We felt so at home! Even though we came into town for work, we were able to relax each evening. The back deck was perfect. Looking forward to coming back.
We loved our stay at Mary's place! She was extremely communicative and accommodating. We chose to stay here because of its proximity to our wedding venue which was just 15 minutes down the road. We had the entire house for our bridal group and friends to stay with us over Labor D…

Dear Chris and Jazmin! Thank you for choosing our home to have your pre-wedding celebration. It was such a pleasure to have you! Thank you for the lovely review and the beautiful wedding flowers. We were so happy to be able to accommodate your needs on such a special occasion in your lives. We appreciate your gratefulness; and how refreshing it was to come home to a house that was as nice and clean and organized as we left it!! You did an awesome job in spite of how hectic it must have been to try to clean a house in the midst of a wedding celebration. You are an awesome couple! Come back and visit us when you are in the area. Happy honeymoon! Mary and Jeff
Mary's home in Canton, CT is a large and inviting space, with plenty of room to sleep and entertain. She and her husband are very cordial and amiable. The house is clean and well-maintained, and as described in her posting. Its location made it the perfect spot for a group of …

Thank you Nabiel, Kimly and friends! It was such a pleasure having you and your group of friends. You are awesome guests! Would love to have you again! Thanks for leaving the house in order and the extra touch of cleaning the grill to perfection as we had it, is totally downright respectful, caring, and thoughtful. Mary and Jeff
Mary's place was lovely! It was clean, big, had all the kitchen equipment and facilities that we needed. And thank you for letting us use your spices and groceries too! She was responsive but not overly communicative. We all had a lovely time.
The size and location was great but the space was not very clean and not exactly as described. The host is a lovely woman but was overly involved and messaged me so frequently it was hard to relax and enjoy.

I have my house professionally cleaned before guests arrive, and right after they leave. I keep my home clean for my guests and family at all times. Yes, we live in a very rural area with many trees and yes there will be bugs at times. Guest instructions were very clear regarding garbage. If you leave dirty diapers in a house for 3 days it WILL bring ants and bugs. The house had a horrible odor when we went upstairs, such that we had to keep all windows open from the moment guests checked out to try and get rid of the smell. There were also little fecal fingerprints on toilet paper and master bath wall. Checking the bathrooms after small children use it, is something a parent should do as a rule. The tour was 8 minutes long, not 20. Every other guest I’ve had has been greatly appreciative of the 8 minute tour. I don’t know what this guest meant by “house not as described”. She paid $198 for a very large 4 bedroom home with 2 full baths, sauna, Jacuzzi, deck, new grill, a beautiful kitchen/dining room, etc. on a beautiful treed lot (Try getting that in a hotel). It WAS very clear in the listing that we would be living in the apt downstairs during their stay. They booked in May. WE CHANGED THE LISTING TO RENT THE ENTIRE HOUSE IN JULY. The Bertones arrived and wanted the entire house even though they paid for only half. I’m sorry but the entire house is $395 per day, 3,000 square foot with 3 full baths, 5 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, plus, plus. Checking in on my guests is my style, especially when they bring 3 children that were never mentioned in the preliminary inquiry or throughout pre-arrival conversations. One male guest texted me to see if I had crib sheets. That's when I realized there were children involved. Ms. Bertone complained about one room being too hot. There are 3 very powerful a/c units upstairs (two that are 2 weeks old). I offered to go buy another one for the room she was speaking of, an offer which she quickly turned down. Texting a host at 2am in the morning, is a NO-NO, unless there is an emergency. Guest messaged me at that time to tell me the windows could not be opened. That was a bit much? Perhaps the Bertones are going through a hard time. If they are, I am truly sorry. But saying negative things about others because one is not happy with themselves, is not a nice way to deal with life. I wrote them a nice review because that is what I do with everyone. Everyone needs a chance to be happy in this life and saying nice things about them lifts up their spirits. Had I been rigorously honest I would not have given them such a nice review. But what good is it to hurt other people with words that cannot be hidden once they are put in writing. Mom always reminded us as we were growing up. “Nice words are free, so choose ones that please another’s ears”. And “The credit got by a lie only lasts until the truth comes out”. To all my future guests: “Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see”.
