  • My friends and I stayed for a night at Claire's apartment! We had 9 people although the place can only accommodate 8 comfortably, but we were ready to squeeze so it was okay! The apartment is a basement of a big house which is roomy and clean, there's 3 bedrooms inside. The apartment is about 25mins away from downtown, 3mins walk from 24 hour Walgreens and 10mins to Fred Meyer, which is really convenient. There was some issues with the wifi but we resolved it anyway. The only downside is that the apartment has only 1 restroom, so we got to take turns to shower at night! All in all we really love the place and the privacy/freedom Claire had given us! Thank you Claire!

  • This is a big basement apartment in a hostel-like building on a busy street, within walking distance of great restaurants.

The decor is fun, the furnishings are cozy, but the price is too high for a student-quality apartment. Everything was clean, but worn out. The quality of the kitchen and utensils makes it hard to cook. The bedding is very old and worn, so it's hard to feel like the bed is clean.

The heat was broken when we stayed and it never got fixed, so it was very cold the entire week.

If you need to sleep 6 people in a cool neighborhood, this is probably a good choice. If you want a nice alternative to a hotel, this is not the right place.

  • Claire was one of the most thorough hosts I've seen. Left me with a list of instructions that covered basically every question I had. I actually texted her with questions a few times only to realize that the answer was already on the list...

The place was awesome too :) I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking in the area.

  • Claire's place is quite spacious and located in a great neighborhood of restaurants, shops, and bars. It was a great home base for exploring the city on both foot and by car. I was traveling with my dog and found the neighborhood great for walking her. Claire was even kind enough to leave her a treat. Overall - a good location, spacious apartment and informative host.

  • Great area, apartment is a basement and awkward to find the entrance when we arrived late at night, you must walk up the driveway. and then it is a flight of stairs in the back of the house down to the basement apartment. Myself and 2 friends used this as homebase for a week, the master bedroom is comfy and the comfort level goes down from there, not bad but realistic (the 3rd bedroom has an aeromatress on a frame).

    Response from Claire:

Yes, I can see how the apartment would be hard to find at 2am after traveling across the country. I try to provide detailed instructions as to how to locate my place. If you have a car or are arriving via taxi you can pull all the way into the driveway and park. The "flight of stairs" is 7 steps. And yes the 3rd bedroom/office has a queen size aerobed that is on a frame, not on the floor.
