Traveling with a friend trough Thailand, I stayed at this place for four nights. The complementary pick-up-service from the ferry port is very convenient. Arrived at the place, we had a very nice and large apartment for us that is ideal to hang out and relax. Thanks to the bikes provided by the host family, we explored the area around and regularly rode to Chumpon that is about 30 min away. Activities beyond that are kindly offered by the host family for which they charge reasonable rates. As a highlight, we enjoyed a very nice and unique individual boat trip with the family-owned ship along the river to the open sea and a lonely island with snorkeling and swimming and jumping from the boat into the sea. This is among the best memories of our 5-week Thailand trip! For all three meals of the day great Thai food is offered and recommended by us. During our stay, Cpt. Apollo was not around which made the communication in English with the host family quite difficult. However, if you are not scared by that and looking for a nice and calm place off the beaten track to relax and hang out, this will be the place to go!
I recently returned to ThaiXing B&B Chumphon for my forth visit in 12 months; clearly, I love this place. Accommodation is simple, relaxed, clean and comfortable. People are helpful and friendly.
In this natural setting on the beautiful Tha Taphap River, just off the beaten tourist track, I feel that I see the real Thailand here.
Take a boat ride downstream on the Tha Taphap River through the bustling Thai fishing town; you wont see anything like this on the tourist trails; then out into the Thai Gulf and the amazing shapes of the island outcrops. It’s something else!!
Chumphon Provence remains largely unspoiled, white sandy beaches dotted with palm trees abound in this region away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trade.
I've thoroughly enjoyed each stay at ThaiXing B&B Chumphon. I rate this place Awesome!!
I stayed for three nights and I must say that this place really was a hidden Thai treasure and gives reason alone to stay in the Chumphon. Thai X-ing is owned by one the best Thai chefs in Washington DC and this was incredibly clear as the food was the best that I had during my entire trip to Thailand, where only local ingredients are used and the standards are high . This was incredibly welcomed after the long train ride from Bangkok!
The B&B is located along a lazy river surrounded by coconut and banana trees. The bamboo rafts and docks are a perfect place to collect your thoughts which listening to the local birds and coconuts periodically dropping from the trees. The incredibly flat landscape of the area also makes for a very relaxing bike ride (on bikes the B&B provides) through the jungle, allowing you to explore to your heart's delight.
What can I say about the staff other than they were some of the friendliest people, taking my experience to another level. I was also lucky to arrive at Thai X-ing while Taw (the owner) was there, and he was kind enough to take me around for a tour of the surrounding area, as well as guide me through all the local vegetation (and how to cook with it!). We also were able to take the large former fishing boat that the B&B owns down the river and into the ocean to get a picturesque view of the Thai coastline.
Ultimately there is no question that I will be back at Thai X-ing B&B. I would highly recommend it to any person who is looking to relax for a few days before heading into the tourist swarms of Ko Tao or Ko Phangan, and especially for someone who is looking to get away for a longer time and clear their mind to author a book or find inspiration. 10/10.
