Bernal Heights was voted America's #1 neighborhood! It sits just above the Mission District, our vibrant Latino neighborhood.
It has the best weather in San Francisco. It has the best views. It has a safe, friendly village feel to it.
A fifteen minute walk will take you to Cortland Street, a lovely shopping street complete with healthy grocery market, unique gift store, yoga, massage, library, bank and art galleries. There you will find a multitude of delicious eating establishments - Japanese, Nepalese, Peruvian, Italian, Mexican, California cuisine, excellent coffee shops and bakeries.
Right outside our door is Bernal Hill, a beautiful piece of parkland that affords a 360º view of San Francisco. Come here for sunrise, sunset or for star gazing!
Don't miss our Alemany Market which becomes a fabulous Farmers Market on Saturdays and a Flea Market on Sundays.
The convenient MUNI 67 bus line stops right across the street and will take you to the 24th Street BART station in five minutes.
BART will take you downtown in minutes.
MUNI buses connect here to all points in the city including Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf, AT&T Park, all museums and city attractions.
STREET PARKING IS REALLY EASY AND FREE ON OUR STREET! Just be sure to read the street cleaning signs.
From SFO the least expensive option is a BART/MUNI ride which takes about 50 mins. A taxi/rental car will take about 20 mins.

Jeannie and Skate are awesome! They welcomed us at the door and showed us their beautiful home - the city and bridge views from the garden really are spectacular! The room was exactly as described. The nearby Mission neighborhood (walkable - but the walk back up the hill is a workout) was fascinating. For a great restaurant the Precita Park Cafe at the bottom of the hill is fantastic. Overall, highly recommended!
Beautiful house and great location. It was a lovely stay and definitely enhanced my vacation.
I work at Airbnb and booked Jeannie and Skate's place for a special guest of ours. I am SO happy I did. Not only are Jeannie and Skate incredibly gracious hosts (not to mention funny and talented), but their home and garden are absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to believe a place like this even exits in the city.
Magical only begins to describe it.... I can't wait to book again in the future!
Jeannie and Skate are welcoming and warm and their home is a wonderland of eclectic art. We especially enjoyed the amazing garden and the quick hike up to Bernal Heights with it's incredible views and friendly people walking their dogs. Our room was comfortable and private and we met some interesting fellow travelers as well. Thank you Jeannie and Skate!
It was simply amazing.
Jeannie and Skate are wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. They have a really cool terraced backyard with many nooks to have breakfast or enjoy a drink and watch over SF. I can rave about this backyard forever. It's so gorgeous!
They live right next to a bus stop so it's really easy to get around SF without having to drive. A great amenity since SF parking is notoriously hard to find.
The wonderful hosts, gorgeous backyard, friendly cats and close transportation make this the best spot for exploring SF. I would love to visit again.
Jean nice and skate were very welcoming to us when we arrived. The house is situated in a lovely part of San fran with very easy access to transport etc. Everyone was very polite and easy going. the room and bathroom was very tidy so no complaints. Thank you for having us - Jarrod, Erin & Tara
I felt very welcome. Jeannie and Skate showed me around right away--where the kitchen and extra bathroom were--and invited me to tour their gardens anytime. They were very knowledgeable about getting around San Francisco and took the time to answer all my questions. The manual in the room had all the information a visitor would need; it was great. The listing was very accurate and the neighborhood was great for walks, several parks and lots of neighborhood streets. Cortland Street was very close and has a lovely supermarket, several coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants.

About the Host, Jeannie And Skate
Hi, We're Jeannie and Skate and we are looking forward to meeting you!
We love to host guests in our home. We want to provide our guests with privacy while also offering them travel and local recommendations based upon our over 30 years as San Franciscans. We always enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.
We like spending time in our garden and with our family, listening to live music, singing karaoke, eating good food, traveling to new and exciting destinations, snorkeling, camping, and sunshine.
One of our favorite things to do is to travel simply and affordably by either camping or staying in homes so that we get to really experience the culture and people of the region we are visiting.
For us Airbnb is a wonderful way to travel and meet new people while still staying at home!
