*****Peaceful haven with great access to Central London*****
Hi, we are renting out our beautiful, self-contained flat on the lower ground floor of our large, detached Victorian house. The flat is close to Wimbledon tennis and common. It is south of the river Thames and an easy tube ride to all London's attractions. The flat is a few steps down from street level. It has its own separate entrance and access to our lovely mature garden.
The flat can accommodate a total of 6 guests, and is ideal for a group of friends wanting to have a few days in London; anyone coming on business or pleasure who wants to have a relaxed and peaceful place to stay, or a family on holiday.
There is one large bedroom with a double bed. There is a smaller second bedroom with two single beds. The large sitting room has 2 sofas, one of which is a decent double sofa bed. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a bath with hand-held shower attachment. There is a second bathroom with walk in shower.
The kitchen has double doors which open onto the sitting room. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, hob, new cooker & fridge freezer and there is a breakfast bar with high stools. There is a dining table in the sitting room that can seat 6 people. It is 4 steps up to the large garden with a lawn, flower beds, vegetable garden, rose arbor down one side leading to the BBQ and a summer house.
Hosts: Annie and Peter
We live upstairs in the main body of the house and so are on hand to help with any problems or to give advice and suggestions for your stay in London.
- Bed linen and towels are provided
- Travel cot with bedding available
- Well equipped kitchen
- Central Heating
- Use of our lovely big garden
- Parking space for 1 car on our driveway (there is also pay and display parking available on the street)
We are roughly equal distance between East Putney and Southfields tube stations, both a 10-15 minute walk away on the District Line. It is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop, which goes to Clapham Junction - a major railway hub for lots of destinations including Gatwick airport - or a 15 min walk to Wandsworth Town overground station. To central London it takes around 30 - 45 minutes door to door.
Our house is set in a very leafy part of South London but with easy access into central London. There are local parks with playground facilities a few minutes walk away. The Wimbledon All England lawn tennis Club which hosts the annual grand slam championship in June/July is only a 20 minute walk. We have a great local gastropub called the Earl Spencer, which is a 5 minutes walk away. Nearby are the fantastic green spaces of Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common. Putney, Wandsworth and Southfields are all good for restaurants and shopping.
We don't really have any rules except to come and enjoy the delights of London!
A recommander.
The garden flat at Annie&Peter's is indeed spacious, warm, and brightly lit. I felt very comfortable and at home. Everything is there as needed for a week's stay. I appreciated the large bath for a nice soak, the comfortable bed, and the abundant natural light during the day.
We got to the apartment at 5 pm, having found it easy to get to, and Annie was there to greet us and after showing us the apartment, she even helped my partner Martin getting all our bits and pieces down the steps as I'm with crutches.
Annie then left us to get on with our stay, but with the knowledge that if we needed her, she would be on hand.
We loved that the parking was available, it felt like being at home and that it had a garden if the weather was good.
The area is great too, quiet, but just down the road you will find a hub of shops, eatery's, banks etc
Martin and I will defo stay again, and would have in July, but they are booked up already and i'm not surprised.
Thank you Annie
We were delighted by our stay in this charming and spacious garden flat. Annie could not have been more helpful, either prior to our stay, when we asked for a recommendation of a good gastropub in the vicinity, and also when we arrived. It was lovely to return from our trips into central London (where we were busy celebrating a "significant birthday" for my wife) to the calm and comforts of the flat. We liked the easy access to central London via the District Line - Southfields tube station is an easy 10-minute walk down a straight road. If you are a tennis fan, the premises of the Lawn Tennis association (where a full tour is bookable) are an easy 20-minute walk down the road. We should not hesitate to return to this lovely garden flat in the future, and thank Annie and Peter for their welcome. Our one regret was that the time of year rather ruled out our using the very pleasant garden, which we would certainly do on another occasion. Many thanks for our contribution in making a special weekend more than rise to our expectations.
It was very good experience. The flat was clean and well-equipped. I'd like to stay there again. From the flat it took some time to get to the downtown.
Beautiful house, beautiful neighbourhood and super-friendly hosts. The apartment is really well furnished, clean and equipped with everything one might need.
Annie and Peter were very friendly and gave us very useful information regarding the area.
Thank you for everything and...we will be back!
I am a midwife and Peter is an actor. We have lived in the same wonderful house in London for 26 years. We love travelling and have done lots over the years with our children, including a 6 month trip around the world.
We have 4 children, aged between 22 and 28, they are back and forth, sometimes living at home for awhile or turning up for Sunday lunch!
We are both very active and enjoy hiking / walking in different places in the world.
We both love food and will eat anything...we are very easygoing about where we stay and don't need lots of mod cons, we prefer beautiful scenery and meeting interesting people.
We have been Airbnb hosts since October 2012 and we love it, we've met so many interesting people from many different countries and look forward to meeting many more!
