Our stay could NOT have been any better. The studio was spacious & had lots of room. It's exactly what I wanted & needed. The Brookhaven neighborhood is so cute, relaxing, peaceful, and yet so close to Peachtree Street and the Lenox and Buckhead areas. Rita was very attentive to us & anything we needed she would provide. We stayed for 2 weeks and she even cleaned our sheets and towels twice. Rita was very quick to respond if we needed anything. She gave us access to park in her garage & with our own entry, it felt like the perfect little cottage.
Rita's studio was our first stop during our road trip through the South and it was great.
The apartment is clean, nicely/comfortably furnished and in a quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe here. It is located close to Buckhead which was very convenient for us. Also, Kroger (grocery store) and Starbucks are within walking distance.
Rita provided us with clean towels, water bottles and some fresh fruit. She made us feel very welcome the entire time and stressed the fact that we could always text her in case we needed anything.
About the bugs: Yes, there were some daddy long-legs, but this is the South! You're going to have bugs in you're home. You either squash them or let them be - really not a big deal. It didn't bother us.
All in all, Rita is a very sweet host and we would definitely stay with her again.
We were immediately enamored with our warm and gracious host, Rita. Prior to the trip, I’d read all the reviews and knew that the only negative one related to a couple of small bugs spotted, and I believe that review was over a year ago. Stepping into the place, I largely concurred with other happy guests, finding the place exactly how it looked in pictures: cozy, clean, and comfortable. As others mentioned, there is no kitchen, the place is in the lower level of Rita’s home adjacent to a garage, with a completely separate/private entrance, and access to the garage for overnight parking. The neighborhood is gorgeous and very close to Buckhead.
We were in town to visit family and friends; my boyfriend knows the city well having previously lived in Atlanta for over 10 years. We had our teenage daughter and our infant with us. We had ample space, and could have fit even more people comfortably.
Planning to dine out mostly, the lack of kitchen space was no problem. What was a little problem was navigating our rented SUV down the narrow driveway and trying to fit it into the small garage. The driveway is especially difficult to navigate because it winds and curves down a hill through shrubbery. Going down is one thing, but trying to back out was difficult. I would suggest parking on the street (even though Rita advised against it because some of her neighbors are nosy).
Our other complaint: a few baby roaches were spotted. And then a large spider. And then another nice-sized spider. And then a few mosquitoes (which in all honesty, maybe we let in?)… Not a huge problem, but once you see bugs, it really makes you uncomfortable walking around barefoot, sleeping in someone else’s sheets, and leaving your luggage open or clothing lying about (not to mention the baby’s things!). Again, we were not terribly upset, but bugs are a problem. We know this place is adjacent to a garage, but with so many visitors, it would seem worthy of the hostess to invest in extermination services periodically.
The other thing we noticed, which is purely cosmetic, is that some of the furniture is pretty shabby. One of the couches is wobbly and close to breaking, the mirror in the bedroom is held in place by a hair band, the lamps are a little shaky, etc. Nothing major, just something to note.
Lastly, because the AC has to be adjusted by Rita from upstairs, there were times we were really warm. We had to ask twice to have the AC adjusted. The first time, she adjusted it. The second time, she was away from her phone and did not. Again, just something to be aware of as it can get pretty hot in Atlanta!
Overall, we loved Rita and the space suited our needs, but we were unhappy to find bugs. Everything else could be taken in stride, but we could not adapt to bugs crawling around.
We had a great experience at this studio. Rita, the owner, was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The size of it is (email hidden)ally gives you space to spread out if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The neighborhood is lovely and located not too far from a main road, Starbucks, a few decent restaurants. I would highly recommend it.
Was lovely staying at Rita's. She's a fantastic host and the apartment is great. It's also situated in a beautiful neighbourhood. We'd definitely stay again.
Nice place in a big house on a quiet street. I recommend it.
This is a cute, quite little studio in a great location near Marta (public transportation) and in walking distance to Starbucks, a grocery store and handful of restaurants. The space is clean and quiet and nicely decorated. here is no kitchen, but Rita supplies a coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge. There is a private entrance and the house is in a safe, quiet neighborhood. Rita is a wonderful hostess and accommodating hostess!
I'm so grateful that I found Rita's place. It was clean and very comfortable. Rita was a fantastic host. She went out of her way to make sure everything was just right for my stay. Her place is very close to Buckhead and in a very nice neighborhood. I definitely will stay again when I come back to visit Atlanta. I will recommend her to anyone!!
Being from Atlanta and knowing where I wanted to stay, Rita's place was perfect. Not only did it meet my requirements, the studio itself and Rita as a host were wonderful. As in most reviews, you have plenty of space and the added bonus of a garage to use while staying. Rita is warm and makes you feel welcome from the start. This location was key for me as there is some of the best dinning close by with a Starbucks and grocery store less than a mile away. Easy access to the two main highways that will get you anywhere in Atlanta or Georgia for that matter. If you don't stay there you will miss out on a great gem in Atlanta!
Great unit right on the outside of Buckhead in the Brookhaven area. We had full use of the garage and our own private entrance, etc. Perfect stay!
