The room was great. It's placed in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood with walking distance to good restaurants and the city centre. Jan and his wife was very welcoming and helpful to us. Our only complaint was the small bathroom door, but that wasn't really a problem for us. We absolutely recommend Jan for staying in Amsterdam!
Jan and his wife are really nice and friendly hosts. The room is not big, but it's lovely and nice decorated. The room and the bathroom were clean and has a coffeemaker and a waterheater. There is also a little refrigerator in the corridor. The staircase is really small so the luggage schould not be too big.
But the best thing was the view! It's really beautiful to look at the great church when you lie in her!
We really liked to stay in this beautiful room with the nice view. The location around is also very lovely and it made lots of fun to explore the city.
Central location in the Jordaan district with a beautiful view of the Westerkerk. Quite a treat to listen to the bells of this church throughout the day, sounding like a larger than life music box. Jan was a great host, meeting us late as our travels had been delayed. Exceptionally comfortable bed much appreciated after 20+ hours of airline travels. Travelers should note the apt is on the 4th floor with exceptionally steep stairs. Not an issue for us but maybe for others. Also note the thin walls between the staircase/refigerator (not the actual apt) and the neighbors apt. We apologize for any disturbance. Only complaint would be the lack of a real door between the bedroom and the bathroom. The swinging corral doors added a whole new level of intimacy between my girlfriend and myself. Regardless, would definitely recommend the apt and Jan as a host.
It was our first rent on airbnb and we really enjoyed it!
The room is cosy and very luminous, with a large bathroom and a nice view of the Jordaan.
Jan has been really nice and gently agreed to give us the keys earlier than planed and let us keep our luggage in the room until we took the train.
We would definetly recommend this place, very quiet but near from the center!
The room is lovely - fantastic views and they included nice little extras like mints and tea!! It's right in the middle of Jordaan which is a beautiful area of Amsterdam, but still walking distance from the centre and the more touristy bits! Jan was very friendly - quick to reply to messages and really flexible in terms of meeting us to hand over keys etc.
We had a good time at Jan's place and we would come again! The room is lovely and nice. The location is worth the money.
The room is located on the 4th. floor and you a good view on the Jordaan area. You have your own toilet and shower. Wifi is provided, but the connection was quite bad. There is just a electrical heating in the room. Temperature is quite low inside the room when its cold outside and the heating is turned off. Once it is turned on, the room is warmed up fast.
Walking distence to the city center is about 10-15 minutes, central station about 25min. In Jordann you find lots of good and nice restaurants - so you won't starve hunger. A bike rental is close, but quite expensive.
Summing up, Jan's place provides everything you need for having a good time in Amsterdam.
This is a great room, cosy in a brilliant situation, Jordan is the prettiest part of Amsterdam plus we could walk anywhere easily from here. Jan provides good information about where to eat etc.
Jan helped us out big time as we decided to come to amsterdam 2 days early and were struggling to find accommodation last minute. Jan replied instantly and offered us his beautiful guest room in the attic of his residential property in the popular district of Jordaan. We arrived the same day.
The room was very well thought of. Your own private street entrance, nice selection of coffee and teas, tv, wifi, countless information on what to see, do and where to go for the best meals... and of course a cosy bed!
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality over the weekend, we thorhad a great time :)
Lovely apartement in the heart of the Joordan. We really enjoyed the view and the cleanliness of the room! Jan is very welcoming, I recommend Bed en Breakfast 'De Nieuwe Lelie'!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Jan's room for a weekend. The room itself and the location are awesome! Jordan is one of the best neighbourhoods in town with restaurants and bars all around. You can spend hours just walking around the canals and enjoying the ambiance. Jan himself is very interesting character and a very welcoming host. I do recommend staying here to everyone.
