Description

The Space

This is a spacious private room with shared bath in a unique, colorful San Francisco, Bernal Heights home with plenty of street parking!

A fifteen minute walk away from the vibrant Latino Mission District or Bernal's lovely Cortland Avenue which offers a fabulous choice of excellent restaurants.

The home opens onto a magical, park-like garden with many terraces where guests can enjoy views of San Francisco, watch the birds, listen to the relaxing sounds of the "WaterContraptions" or just enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine.

The Saffron Sanctuary is a colorful and spacious room and has both a comfortable double size bed and a single bed.

There are two shared bathrooms in the house available to guests, each has a shower and one has a tub. The airy kitchen is fully equipped and available for use by guests.

There is also a nice outdoor living area/chill space with a guest fridge, kettle, coffee maker, microwave and toaster - a nice place to hang out and meet other guests.

Guest Access

Guests have access to their rooms, both bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, outdoor kitchen/chill space and the many terraced garden.

Interaction with Guests

We live in the home and are happy to offer sightseeing suggestions and advice on our best to enjoy our beautiful city.

Interaction depends on the guests preference, but we greatly enjoy meeting and getting to know our guests!

The Neighborhood

Bernal Heights was voted by online real estate company Redfin as America's #1 neighborhood! It sits just above the Mission District, our vibrant Latino neighborhood.

It has the best weather in San Francisco. It has the best views. It has a safe, friendly village feel to it.

A fifteen minute walk will take you to Cortland Avenue, a lovely shopping street complete with healthy grocery market, unique gift store, yoga, massage, library, bank and art galleries. There you will find a multitude of delicious eating establishments offering Japanese, Nepalese, Peruvian, Italian and California cuisine, excellent coffee shops and bakeries.

Right outside our door is Bernal Hill, a beautiful piece of parkland that affords a 360º view of San Francisco. Come here for sunrise, sunset or for star gazing!

Don't miss our Alemany Market which becomes a fabulous Farmers Market on Saturdays and a Flea Market on Sundays.

Getting Around

The fastest and easiest way to get around town or from the airport is to download the UBER app to your smart phone.

If you use the code jeannies15 you will get your first ride free! Uber Pool is the least expensive choice. If that is not available choose UberX.

The convenient MUNI 67 bus line stops right across the street and will take you to the 24th Street BART station in five minutes.

BART will take you downtown in minutes.

MUNI buses connect here to all points in the city including Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf, AT&T Park, all museums and city attractions.

STREET PARKING IS REALLY EASY AND FREE ON OUR STREET! Just be sure to read the street cleaning signs.

From SFO the least expensive option is a BART/MUNI ride which takes about 50 mins. A taxi/rental car will take about 20 mins.

Hi, I'm Jeannie. My husband and I love to host guests in our home.

We want to provide our guests with privacy while also offering them travel and local recommendations based upon our 35 years as San Franciscans. We enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.

We enjoy spending time in our garden and with our family, we enjoy live music, eating good food, traveling to new and exciting destinations, snorkeling, camping, and sunshine.

One of our favorite things to do is to travel simply and affordably by either camping or staying in homes so that we get to really experience the culture and people of the region we are visiting.

For us Airbnb is a wonderful way to travel but also through hosting a way to meet new people from all over the world while staying at home!

Skate and I look forward to meeting you!
