We have updated all the appliances in the home and added a fab back patio. Additionally, the 2nd bedroom now has a queen-sized sofa sleeper. We're hoping to have some photos taken SOON to reflect the changes. Rest assured, you'll love it here!

This private 2bed/1bath residence accommodates 4 comfortably, has all the amenities you need in a home and is extremely convenient for quick access to downtown (10 mins) and Zilker Park (15 mins). There are nearby LOCAL restaurants, grocery stores, retail shopping, bars, coffee shops, a juice bar, a farmer's market, a park with trails you can walk to, and whatever else you desire in Austin! Of course, the home has wifi, as well as great parking, coffee makers, washer/dryer, dishwasher, outdoor grill, and an outdoor living & dining area. The interior of the home has a fun mid-century modern and artistic aesthetic. It is kept clean by a weekly housekeeping service, so you can be assured a healthy environment during your stay!
We have lived here for 8 years and love the simple, functional and vintage charm the home offers. Everyone who visits comments on the coziness and the good energy that seems to radiate from the space. You're sure to enjoy our easily accesable single family residence...Austin's main vein, IH35 is just at the end of the block and it will take you where ever you want to go!
A little about us: I'm Dating, Sex & Relationship Coach. My work (and life) is centered around optimal nutrition, meaningful work, uplifting relationships, daily exercise, and a personal spiritual practice (yoga for me). I've found this formula capable of producing a "Perfectly Balanced Body~Mind~Spirit", and ultimately a "Life of Passion". Beyond work, my passion in life consists of TRAVEL...exploring and experiencing as much of the world and it's wonders is my top (website hidden) is another favorite of mine. Whether it's for my man or a group of friends, it's always creative and expressive and yummy!! Matt is an entrepreneur focused on inspiring and enabling the world to do what it loves. Travel is a top passion for him, and enjoying my cooking is up there too! We have 2 wonderful weenies, Copper & Penny, and one sweet cat, Cleo, who would be around but not necessarily in the house during your visit. We might ask you to feed her if we have not made other arrangements.
We're offering our home to travelers who live life consciously. Meaning, you would acknowledge this space as your own, treating it with care and consideration. You could stay at a comfortable, yet impersonal hotel. But my guess is you want something more "home-like", with character and charm. This little bungalow offers exactly that, made so by the positive energy and deep gratitude that fill its walls. I hope you are drawn into the comfort and ease the same way I was :).
We live in Delwood 2, a small vintage neighborhood with lots of trees and super cool people. Mueller is a trail's walk away with a central park, food trucks, coffee shops, grocery, numerous restaurants, and other conveniences.
Capital Metro (bus) stops just a couple blocks away. Austin is also fortunate to have Lyft and Uber. Or bring your bike! Austin is super cycle-friendly.
Other Things to Note
We're pretty proud of our in-home coffee bar...it will be stocked and ready to support your Austin adventures!
A note about the "bed type": there is one king size temper-pedic bed and a firm queen-sized sofa sleeper.
As for house rules, all the obvious stuff...No smoking, No trashing/busting stuff up, No going through my personal belongings (I will remove all valuables, but I can't take everything I own out of the house). Seriously, I just expect you to treat the home and it's contents with respect. We'll talk on the phone pretty extensively prior to guest approval, so those conversations will be the final deciding point.
Colette's house is cute, nicely decorated, clean and located immediately off of I35.
I was in town for SXSW so things were a little more hectic than usual in Austin. Location-wise, this was not my first choice to stay only because I would have preferred being able to walk, bike or take public transit more easily but given the event and how crazy prices get, I was really excited to come across Colette's place - it's only about 3.5-4 miles from downtown. For the most part, cabs came within 10 minutes of calling but there were a couple of times where I felt a little stranded because I had to wait so long (but keep in mind that it was SXSW!).
Colette was a really great host - especially given that I had the honor of being her first airbnb guest. We spoke on the phone before I arrived and emailed/texted a few times. She left notes around the house for me and let me borrow things like her hair dryer.
I was the only one staying here and her place could have comfortably accommodated a group of 3-4. I would recommend Colette's place as a place to stay but would suggest renting a car (when being in town for a huge event like SXSW) to get around - she has plenty of parking.
Also, she mentions this in her description, but she does have a cat (who only stayed outside when I was staying there). So if you have cat allergies or don't like cats, this is not the place for you. I left a bowl of food & water for the cat each morning of my stay (which Colette and I had worked out before I arrived).
About the Host, Colette
Hi there! I'm Colette...My boyfriend, Matt, and I are eager to explore as much as possible. When we're not building our businesses, travel, food, people and unique experiences are a few of the things we enjoy. We're both creative and appreciate a variety of cultures. We have friends and family all over the world, and when traveling, we prefer to live "like locals," enjoying the non-tourist aspects of cities, neighborhoods and accommodations. The places we stay and the people we stay with are as important to us as where we visit. We hope to meet like-minded people along this journey and maybe even host our new friends back home in Austin, TX!
We welcome all questions and look forward to visiting with you.
