If you get a chance to stay at Gringo Wasi BnB do it! It's a bit off the beaten path (literally) but absolutely worth the bit of an extra drive. Lyle was super great to communicate with and even picked us up so we didn't have to worry about figuring out how to get to their home. Their house is beautiful. The rooms have everything you need. The coffee and breakfast is delicious. The hosts are welcoming and go above and beyond to make your trip special. What more can you ask for?

Lyle and Lili are delightful host. They are extremely helpful and will assist you in any traveling needs/tips you may have. They truly are attentive to your every need. The area of their charming B&B is a picturesque, peaceful and quaint alternative to the busy and often crowded city of Cusco. I absolutely loved waking up to the beautiful green mountain side and the sound of the birds chirping. If I ever have the pleasure of making it back to Cusco region I know exactly where I will be staying! Ps. Lyle makes a mean breakfast!

I had a wonderful stay at GringoWasi. Lyle and Lily were absolutely wonderful to stay with. Huarocondo is a bit out of the way of Cusco, but Lyle and Lily provided great directions to get me into Cusco and up to Ollantaytambo to do the whole tourist thing. Even when I got adopted by a Urubamba family during my trek to Maras, Moray and Salinas, and ended up getting to Izcuchaca late, Lyle was gracious enough to come pick me up, even though the colectivos weren't going into Huarocondo that late. Only two things I would improve upon would be 1. Configuring the WIFI to make into the room I was staying. (Although I felt comfortable enough just to migrate into the common areas to complete wifi needed activities.) Dense walls prevented the wifi to reaching my room. Second was, the water went in and out, so either I had to be fast showering or have Lyle turn on the pump for water. Kind of an inconvenience, but Lyle was happy to turn on the pump. (Some sort of problem with the town, not necessarily GringoWasi's fault). Had a great time with them taking me into Cusco to see Lily's son's skateboard competition in addition to introducing me to the Huarocondo Lechon festival. Great place to stay if you're interested in venturing out outside the norm of the traditional "tourist".

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall and we were happy to help with your transportation needs. We are currently working on a solution for the wi-fi in room 1 and hope to have this issue resolved soon and yes, currently the town is working on upgrading the water system in the town and occasionally the water does have to be turned off, this is one of the reasons we installed the water pump and second water tank to be sure we have sufficient water for our guests. We are glad that you enjoyed the skateboard competition and the lechon festival, we enjoyed taking you with us and we hope that you got some good pictures.

Nice place in the mountains, but little long to the city, 30km. Difficult with transport. Big room, but the room was cold.

Response from Lyle:
Sorry to hear that you felt we were located too far from the city, especially as this is the main reason most guests choose to stay with us, the fact that we are away from the noise and pollution of the bigger cities is generally seen as a positive thing, but we do understand that some people prefer to be in the city center. We hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay in Cusco as well as your visit to Machu Picchu.

Highly recommend for you to stay here. Had to see the mystical and local side of cusco. Lyle and Lilly are a great host and they go out of their ways to help you have a smooth sailing to the next destination. I might add Lyle is a great cook as well!! He rooms are super clean and you'll feel like you're lodging in the mountains.

My wife and I have enjoyed traveling for many years and have visited a lot of places around the world, recently we decided to enter the hospitality side and open our own bed and breakfast in Cusco.
