Rome's main international airport:
Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport - Rome's main airport is modern, large, rather efficient, and well connected to the center of the city by public transportation. However, late-night arrivals may limit you to an irregular bus into town unless you can afford a taxi.
From Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino airport, there are two train lines and bus lines to get you into Rome:
Leonardo Express trains: with trains departing every 30 minutes Leonardo express non-stop train service takes you - every day of the year - from Leonardo da Vinci Airport to the centre of Rome in only half an hour. The train arrives and departs from platforms 23/24 in Termini Station, and is guaranteed year around, even in the event of strikes.
• the cost of one way ticket by train is 14 euro per person
• The ticket will expire 90 minutes after validation.
• the cost of one way ticket by bus Terravision is 6 euro per person.
From Ciampino airport there are bus lines to the Termini Station to coincide with flight arrivals.
ON REQUEST I CAN ARRANGE A CAR SERVICE WITH DRIVER FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE APARTMENT AT THE SAME TAXI FARE.
If you come by train you will arrive at "Termini" central station. From there take the subway going to "Battistini" and get off at "Spagna". You will step out of the subway into Piazza di Spagna!
Considering the excellent location of the apartment is also within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, the Parliament and the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori with about 10 minutes on. The Saint Peter's Square is a 20-minute walk away, as is the Roman Forum and the Coliseum.
The apt is walking distance to spanish steps and piazza del popolo, there is two subway stations (spagna - flaminio) 5 minutes walking from the apt. There are also tram and bus stop close few blocks away and also the taxi stop is near.
Dario was a great host. Easy to communicate with and was home to meet us when we arrived. Dario was very sweet and gave us a map and showed us things to do in Rome. He also had a whole tray of things for us to eat and coffee set up for us. AND a bottle of red wine and moscato. We couldn't ask for anything more. The apartment is amazing! It is so clean and we felt like we stayed in a hotel. There were plenty of linens and soaps for us, we felt very much at home. Also, there is wifi which was great since we had no mobile phone. It's a gorgeous place on the most perfect street, right by the spanish steps. I would recommend staying at Dario's a million times!
We spent beautiful days in Roma. Dario's appartment is charming and have an amazing location. Bed is very smoth and comfortable after long foot walk. The Margutta street is quiet and close to most points of interest. And Dario is very sympathetic and hospitable man.
Dario met us at the apartment and gave us a complete tour showing us how everything worked. He and Carlos were available to us for any questions during our entire stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very, very comfortable! The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed and Dario made sure we understood that everything there was available for our use! He even had a bottle of wine and a supply of breakfast foods available for us! The location is on a quiet street and central to everything in Rome. The washer/dryer was a welcome extra! A huge supermarket is just two streets away. Thank you Dario and Carlos! We highly recommend this apartment to anyone who goes to Rome.
Dario is a very gracious, honest and generous host. His apartment is not only as described but exceeded our expectations. Wonderful location, clean, airy and in a lovely neighbourhood. A great place to go home to at the end of a long day sightseeing in Rome but save some strength for getting up the stairs. Would recommend it to anyone.
All the positive reviews of Dario's apartment certainly meant we were expecting a comfortable stay. We were not disappointed, Dario met us at the apartment, in a beautiful little street near Spagna and Piazza de Popollo, and took us straight upstairs and showed us around, bigger than we expected it had everything we needed. Comfortable bed and a nicely styled apartment as well as a couple of welcoming bottles of wine, along with constant assurances that if we needed anything he was only a phone call away. A couple of inside tips on how the city was organised helped us get around over the next week and we were able to find a couple of the eateries favoured by the locals away from the tourist traps.
Definitely recommend a stay at Dario's if you want to live like a roman in this beautiful city.
We had a wonderful time in Rome ! Dario's apartment is very nice, comfortable and convenient. It is located in a very quiet street and it is near to many must-see sights (and some good restaurants!!)
Dario is very welcoming and always available to give advise.
Don't hesitate to choose his home for your future stay in Rome.
