The AplenRetreat is a sweet place to stay. The three bedroom suite has great views, the rooms are well appointed and clean, and the chalet is a 500 year old structure with 2ft thick walls. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the tip to go swimming at Blindsee lake was awesome.

We had a wonderful time at the Alpen Retreat. The friendly and helpful team, a spacious house, our cozy suite, delicious food, a yoga class and a spectacular view made it perfect. We could relax and the kids had fun playing in and around the house. The location is perfect to start some hikes and find lakes to bath. For everyone planning to use the suite with more than 5 people: The kitchen in the vintage suite is ok for up to 5 people eating comfortably at the same time. Although we managed to have dinner with 6 grown ups and 3 children, it was quite narrow. But there are common eating rooms in the house that can be used. We can absolutely recommend the Alpen Retreat to everyone who wants to relax, enjoy nature and/or practice yoga or meditation.

The Retreat was truly as described and the setting is lovely. It is a great base from which to do hikes (or just walks) and the scenery is stunning. The rooms were nice, very clean and comfortable. We were greeted in very friendly manner. As it is somewhat a group hosting, that meant someone was always available. My only hint for improvement: place the printed instructions in a prominent place (currently hanging on the back of the door). I had already drunk tapwater before I saw them and was told I should use the filtered water .... But I havent noticed any problem anyhow :-)

The Alpine retreat is a beautiful house and Fraser's team is very helpful and pleasant. Could not meet Fraser, but his team made our stay very comfortable. The location is great, and there is a beautiful view of the Alps from the windows. Would definitely recommend the place.

We loved this place. The views were completely breathtaking. I cannot imagine a more serene location. The folks here were so friendly, and were very accommodating to us given a late arrival time. This is a perfect place for anyone looking for true getaway destination.
