Home to Sheppard Air Base, Midwestern State University, and the Hotter n Hell 100 bike race, as well as a slew of other attractions, this extremely comfortable home is directly adjacent to the country club/country club cottage area in Wichita Falls-the perfect area for a relaxing, shaded walk, run or bike ride. It's walking distance to Parker Square, which features Cinemark Theatre with stadium seating, Ganache cupcake lounge and wine bar, Jason's deli and so much more!
This bright open space has 2 spacious, well appointed bedrooms, with extremely comfortable king and queen sized beds. There is a private study with an optional queen sized air mattress, for extra guests. The recently updated bathroom down the hall has everything you need and more, including a small selection of toiletries, just in case.
The completely renovated kitchen just calls out for use with it's beautiful granite countertop and everything the experienced cook would need, including a bar opening up the space to the dining area, just waiting for your guests to sidle up to and chat.
In addition to all of this, there another room with a lounge chair for relaxing/reading, a small desk where you're welcome to setup your laptop and go to work if need be, and a piano to bang around on.
Add in the gorgeous living room prime for entertaining or just kicking back to watch a movie on the flat screen and you'll soon find you don't want to leave! I have cable television, complete with DVR and a blu-ray player. More than you can watch in a lifetime if you decide to kick back for a little downtime.
When you add all of this and the ease of access to hiking, biking, golfing and more, the only question is, why isn't your vacation here yet?
Interaction with Guests
I am always available, should you have any questions. Basically, it depends on how much contact you, as a traveler, like during your trip!
The mature trees and consistent quietness of the neighborhood are my favorite aspects of it, and it's close proximity to the country club makes for great walks or bike rides, if you're up for it.
Basically you have a tucked away, restful place that just happens to be in close proximity to all the main areas of Wichita Falls!
No smoking inside the house.
Shannon met us at the house and we walked through together. She explained how a few things worked and said to call if we needed help with anything. The house was exactly as described. We had a family reunion which was comfortable and convenient. Six of us stayed in the house and a few others joined us for meals. There was plenty of room and everyone was delighted with the cozy decor and plentiful kitchen accessories. This house was perfect for us.
Shannon was an excellent host. She greeted me personally and even had some cookies set out for us. Great touch! House was as described, very nicely decorated and comfortable. Great for Midwestern State traveling students. I will be back again.
Shannon was a wonderful host. We arrived on time and the place was remarkably maintained and as pictured, though even better. Shannon met us and showed us around. She left us cookies and refrigerator essentials. Her style is wonderful, making the house a real gem and creating a comfortable and interesting atmosphere. She, and the house, were all we could have hoped for. It made coming "home" a treat. We hope to continue the experience over and over again as we return to see friends and family.
The house was very comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and functional. Shannon was the perfect hostess. We felt safe in the neighborhood and the location was central. We will be back. Great place!
Great house and a great experience!
Shannon was an excellent hostess! Offered to meet us and get us oriented though we didn't need it.
The house was very clean and organized, yet cozy and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. It is nicely furnished and though an older home it has been updated with modern appliances and other touches. Shannon had purchased some food for us which was a nice touch and much appreciated!
The house is well situated being only a few blocks from 3 major thoroughfares and Midwestern State University, yet the neighborhood was very quiet and there was little traffic in the area.
The carport was a great plus since we didn't have to leave the car in the hot sun on an asphalt parking lot at a hotel.
We'll be back!
We are happy to have found for our first stay in US and Texas Shannon's house. The description was perfect and corresponds to what we have found. Her house was comfortable and cozy accommodation with all that is desired in travel. Not only, but important: hairdryer for the ladies, a quiet place for the men and a large TV service for the boy. We have received a small impression of life in a Texas town, from the manicured surroundings, the friendly neighbors and what it means to live in a hot and dry country. Thanks to Shannon for the peek into their beautiful decorated privat environment. Shannon great host and she was immediately in support when we needed help.
Listing was exactly as described. Everything was super smooth. Host left a nice welcome bag of toiletries as well which was appreciated. Fast response as well (we booked the day of).

I'm a very friendly, outgoing person-and I typically am a font of information when it comes to local eateries and entertainment. I LOVE to travel, and one of my favorite things about airbnb is that it can bring the travel to you, in a sense. I get to meet new people with so many different stories, and it's really incredible.
Look forward to talking to you soon!
