My beautifully restored 1930's 2BD/2BA in historic Travis Heights neighborhood welcomes you to Austin. Walk to downtown, South Congress, The Long Center, and Palmer Event Center! I live here when not renting, so it is fully equipped and stocked with everything you need to feel at home. Plenty of parking. Perfect for SXSW, ACL, F1, Moto GP, COTA, UT events and downtown conferences. Its close to all the fun areas, but tucked back in a quiet neighborhood so you can relax in peace when you are here.
Beautifully restored, classic 1940's home in historic Travis Heights neighborhood. Home is just south of Town Lake (Lake Lady Bird Johnson), west of I-35 and only minutes to downtown, 10-15 minutes to airport. Very Centrally located. Great for UT football weekends, F1 race weekend, SXSW, ACL, Moto GP or just a fun Austin Vacation. Walk or bike to South Congress, which is full of restaurants and shops. There are several bus stops a couple blocks away.
Home is 2 bdrm, 2 full bath, fully appointed gourmet kitchen, open kitchen/living floor plan with eating bar - great for cooking w friends, and a separate dining room. Home has original hardwood floors, original doors with glass doorknobs, big windows with wood blinds for privacy, fully fenced backyard, parking in driveway, plenty of additional free parking on the street, gorgeous shade trees. Home has first class linens, pillows, appliances, wifi, HD TV with DVD player, and washer/dryer for your use. Blend of beautiful antique and sleek modern furniture. House is fully stocked and ready for your stay - just bring your clothes. You will find pantry basics such as: coffee, tea, sugar, milk, seasonings, oils, etc. I also provide: organic toiletries, laundry soap, maps, and list of my favorite nearby places.
2 Queen beds to sleep 4 people. One very comfortable couch can sleep one additional person and air mattress(es) can be set up in living room or loft bedroom to sleep up to 2-4 more for a total of 7-8 adults. Plenty of luxury linens and pillows for all.
Bdrm 1: upstairs, very private, loft style. Queen bed with brand new mattress. Allergy safe, synthetic down duvet; organic, Egyptian cotton sheets; plenty of hanging space and drawers for belongings.
Bdrm 2: downstairs, queen bed with brand new, natural, chemical free mattress. Allergy safe, synthetic down duvet; organic, Egyptian cotton sheets.
Full Bath 1: original, but fully renovated. Original hexagon tiles on floor, bath tub and shower with new shower head, textured glass window for privacy but nice sunlight in the morning. Plenty of hooks and towel racks for hanging. Super soft luxury towels and organic shower products.
Full Bath 2: Brand New!! Just added on to back of the house. Huge - 48in - walk in shower stall with natural stone tiles. Super soft luxury towels and organic shower products.
Sitting room: located adjacent to the 2nd bath, this provides a great space to get dressed, and do hair/makeup while freeing up the bathroom for someone else to shower. Has several hooks to hang towels.
Dining room: Vintage chandelier, antique table, modern chairs (for comfort), lively, colorful table linens. Wine, champagne, martini, and scotch glasses as well as water glasses
Kitchen: Fully appointed, recently renovated, gourmet kitchen has all you could possibly need to be able to cook wonderful meals while staying in the home. Granite counters; eating bar; gas stove/oven; dishwasher; Kitchen Aid stand mixer; Vitamix blender; coffee maker; french press; microwave; toaster over; wine fridge; custom cabinets; all the gadgets you could ever need; lots of dishes and silverware; serving platters.
Laundry: you are welcome to use the washer/dryer during your stay. Laundry soap/dryer sheers are provided.
Living room: comfy couch and 2 chairs, ceiling fan, open to both the kitchen and dining room.
Yard: Fully fenced, very private; terraced gardens and elevated deck; huge trees for lots of cooling shade; hammock.
Parking: You are welcome to park in the driveway. There is also plenty of parking on the street for additional vehicles.
Public Transportation: There are several bus stops a couple blocks away on Riverside Dr.
You will have access to the entire home - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living, dining, sitting room, driveway and yard. The front door has a keypad lock system and you will be given a code, so there are no keys to keep track off. There is a third bedroom in the back corner of the home which will be locked and you will not have access to.
Interaction with Guests
I will be gone so you will have use of the entire home. I'm happy to communicate via phone or email for any questions or concerns. If I'm traveling during your stay I will also leave contact information for a house manager who will be easy to get a hold of and can answer all your questions and provide assistance in case I am unavailable.
The best thing about this neighborhood is the location! You can walk to downtown, South Congress, the Long Center, Palmer Event Center, Auditorium Shores, The Convention Center, the hike and bike trail, Town Lake (lake lady bird johnson). An uber ride to all the best places is usually less than $10. And when you are done having fun and ready for some rest and peace, the house is tucked back in a quiet neighborhood. The best of both worlds!
The driveway is available for parking and there is plenty of street parking right in front of the house. There are several bus stops nearby on Riverside Drive. Austin has yellow cab, Uber and Lyft as well as car2go and bike share. Only 15 minutes from the airport.
Renter must be at least 25 years old.
A valid state ID, state driver's license or passport is required.
No parties or any other guests. This is in a private residential area. You are welcome to cook and entertain yourselves during your stay, I want you to have a wonderful time. But please respect my neighbors, keep noise to a minimum. Thank you.
