Sunny floor-through apartment with private entrance in the Garden Floor of our Park Slope Brownstone with garden access. This is a classic Brownstone in a typical tree-lined block between 5th and 6th Avenues, in the heart of Park Slope.
Park Slope's 5th Avenue - attractive for visitors from all over New York and the Greater Metropolitan Area for its hip boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants - is around the corner. Our block itself is very quiet and neighborly. Beautiful Prospect Park with Long meadow, Picnic House, the Bandshell, Audubon Center, Zoo and Iceskating rink is 3 blocks up the road.
Excellent subway connections to Manhattan (R, N/D B/Q, 2/3). Downtown Manhattan is a 20 minute subway ride away. Atlantic Terminal with LIRR connections to Long Island can be reached by foot or bus within 15 minutes.
The Brooklyn Museum, Barclay's Center and Brooklyn Botanical Garden, as well as bars, cafes and restaurants are in close vicinity.

Gisela was very gracious in accommodating my last minute request. However I was very disappointed in my stay at the apartment. It is very spartan with barr board floors and no carpet. The rooms did look as they appeared in the pictures but you don't get a sense in the pictures of how lifeless they are. The bathroom is so small it barely fits one person.
The neighborhood is great, very convenient to subways, stores and dining.
I would recommend this place to younger couples looking for a place to leave their clothes and go sightseeing. I would not recommend it to an older traveler such as myself.
I really loved my stay in Gisela's garden flat. I travel very frequently to NY for work and I love to stay in proximity to the Park Slope area to be near friends, my favorite Brooklyn spots, and so I can get a good run in the park. Because of this frequency, it's really important to me that each place I stay feels a bit like a home away from home. Gisela's flat was just that. I had the entire garden level of a Brooklyn Brownstone to myself. The flat itself maintains a lot of it's original charm. It was minimally appointed with everything I needed and had a surprisingly large and convenient kitchen. It's located really close to Union Market so I even cooked in one night! Gisela was very kind, punctual, and straightforward in our exchanges. Do note that the flat is below the main level of their house, so you can hear the occasional foot step or dog woof. But other than that, the street and surrounds are very, very quiet - and I LOVED falling asleep and waking up to the dingling wind chimes in their lovely backyard garden. All in all, I really liked staying here and would absolutely come back! Thanks Gisela!
A true Brooklyn experience in a lovely old Brownstone house. The apartment is stylish and clean on the ground floor. It is perfectly placed, on a quiet street within walking distance to everything you need. We spent three weeks here over Christmas and loved exploring the area. Prospect Park is fabulous. Access to the outside terrace and garden would be a huge plus in the summer.
I greatly enjoyed staying here. The location was wonderful, on a beautiful and quiet block, with countless bars and restaurants within a 5-minute walk. Public transit was close, and it took me about 25 minutes to get to my destination in lower Manhattan.
The space itself was excellent quality - clean, with quite a bit of space, and a very comfortable bed. The only negative about this apartment is that the bathroom is extremely narrow, with a small sink that made it somewhat challenging to rinse my face without splashing the floor. Everything else about the apartment was excellent.
Gisela was an excellent host, who was very accommodating of my late evening arrival time. I will gladly stay here again in future trips to New York.
Gisela made it a point to accommodate our arrival time, even as our flight was delayed. She was personally flexible and inviting. Made us feel welcome and offered great suggestions for dinner and taxi travel in the neighborhood. Dinner suggestions were *spot on*. The Park Slope neighborhood was quiet and quaint in all the best ways. 5th Avenue shopping and dining is literally around the corner. Everything is very convenient. The apartment is very clean and well kept. It is furnished with everything we needed.
PERFECT LOCATION! BEAUTIFUL BROWNSTONE STREET! CLOSE TO SO MANY YUMMY PLACES! LOVED OUR HOST....SHE GREETED US UPON OUR ARRIVAL AND ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD! SPACIOUS AND CLEAN APARTMENT, PRIVATE, CONVENIENT! WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN FOR SURE!
