The historic Barrister's Guest Quarters is a fully renovated stone home featuring six separate suites with private baths located in the heart of Fredericksburg. Close to everything, the rooms are cozy and quiet with plenty of outdoor seating. Something else that sets us apart is our complimentary breakfast which includes authentic German pastries from the iconic Old German Bakery on Main Street. We have been serving guests for over twenty years now and would love to have you stay with us!

The space
This historic home has been converted into six private guestrooms with one central hallway. Each of our six suites are distinctive and different. They all have a comfortable and homey feel with all of the amenities for a happy stay. We have WiFi and flatscreen tv/s with cable including Showtime, parking close to your room, great outdoor spaces with lots of shaded seating, private A/C and heat, and queen size beds with custom made iron frames. Along with our complimentary breakfast, we have a pool available for your enjoyment (Pool and breakfast are across the street at our sister properties)!

We have also recently partnered with San Antonio's hottest new coffee house - Shotgun House Roasters - and are proud to announce our own specialty roasted blend as our standard in-room coffee.

We are close to everything. We are less than a mile to the hub of Main Street shopping and right across the street from the top rated Sunset Grill. We have a great Mexican restaurant about one house down and another a couple of blocks away. We are a short walk to the tasting room at Lost Draw Cellars as well as The Stable - featuring craft cocktails. We are a couple of blocks or so from Walgreens, HEB, two gas stations, Subway, The Peach Tree and many other restaurants along with Fredericksburg's premier workout facility and Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

We have been in the hospitality business in Fredericksburg for almost 25 years now and absolutely love it! We love the town and the surrounding wine country and all that this area has to offer. We have a great team of people that work with and for us and our goal is to provide a wonderful lodging experience for your stay in Fredericksburg. We have traveled extensively ourselves with our family (we have four children, all adults now) and love to do so! We are avid readers and I am a runner. Ed is an attorney in the Central Texas area and has been practicing for over 35 years now. I am a property manager for our family business.

When you stay with us at The Barrister's Guest Quarters or The Cozy Texan, we try to make your experience pleasant and comfortable with minimal interaction. If you need us, we are here. Just message us on Airbnb or once you arrive, our office at the Econo Lodge is open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily (and someone will always answer the night bell if you have an emergency!). We have stayed at many Airbnb's and know that each experience is different and that's what people love about it! We really think we offer a superb location close to everything and wonderful amenities with our comfy rooms and and those German pastries. Mostly, we hope you think so, too!
