was a great host and his apartment was conveniently located close to the Spanish steps on a quiet residential street. The apartment was clean and spacious.
Dario and Carlos were perfect hosts. They met us at the apartment when we arrived and showed us around the apartment. They had a map and showed us how to get to all the sites, all of which were walking distance to the apartment. The apartment is centrally located between the Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps - one street over from the main drag so everything, from shops, cafes, and restaurants are nearby but yet you are away from all the noise. We never felt unsafe walking to/from the apartment. There are locals that live in the same building and all were friendly if you crossed paths. The apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator so if you have issues with walking up and down steps, this may not work for you.
They leave you snacks, water, juice and wine to get you started. The apartment is very clean and met all our needs. They provide you with soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, and the house has everything you would need if you wanted to prepare a meal at home.
Dario and Carlos can be easily reached and will quickly respond to any questions that you may have. We couldn't have asked for better hosts for our arrival into Italy. Thanks Dario and Carlos for welcoming us into your apartment.
We highly recommend their apartment!
It was our first time in Rome and our first airbnb experience and...it was amazing!!!
From Dario who welcomed us in the best possible way, to the apartment (a cozy, beautifully decorated flat, with all - and I mean ALL - the amenities described), and the neighborhood (via Margutta is a small, quiet paradise, only very few minutes away from where everybody wants to stay when visiting Rome) everything was perfect!
Although our trip started a bit hectic as there was a fire in Fumicino Airport and we didn't know whether or when we will arrive in Rome according to our itinerary, Dario was very helpful, responded to all our messages very quickly and was really reassuring that he'll wait for us no matter what time we arrive. Fortunately there was only an hour delay and Dario was there to welcome us, show us around the flat, and tell us a little bit about the area and the most interesting places to be. He welcomed us with a wonderful breakfast for the next morning and a nice bottle of red wine...
The flat was VERY clean and had everything that you would expect from a well-equipped apartment. I must admit that it felt like we've been staying in a flat of our own - it made us really feel like home (and trust me this is NOT a feeling that we get easily...). The only drawback is probably the fact that there is no elevator but again this is something that we already knew and been prepared for, so there was NOT a single unpleasant surprise at this end either... Anyway when visiting the museums and the historical sites in Rome you'll find that you have to do so much going up and down that the steps to the flat were actually a pretty good exercise for us.
And finally the neighborhood was everything that a romantic couple of tourists would want in Rome. A beautiful via Margutta so close to Piazza Del Popolo, Piazza Di Spagna, and via del Corso and even half an hour away from the entrance of the Vatican Museum.
Everything was fantastic, I just hope our next airbnb experiences would be as great as our first one...
THANK YOU DARIO!!!
Dario's place was excellent - spacious, clean, great location close to the metro and Dario was a great host! He had prepared everything from towels and toiletries to a breakfast tray and a bottle of Sicilian red wine to milk in the fridge for our coffee. He is truly one of the most hospitable hosts I have ever met. His place is located on a beautiful quiet street where artists set up stalls to sell their art. My husband and I absolutely loved strolling on the street when we go out in the morning and come back on the evening- just to admire the artists work and the activity going on there. Thank you very much Dario for the wonderful stay. We had a lovely time in Rome and we will be back!
