The Space

Welcome to the "Jungle Villa", it is located on a hillside over (email hidden) valley and the beautiful Pacific ocean below with it's wonderful sunsets. Our villa is very private and secure with a gated entrance and yet it is less than a 10 minute walk to town.

If the Jungle Villa isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.

The Jungle Villa is our largest 1 bedroom apartment. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, with living room, kitchen and outside porch. The bedroom and bath are air conditioned for your sleeping comfort, while the living room and kitchen are cooled by the ocean breezes and ceiling fans. The living room and kitchen are screened in on 3 sides with wrap around windows and it is the perfect place to sit and listen to the birds, or watch the monkeys and iguanas that often visit just outside your windows. With a step outside to the front porch, you can sit down and relax and enjoy the ocean views and the most amazing sunsets.

Enjoy the pool and rancho as you relax at the property, or take a short walk to central Quepos where you will find local restaurants, shopping, live music and more. It's also a short walk to the marina and our newest park, where you can watch the local fishing and tour boats going in and out. You can visit our local farmers market every Friday and Saturday in front of our new marina. There you can try some of our unique fruits and sample home baked pastries, it's only a 5 minute walk from the villa.

If you would like our help arranging any of your tours such as, white water rafting, canopy tours, sunset cruises world class sport fishing and more please let us know.

We can also provide private transportation from San Jose to Quepos. Come stay with us and enjoy the beautiful beaches and the Pura Vida life!!

My husband and I live on the property and are always willing to help in any way we can to make your vacation stay with us a great one.

  • Marta and Douglas were so helpful. Marta has a genuine interest in helping you enjoy your trip, and made me feel very welcome. She helped me arrange rafting and sight seeing trips.
The place is very cool, I got to see monkeys and iguanas from the porch.
When I get the chance to Quepos I'll definitely stay with them again :)

  • A real homely atmosphere! What can be better than going out for the day and returning to a beautiful sunset from the pool. We were made so welcome from arrival, with a nice relaxed orientation and introduction to our 'home' and all the activities available in the area. Our rooms were kept spotlessly clean and additional services like laundry were performed efficiently and inobtrusively. Overall, a really great stay, faultless.

  • What a great place! My girlfriend and I stayed in the jungle villa for 3 nights this week, and we could not have been happier. The view is amazing, Marta and Douglas (and Saul) were awesome hosts, and the location is perfect. The property overlooks the marina and is about a ten minute walk from downtown Quepos (the hill is a little steep, so some people may be better suited driving into town), and a short drive to Manuel Antonio. We packed our days full of activities and exploring, so it was really nice to be able to come back to such a tranquil spot and take a dip in the pool. Marta can help with any tourist info you need and she helped us book a catamaran sunset tour that was awesome. We will be back, and hopefully for a little longer next time.

  • This was our first stay with Airbnb and couldn't have been happier. The view and location is as stunning as it looks and the pool and bar area are wonderful. Douglas and Marta are very friendly helpful people who helped us with an excellent Manuel Anonio guide, ( Henry )and advice on tours and local restaurants. We hadn't expected to enjoy Quepos half as much as we did, it's a nice little town and a shame we didn't have more time here.
The apartment was totally complete from forks to a juicer, it's well cared for and in a quiet area.
As mentioned, the road up to it is steep, but didn't bother my hire car! It's the price for the view I guess.

  • This place is beautiful. Marta very clearly cares about taking care of you and has plenty of recommendations for your stay should you need them. The rooms are comfortable, the AC works well and the view is breathtaking. It is up a steep hill so be ready for that. It's very close to downtown Quepos and a quick ride or drive to Manuel Antonio. The rooms are nice, clean, and well appointed. I recommend staying here.

  • My wife Shannon and I had an amazing time staying at the Jungle Villa apartment in Case Pargo! Marta is a very generous and helpful host as she picked us up when we arrived in Quepos and then gave us a tour of this small town and of all the best things to do and places to go in and around Quepos / Manuel Antonio.

While the hill was initially a challenge to climb, we knew this would be the case as it was described as such and we quickly became accustomed to it. In addition to the great apartment, having access to the pool was great way to both start and end our days there.

The apartment was clean, big and private and had good size windows providing ocean breezes. The pictures here don't quite capture how beautiful, quiet and relaxing this place is. We just got back a few days ago and still can't wipe the smiles off our faces and are already looking to plan our next trip.

Thanks Marta for all you help!

  • We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Marta and Douglas were great hosts...very helpful and kind. Definitely a good first experience using airbnb. The room was just like you see in the pictures, the location was good--within walking distance to local shops and the bus stop to take you to the beach! Hopefully we will get the chance to go back :) Thanks again Marta and Doug!

  • Wow, what a fantastic place!

Absolutely stunning view from the deck or the pool (which we soaked in for hours a day). All the reviews are dead on -- monkeys galore, plus we also saw iguanas and a toucan right from our room.

Well-equipped, cookable kitchen, comfy bed, plenty of space. You'll be absolutely surrounded by jungle sounds at night and in the morning. What a great place.

It's a 10-12 minute walk into downtown Quepos, slightly more on the way back because it's a steep climb (but worth it). We enjoyed being near Quepos and not on the much more touristy road to Manuel Antonio.

Marta and her family and crew were wonderful hosts, ready to answer any question or solve any problem.

    Highly recommended.

  • We LOVED staying at the Jungle Villa! While we were woken up earlier than expected by some scrappy monkeys horsing around on our roof, it turned into one of our favorite stories to tell from our trip to Costa Rica (seeing them jump off and swing away into the jungle was pretty amazing). Marta and Douglas were very kind and accommodating, even when we arrived later than planned due to a missed bus connection. They are very close to the downtown area of Quepos which was very convenient- most of the time we walked to and from town in about 15 minutes, only a couple times did we take a taxi because of the uphill when we were tired from a day of adventuring, and even that was very inexpensive. The entire property was stunning, and enjoying the sunset at the ranchero (along with a couple beers) was fabulous. We would highly recommend a stay at the Jungle Villa!

Douglas- I have worked for the electric company for 27 years
Marta I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful. Douglas I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
