We ask that you message us FIRST before booking. We have THREE bedrooms, but we have three separate listings as that's what we have to do with airbnb. Please make sure you book under the correct listing:
"Andersonville Dream! 1 bedroom" = Just one room, can fit two people
Andersonville Dream! 2 bedrooms" = Can fit up to four people
Andersonville Dream! Whole apt" = 3 bedrooms and total home rental to yourselves
Our space: We have an amazing three bedroom flat in a wonderfully unique and beautiful home located in the heart of one of Chicago's most beloved neighborhoods. We have one room that has a queen bed and two room with full beds. We welcome single travelers, groups, families, and friends! We provide clean linens/pillows, access to large bedrooms, living/dining room, a sunroom complete with a spinnet piano, record player and cozy recliners, a sizable bathroom with your own cabinet for your things, a lovely, large front porch with rocking chairs, a picturesque backyard picnic area with a grill, and a fully updated kitchen with all the bells and whistles. Internet is available as well, but we are happily a TV free household!
Fun fact: Our home, built in 1905, once housed a speak easy in the basement. There's cabinetry to prove it - we'll show you!
About the neighborhood: We humbly believe you can't do much better. Andersonville is one of Chicago's most treasured neighborhoods, where we enjoy "village life in the big city" as lauded by the New York Times. In our little European like neighborhood, which is steeped in its Swedish heritage and valiantly committed to supporting its local businesses, you'll enjoy some of the city's best locally owned antique stores, restaurants, boutiques, bookstores and bars. If you're an antique freak, foodie, beer/wine aficionado, or green geek, this is the neighborhood for you. This green friendly area is the city's first neighborhood-managed alternative recycling program. We're a ten minute walk to Foster beach and the lakefront path and a five minute walk to the CTA red line. You also can't miss all the amazing Vietnamese treats by the Argyle train stop, and just down the street on Broadway the Green Mill, the city's first jazz club and favorite spot of Al Capone's.
Bonus: Your own personal event planner. Kristen does that stuff professionally and will help you design the best Chicago trip ever. Leave your "Not For Tourist" book behind; you've got your own guide.

It was fantastic! Great neighborhood, great rooms, great space, and fantastic kitchen. It worked out perfectly for our family visit to Chicago and we would definitely stay there again.
My crew of six had a perfect weekend in Kristen & Mollie's 2nd floor walk up flat. We were pleased to find a parking spot in front of the house for our minivan despite the holiday weekend. An impressively quiet and clean neighborhood; we were very happy with the multitude of cute shops and restaurants within a short walk. The pictures don't do it justice; simply gorgeous!
I appreciated the extra sets of keys; it eliminated a lot of potential logistical problems.
Great neighborhood and lovely sunny apartment! Parking was easy too, a miracle in Chicago! I tortured the neighbors with my piano playing. All in all, a great trip.
I had a great stay at Kristen and Mollie's. Their apartment is adorable! The pictures were accurate and their place is in a great area. I was able to walk or take public transportation during my entire visit. The only thing was since it is an old building there is not central AC and I just happen to be there during a really hot weekend but there were plenty of fans in the apartment and there was one window ac unit. Overall I had a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chicago to consider staying there.
This was great place to stay. We had a group of 5 that fit very well into this rental. Kristen was very helpful and answered all my questions along the way. She met us at the house upon arrival to show us around and answer any questions.
It is walking distance to the L and about a 30min ride into downtown.
Great variety of places to eat in the area and Kristen and Mollie have a list a suggestions as well.
The neighborhood is quite and well kept, great place to stay.
The only downfall was the water pressure. When you are showering it takes some getting use to. Not a make it or break it in my book. The positives of this place out way any negatives.
I would stay hear again!
Kristen and Molly were so kind. They let me throw a bridal shower brunch for my sister at their apartment. It was roomy enough to hold 25 hungry ladies! It's in a great location. Parking was a little tight, but that's Chicago for ya! It's a pretty old building with a lot of character but not a lot of water pressure. Thanks, ladies!
Kristen and Mollie's place was perfect for our family of five. Well located and clean. Delightful. We would be happy to stay there again.
Kristen and Mollie's Andersonville apartment was PERFECT. I was traveling with my wife, 3-year-old son and in-laws, and the layout was ideal for accommodating all five of us, with a separate bedroom for my son to sleep undisturbed while the adults hung out in the sunroom in the back. There was a ton of space for all of us to live comfortably. And both my son and I enjoyed the piano (I actually devoted some effort to learning Moonlight Sonata and was kind of inspired to start playing again). All in all, it felt like home as soon as we showed up. That's just about as much as you can ask from Airbnb -- after a couple of days, it seemed like my place, not a place where I was staying temporarily.
The neighborhood is great, too. Lots of parking on the street, except late at night, when there was lots of parking one block over on Foster. The street is like an encyclopedia of North Side residential architecture -- every building different but nearly all great in their own way. The Clark Street shopping district is an easy walk away.
As for Kristen and Mollie themselves, I was the only one who didn't get to meet either of them, but I talked to Kristen on the phone briefly and everyone who did meet them loved them. But I kind of fell in love with them via their decor and all the great personal effects they had around their apartment. Oh, Kristen and Mollie, why can't we hang out?
We met Kristin and spoke to Molly over the phone. They were both great! The apartment was comfortable and clean. One of our daughters was getting married and we needed a place for the rest of the family to stay. The location could not have been better for us. And the price for 6 people to stay for a week, with a newly remodeled kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a dining room, and a den, was very reasonable. We were able to cook meals and my husband made the cake for the grooms dinner and the wedding cake. For my family, the one downside was no televisions, but we all survived by using our computers. We will definately stay here again.
I didn't actually stay at Kristen and Mollie's, though I wish I did. I booked their entire house for a friend of mine and his employees, who were in town for a show from China. My friends said they had a great experience, and, being their first time in the US, felt that they got a good feel for living American. Kris and Mollie were both responsive and flexible, and handled what could have been a messy situation with grace and aplomb. Even though I didn't see the place, or get to meet Kris and Mollie, I feel confident that my friends were well taken care of and comfortable.
