We were only in Lima for 9 hours to sleep before getting on a bus to Ica. Ronald gave us clean sheets and towels and hot water to make tea in the morning. For the price, it was exactly what we needed.
This place has great location from the "Centro Historico" just 5 - 10 minutes in "bus colectivo" (small white buses). If you want to go to Miraflores it is far away, around 30min - 1h depending of traffic jam, best way is to use the "Metropolitano".
The host is very friendly and help us to understand how to move in the city. Also he provided some toasts, bottles of water and coffee. In general I'm comfortable with the service.
Spacious private apartment. Hot shower. Convenient pickup from airport. He also arranged a taxi for us the next morning because we had an early flight to catch. Overall great experience.
Ronald made us feel very welcome in his home. He sent a taxi to the airport to pick us up (after a significant change in travel plans), and was very kind and helpful when we arrived. The space is exactly as advertised, with tea, coffee, a hot plate, and a hot shower available to us. We wished we could have stayed longer to explore Callao, but had to catch a flight in the morning to Cusco. The apartment was great for a short stay, but I'm sure it would be a nice home base for a longer visit as well. Ronald is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Enjoy!
Ronald apartment was the Best we ever tried, they were spacions in bedroom Nice kitchen and bathroom with hot water, we were picked up from AirPort as agreed and Ronald received US with hospitality and lidenskab , there were City Map on the table and he gave US Many information . There were clean towels tee coffee and other small thing to eat, and Household matters. Neat and clean everything . Good coating from center, I will come back:)
Ronald was very helpful in arranging transportation from the airport and to the bus station the next day. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the water hot. Three people could comfortably stay here.
There wasn't much to see or eat within walking distance of the apartment, and being unfamiliar with the language and customs, I wasn't completely comfortable going to the market across the street to buy something to cook. Still, I was able to eat.
The road noise was moderate, and being fairly warm, I slept with the windows open. If you sleep lightly, the noise might be a bother, but I was exhausted from traveling and didn't mind.
I think if I intended to spend several days in Lima as a tourist, I'd look somewhere else, just because of the neighborhood being mostly residential. But, for an overnight stay after a flight, it was perfect, and at a good price.

About the Host, Ronald
My family and I are opening our house to travelers. We like to interact with people from different cultural background and make our airbnb guests feel as they are part of our family.
We also would like to share what we know about Lima and where to go in Lima. This cultural exchange gives us the opportunity to tell you who we are. We like to keep contact with international people and hear things about their travelings.
We offer you a safe, quiet, and nice environment.
Some advantages of my home are:
My house is well located between the Lima International Airport and Downtown Lima. We are 15-20 minutes by taxi to downtown Lima. Some places, we suggest, to see in downtown are:
- Cathedral of Lima (Catacombs of Lima)
- The Franciscan Monastery
- The Government Palace
- Malecon del Rio (Pier of the river)
You can also take the panoramic bus and you can compare the old Lima and new Lima, that has over 8 million inhabitants. We can consider it as a busy city.
Peru is three times the size of California. So you have a lot to see other than Cusco and Puno.
If you like eating, you should check out Peru’s annual food festival in Lima, Mistura, (more than 300,000 attendees). The next one is in September 2015. You can spend all day in this huge fair. Seafood, Steaks, rotisserie chicken, pork and lamb (and many vegetarian options too!).
Drinks like Pisco Sour, Purple Corn juice (Chicha Morada) and Fermented Corn juice (also called Peruvian/Inca beer) or Chicha de Jora are a must.
Desserts made of dark chocolate, rice pudding with purple corn pudding, and ice creams like Zambito are just delicious.
