Less than five minutes walk from the metro ("Mairie des Lilas", line 11), our flat is a 43m² apartment right on the rue de Paris, the main high street of Les Lilas. Located on the 6th floor (with a lift), the flat includes a cute small balcony terrasse, ideal for couples, offering a great view over Paris and its area.
The kitchen is fully furnished (modern gas hobs, large fridge and freezer, toaster, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker and washing machine) and the bathroom (which has a shower cabin) and toilets are separate.
Internet is obviously available with our fiber-optic speed WiFi. Please note however we do not have a television - lots of radio sets around the flat though!
With a great location, you're only 4 minutes away from the metro (line 11, "Mairie des Lilas"), and one minute from the nearest boulangerie, grocery store and the authentic covered market which takes place on Wednesdays, Fridays (organic only) and Sundays.
If you're looking to perfect your French, you'll even be able to attend our local art-house cinema in a beautiful turn of the XXth century theatre, only 50m down the road.
Line 11 of the metro is extremely convenient, getting you to République in 15 minutes and Chatelet in 20, where you'll be able to change easily to go wherever you need in town.
You'll be close to Oberkampf area, Belleville, Bastille and the Marais.
With one change the metro lines 2, 3 and 9 will take you to Montmartre, Opera, Champs Elysees.
Linen and towels are provided.
Les Lilas is a very enjoyable small town at the border of Paris, and offers the great luxury of being only minutes away from the centre of town and still enjoying peace and quiet at home, especially in the evenings.
Appart super sympa . Très bien situé . Les voisins y st très sympas . Comme une famille . Merci pour tout
We had a very relaxing stay in Damien's flat. It was very comfortable and cosy and very conveniently situated in Les Lilas which is a very attractive suburb of Paris. The flat is close to everything you need: bakery, various mouth-watering food stores and the metro. We look forward very much to stay in Damien's flat again in the future.
Damien's apartment is in a great neighborhood (Lilas), for visiting Paris for those who don't want to be right in the city center but prefer a family type neighborhood near a metro stop with plenty of shops just downstairs ( grocers, bakers and butchers ) and other amenities within a few blocks (restaurants, ATM's, even a neighborhood public library!). It was a comfortable apartment on the sixth floor with nice views out the windows. There was a typically tiny Parisian elevator [so be prepared for several trips if you bring a lot of luggage :-) ] and the bathroom and WC are Parisian tiny as well but worked out fine. It was a quaint and quiet building and, at least during our visit, we met some very friendly neighbors. The #11 metro line ended just a few blocks short of the apartment building and was a very fast way to get downtown in a hurry without getting lost ( it ends at the Chatalet station where you can pop up above ground or transfer to several other lines). We did, however, pay a moderate to high "Parisian" price to park at the "town garage" which is an underground lot across the street and about three doors down since we were reluctant to leave our car on the streets and didn't want to run afoul of the neighborhood parking rules. All in all a nice place to stay.
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans un très bel appartement, proche de toutes commodités !
Damien's apartment fully lived up to all the previous reviews. It's stylishly decorated, conveniently located and has a very comfortable bed. What more could you want?
Others have mentioned the collection of old cameras, the typewriter and other interesting ornaments. There's also a turntable for the hi-fi system, with a selection of vinyl albums. As the pictures show, the hall table is an antique treadle sewing machine!
Among other gadgets, there's a Philips daylight alarm clock - it gradually wakes you by increasing the light level very slowly over around half an hour, simulating the dawn, and playing the sound of birds singing.
Like most in Paris, the kitchen is small but it's well equipped. Among other things it has a dishwasher, which is nice to have when on holiday. And it even has a kettle, which in the past has been unusual in French homes.
The small balcony outside the bedroom would have been a nice place to sit and drink coffee made in the Nespresso machine. But Autumn fog and drizzle dampened its attraction. Maybe next time.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
