Experience the charm of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn! A traditionally Italian-American neighborhood, it is now dotted with lovely boutiques, shops and cafes, and yet has retained many of its long-standing family run businesses.
Try the lard bread at Caputo's Bakery on the next block, or experience the best classic Italian sandwich at Esposito & Sons meat shop just two blocks over. Then stop in for an afternoon beer at the Alpine restaurant, Brooklyn Buschenshank, conveniently located on the ground floor. Please check my guidebook for more suggestions on other great neighborhood places!
The apartment is located in a building on a prime corner in quaint Carroll Gardens only two short blocks from the (F) subway. What was once a brothel in the '50s and '60s is now a very spacious but cozy 3 bedroom/1 bathroom flat on the 3rd floor.
Upon entering the apartment you will walk into a beautiful, tranquil, and spacious living room with an open kitchen layout. There are three bedrooms. Two of them have two windows each overlooking Court Street, and the third bedroom has one window overlooking Sackett Street. Original wood ceiling beams give charm to the space.
The apartment also features:
Three queen beds with white bedding
Bathroom with tub & shower
Fresh towels and linens
Utensils/pots for cooking
4-burner stove and oven
Heat (working well now, even for the cold, cold nights)
Iron & Board
It is a 3 floor walk-up.
Please, no smoking and no pets.

We really enjoyed our stay at Amy's place in Carroll Gardens. The neighbourhood is amazing with lots of great restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and shops. It is also a wonderful place to go wander and enjoy the brownstone architecture of Brooklyn. The apartment is a few blocks away from the F-subway line and about a 25 minute walk to the Brooklyn bridge for those who want to head to Manhattan on foot. Amy's photos well represent the lovely apartment with three good sized rooms and comfy queen beds. We were six adults and one baby and we were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and Amy even had a few treats in the fridge to welcome us. I would only say that those who are sensitive to noise at night should bring earplugs because the floors are quite squeaky. I would recommend this apartment and I think Amy is a great and responsive host.
We spent 5 days in this apartment and all went well. Amy was very reactive when we needed something and it is a pleasure as a guest to have this service. Thank you and I recommend this apartment for an experience in The City
We are a family with 2 teenage children booked in to the 3 bedroom apartment for 5 weeks. If you are looking for 5 start Manhattan apartment living, this isnt it. But if you are looking for an apartment oozing character in a safe, friendly Brooklyn neighbourhood then this is absolutely it and you will not be disappointed. The apartment is very spacious - a bit cold at times but the Owner left us some additional heaters to cope with the unseasonable cold. Laundromat a block down the street. Beds and pillows were excellent. The subway is only a couple of blocks away and very convenient to Manhattan. We loved coming home to the peace and quiet of Carroll Gardens after the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Restaurants, boutique shops, cafes, bakeries, food markets all within a few minutes walk. We were sad to leave and would love to go back.
What a truly fabulous place! We had a wonderful time staying in this super cool place in the heart a really cool part of Brooklyn. We were working in Manhattan and found it easy getting the subway over everyday…. and always enjoyed coming 'home' in the evening.
Staying at Amy's 3 bedroom this time (we always stay in her 2 bedroom) was just perfect as I prepared Thanksgiving dinner for my family of 12. The grocers and of course Winn being so close was especially convenient on Thanksgiving Day!
Amy was so accommodating (as always), seeing to our needs from extra seating to a baby bed.
Thank you again Amy for making our stay most comfortable!
When it comes to hosts, Amy is the fastest quickdraw in the East. She responded super quickly, which I really appreciated since I was organizing accommodations for myself and coworkers. She was really flexible about letting some of us leave our luggage in the apartment after check out so that we could sightsee a little more before our late flights. Really appreciated the freedom and flexibility of this place. And the beds were super comfy!
The folks down at the bar below were also amazingly welcoming and kind. They even comped us a beer or two!
Location couldn't be beat. Right smack in the middle of all the Brooklyn fun. Close to lots of delicious restaurants, shops, and coffee houses. Highly recommend it for groups!
Excellent place, awesome location, responsive owner. This 3rd floor walkup was the Brooklyn/New York experience we were all looking for. We were in town for a good friend's wedding, and this place just happened to be around the corner from our friends, and down the street from the wedding venue. Close to great restaurants, pizza slices, bagels, bodegas, and everything else we needed and wanted. As well as a block walk to the subway and great shopping within walking distance. I would do it again in an instant. Thanks to the owner for allowing us early entry and late departure which worked out great for our redeye getting in, and our late afternoon flight going home. Comfortable beds, huge living area, and just overall a great space.
Host is incredible - friendly, accommodating and responds very quickly. We absolutely loved the entire place, the location and its amenities. My cousins & I look forward to renting this place again on our next NYC trip. Thank you Amy for everything!
We really enjoyed our stay in Amys flat. The flat is very spacious and nice. The location is brilliant if you want to experience the Brooklyn vibe.
Many great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. You have easy access to Manhattan by the F-train, but there are also lots of nice shops and things to do in Brooklyn, it is wurth while to spend some time in there.
Next time we are coming we really want to stay in the same area and if Amys flat is still out for rent it is a "no brainer" where to stay!
Thank you Amy!
This place was perfect for a small group attending Brooklyn Beta. Great location in Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens that's walking distance to great food and great bars.
Comfy beds, reliable internet, and clean towels was exactly what we needed after long days at the conference.
Our stay at Amy's place made us feel like we won AirBNB.
