The Space

Newly renovated 1930's house located just minutes away from beaches, lakes, salt water inlet and walking trails. Situated on a main street just a block away from Port Moody West Coast Express station and couple street lights away from exits to major highways, including Barnet Highway leading to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, Grouse and Seymour mountain and Whistler Blackcomb resort.

House consists of 2 bedrooms with double beads and a huge attic loft with a queen bed. There is also a sofa bed in the living room which sleeps 2. There are 2 TVs with cable and wireless internet throughout the house.

There are many breakfast bistros, restaurants and take out places just walking distance from the house. There is also a 7-11 and a liquor store just around the corner.

Port Moody West Coast Express Station is right across the street (5 minutes walk) this train takes you down town non stop in 22 minutes. There is other public transport such as the 97B-Line bus (stop right across the street) which takes you to Lougheed Station in 15 minutes and from there there are Sky trains heading into Vancouver every 10 minutes. There is also the 160 bus that goes down Hasings Street into Vancouver.

Guest Access

Guests have access to parking (one spot in our port but you can park another car in our back alley completely safe as well). We have a large Back yard, front patio and gas BBQ. A fully equipt kitchen (but no dish washer). Washer and dryer, cable TV and internet.

Interaction with Guests

I greet all my guests to show them around and welcome them. I'm normally very close by or my mom is also in the area. My guest can always contact me with any questions or concerns.

The Neighborhood

We live in a very peaceful neighborhood. Our neighbors consist of young and elderly families. Almost every house has a dog and everyone is very sweet and helpful.

Getting around

Our location is ideal for people who want to be down town in half hour or out to the lake in 15 minutes. We are very central, there are bus stops right across the street and the Port Moody West Coast Express Station literally across from our house. This train take you to Water Front Station (during peak hours) down town in under half hour.

Also there is a 7eleven, Liquor Store, Subway, Tai food, Greek food, Persian food, Sushi, McDonald's 3 minutes walk and many more! There is a beautiful waterfront restaurant The Boathouse 6 minutes walk ideal for a posh diner of seafood or steak. There are 2 lively pubs across the street-The Point (live music on weekends) and the The Burrard Public House (dj's on weekend and great food). Both these are spaced 100 feet from each other and a 10 minute walk from our house. You can basically go out for food and drink on foot and walk back in minutes!

  • The house was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay.

  • Cozy small home, had enough space for 7 adults and two children which was (website hidden) is a great spot to start all kinds of adventures in the greater Vancouver area. Marta is a very lovely person and we enjoyed her support with our questions we had. We were surprised as sometimes the floor was shacking given to the train that passed the city every now and then.

  • Marta was very accommodating and her house was beautiful in a very central location. We were very pleased to stay there.

  • We totally enjoyed our stay at Marta's place in Port Moody. The house is a perfect combo of funky and comfy. We slept 5 people easily. Marta is an awesome host- very easy to communicate with, very helpful with advice about the area, and very relaxed.

The main drag is really a big busy street with most urban conveniences nearby. It is easy to get to wonderful parks (Shoreline park around the water is great) and good restaurants within walking distance. Indian food (Aroma) was fabulous and there is a sweet looking Italian place (Rosa's) that we want to go back to! It is also really easy to get to Vancouver via public transportation. We totally recommend this airbnb host!

  • Marta was very nice and despite not meeting her face-to-face I felt taken care of. The house was lovely and very well situated (the all day breakfast across the street is hard to beat). We had everything we needed and would stay here again/recommend Marta as a host any day!

  • Highly recommended. House is not big and kinda funky, but very comfortable. Marta communicates very well and works hard to (email hidden) ready for your arrival. Although its jn Port Moody it's a quick access to Vancouver even by car, and to be honest we found good places to eat right nearby and things like beverages and snacks within easy walking distance. Pet friendliness also a bonus for us. Marta is the kind of hostess that makes AirBnB work. Thanks guys!

  • Marta's place was very comfortable and welcoming. It fit our group of four nicely and was very clean and tidy. Marta was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The location itself is perfect as well as it is close to some very cute restaurants and stores and only 30 minutes away from Downtown Vancouver. We will definately be staying here again if it is available for our next visit.

  • Good location if you don't want to be in the main city. There's a lovely park nearby which is lovely for walking/running and the playground is good for children. It was a shame that the splash park wasn't open for the season yet!

  • Marta was a very gracious host, even though we weren't able to meet in person. Due to poor planning on our part (forgot our passports at home) we didn't get into BC until very late at night. Marta texted all the information we needed, and also answered a couple of late night phone calls. She was very thorough and communicative about the house and house rules.

The home itself was absolutely perfect! We had a crew of 8 people and we all slept and socialized comfortably. The price cannot be beat for a large group of people (or family) and it is fairly close to Vancouver (just a 40 minute drive.) The pictures of the home are nice, but seeing it in person was even more impressive - Marta has decorated it in a very sophisticated, yet homelike and comfortable, fashion.

The town of Port Moody itself is cute; there are some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time to walk to the water or enjoy more than eating out and playing at the bars, but from what we saw the mountain foothills and bay looked beautiful.

I would definitely stay with Marta again and encourage others to try out this fun home!

About
I am a world traveler with many stories and experiences and have recently moved to Vancouver to settle. I have many interests but I think what I monopolies my time with most is cooking, learning, the outdoors and art. I am a product designer and my husband is a chef, we spend a lot of time cooking and entertaining and generally keeping busy perfecting our home with D.I.Y. projects. We are both very easy going, hard working and simply, we're people people ;-)
