The apartment itself is great and it's really confutable to live in. The location is quite lovely, close enough that you can walk to practically everywhere. The place looks much bigger than in the pictures and also newer than it actually is. The neighbourhood is safe and nice. Great catch!
-The towels were kind of moldy and had to buy my own.
-The freezer doesn't really work.
-There was little provided: I had to provide toilet paper, soap, garbage bags...
-There is a strip club right across but very quiet and decent.
-At night: the thin curtains in front of the door doesn't shield anything and people can see everything. Also it can be quite noisy with neighbours and karaoke, so if you're a light sleeper: earplugs.
-On hot nights, because the apartment is underneath a garden(?), ants get in the bathroom and kitchen.
However I wasn't as impressed with Christian. I'm used to North American customer service and I wasn't prepared for a total lack of professionalism. On the first day he was very cordial, waited for us, explained everything and was somewhat helpful.
He works on 'Italian time' meaning when he says he's going to show up at a certain time he'll come a few hours later or even a few days later.
I'll spare a lot of details, but he asked a lot of things aout of me that were his responsibility (like unclogging the sink if it clogged again...)
But then as time went on - (32 nights) - it got worse.
-Because of construction on the street the wifi broke. It took Christian 3 days to tell me what had happened and then three weeks for the wifi to be repaired. The delay isn't his fault, everything in Italy takes time but his response wasn't adequate. He sent me to the phone provider store to buy the stick on my own tourist time - where I waited for an hour and where no one spoke English - only to find out they didn't sell Internet sticks. They had routers but they were too expensive for Christian so me bought me a SIM card - which was very nice- however he failed to mention there was no network inside the apartment so it was useless.
At check out, Christian decided to charge me for the electricity bill instead of the air conditioning bill. When I tried explaining to him that I thought I should get a discount on this electricity bill (because we had no wifi for 3 weeks) - that was never mentioned in the online contract, so prepare for that one to come up - he started yelling at me and refused to hear me and then hung up on me when I asked him to be polite.
Conclusion the place is quite lovely if you're going to be there for a few days and you can avoid Christian. Otherwise look for someone friendlier somewhere else.
The Essential :
--I am sorry for wifi problem but it was not my fault and I offered Eve immediately alternatives at my expenses !
--Eve knows very well that there is to be paid an extra for energy bills with A/C on medium stay rentals which has been anyway discounted because cleaner has been there 3 times on MY EXPENSES !
-- apartment rentals for 1 month or more are normally self catering , anyway toilet paper has been provided for the first days
What Eve FORGETS to mention is :
APARTMENT OCCUPANCY has been for an entire week 4 ! and not 2 people WITHOUT having asked previous permission and having reserved and payed for 2 people !!!
For ALL the rest please read previous positive guest reviews !
Christian was great - he met us at the loft a couple hours after we planned because we got stuck in customs. Couldn't ask for a better location, a couple blocks from a grocery store, the train station, and the colosseum. The loft was well kept and very clean. Christian answered all of our questions and even gave us some great travel tips. Hope to be back soon!
We liked very much our staying in Cool Loft Style studio. Christian gave us recommendation how to get the studio from the Fumicino airport where we landed. Once we arrived, we received all guidelines regarding the studio, keys, appliances etc. The studio is very nice, based on the ground floor but having independent entrance. Location is great, not far from Termini but forget about railway station because just after Quatre Cantoni street a very cool hipster area begins (like East Village, Soho in NYC) with plenty of small shops and restaurants. The great Colisium, Forum, Circo Massimo, Venice place, via del Corso are 15 minutes walking, Santa Maria Maggiore Church is just 1 minute, Barberini palace with a very nice painting collection is 5 minutes walking from the studio.
The studio space is quite big, I was thinking it is smaller when I saw picture but in reality you have a very spacious hall, room with a sofa and the bed, charming kitchen and light bathroom. The only thing we had to buy was paper and napkins. Wi-Fi worked well (that was important!) Also it is written on the site that smoking is allowed but we did not smelt anything. I would recommend this studio for family (parents + 2 kids max) or friends company because is not that much expensive vs.other proposals and has a really great location in Rome.
Our stay in Rome was good. Christian was a good host and we had no problems with the house, it was clean and everything was in place.
However, I recommend that some blinds be placed in the front door of the apartment as there is only a courtain and considering that the apartment it is in the ground floor, people from the street can see inside. The place is a bit noisy and i recommend that guests buy earplugs.
Finally, the neighborhood is not the best as it is a bit dirty but it is very well located (next to termini and close to the Colosseum)
Christian was a very helpful host. When we checked in, he made sure we had everything we needed and gave us a good feel of the location we were in. The apartment was perfect for just the two of us, but the towels and bed sheets smelled a little stale and moldy so we had to go out and buy new ones for the time of our stay. The location was perfect, all the major attractions were within 15 minutes walking and we couldn't have been more centrally located.
Fantastic location and apartment. Christian was a great host who communicates very well. I would stay here again
Accueil tres agréable malgrè la barriere du langage et de bon conseil pour se situer dans les environs.
