  • Loved this house - open and airy but with plenty of private spaces for our group of 6. Larry was the perfect host and gave us candid and spot-on advice about restaurants and things to do in the city. We couldn't have asked for a better house/neighborhood, host or stay in Austin. And although we were ALL OVER the the city during our 4-day stay (mostly via B-cycle - do it) , I'd stay at Larry's again just to be so close to Torchy's (not an exaggeration).

  • We had an excellent stay at Larry's fabulous Austin home and only wished it had been longer. We even resisted the sirens of local fare one evening to stay at the house, grill, and enjoy the lovely yard. Larry made everything very navigable and low-key, and he provided some excellent local recommendations (including our favorite, the "overrated" list, ha). The house was around the corner from great tacos, in walking distance to a ton of other things, and also very accessible to downtown (we did have a car). I hope to return!

  • This is our second time staying at Larry's and it only gets better! The layout is nice and open and very unique. We had such a great time and looking forward to returning again! We missed the company of Larry, but hopefully next time we will be able to catch up!

    Thanks Larry!

  • Larry is an absolutely fabulous host and I'm hoping to stay at his lovely house in Austin again! (Hoping for better weather though ;-)
Great and very helpful communication long before we boarded our flight and a well stocked fridge really made us feel welcome! Thanks, Larry!

  • We came to Austin for a girls weekend and chose Larry's place because of it's space, style, and fantastic proximity to delicious food! Larry was an incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to provide advice and recommendations and help us prepare for our trip (side note: he's right, DEFINITELY go to Olivia restaurant!). When we arrived we were greeted by a beautiful, bright, clean home as well as a welcome note, some snacks and a six-pack of beer! Larry was very flexible with our schedule and checking in and out was a breeze. Our group had 7 people so I slept on the couch which worked out surprisingly well! It is tucked away in a little nook and is comfortable with fairly firm cushions. All of the girls mentioned how great the Airbnb experience was (t'was a first for most of them); this booking definitely recruited 6 new users! I cannot say enough good things about Larry and I would confidently recommend him as a host!

  • My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Larry's modern home in South Austin for a long weekend. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from downtown and walking distance (or a really short drive) to all the quirky shops and restaurants on South First and South Congress Streets.

One thing we particularly appreciated was the amazing kitchen with the awesome range top and counter spaces for pre-dinner drinks or full meals when we weren't eating out. It's a comfortable space with plenty of chairs and stools for everyone.

Larry's communication is excellent, with direct contact before during and after our stay, and a very thorough and helpful guidebook for the house and the local attractions.

I would recommend Larry's house to any medium to large party looking for a comfortable place to stay while checking out one of America's finest cities!

  • Larry's place was modern, yet his personal style and touches gave a homey charm to it. We stayed there with another couple, and the layout was perfect with the Master set away from the two additional bedrooms...plenty of privacy. The house location was perfect and close to pretty much everything you'd want to see in town. I don't think it took us more than 10 minutes to get everywhere we went.

Larry was great about getting us settled and making sure everything was ready for us when we arrived. He even mailed us a house key ahead of time due to his traveling schedule. He checked in with us via email and answered all of our questions right away. His information sheets about the house and things to do in Austin were thorough and helped make our trip fun and easy. We can vouch for many of his restaurant suggestions!

All in all, Larry's place was a major reason we enjoyed Austin so much. We felt like we got a true taste of the City and what it would feel like to live there. We're already talking about how much we miss Larry's place. We'd definitely stay there again.

  • Overall I would highly recommend Larry and this place.

The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of bed space and the kitchen was great. The stay was very relaxed and comfortable.

The location was very convenient, within a short drive from the airport, south congress and downtown. Lots of great food nearby, I personally recommend Torchy's, some of the best tacos I've had. Make sure to get the queso and chips.

Larry was a great host, very friendly and easy to work with. Plus he had some awesome recommendations for food.

  • Great house, great location, beautiful watercolors! Comfortable beds, clean, well appointed kitchen and furnishings. Would stay there again, happily.

  • My friends and I stayed 6 days for the Ironman 70.3 triathlon and Larry was a great host! The house is big and modern, comfortable couches and a big tv for hanging out, all the kitchen equipment you could need. It was easy to get to downtown and 6th street and a only a moderate walk to the cute SoCo shops. Close to the grocery store and CVS and more importantly, delicious Torchy's Tacos. Larry left a great visitors guide for us too which we took advantage of. All and all, perfect if you're looking for a convenient place to make a home base while you're in Austin.

Yo Airbnb peeps - have been letting out rooms and mi casa for years, and so far so good! I'm a freelancer living with my yellow lab Charlie, and we travel pretty extensively around the country, and usually can make arrangements without too much notice. Work with screenwriting and portrait brokerage takes me both east and west. Per the purchase of this house, enjoy having folks over to cook and watch movies or good tv on my big screen, being close enough to downtown to hop on the bus to avoid parking, etc., having places to walk the dog, and be within a stone's throw from my favorite things about Austin: -great food -South Congress Neighborhood -the South Austin Tennis Center -Barton Springs Pool and Greenbelt -The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema -Downtown/ Hike and Bike Trail/Zilker Park -Easy access to 71/290 and the Hill Country Having been a blogger and online reviewer of Austin, do my best to keep a finger on the pulse of this city that never fails to amaze me, and am happy to point folks in the direction of things I find to be authentically Austin. Lodging-wise: If you take the whole house, will provide ample info and leave you to your leisure. If you take the back master bedroom (or if I come to your airbnb property), I aim for a pleasant coexistence while I do my own thing. Life motto? "Be the person your dog thinks you are."
