We really enjoyed the stay at Ciara cottage. She provided us will all the needed informations. The cottage was very clean and wonderfully placed if you want to walk around the Glendalough vale. The first time we missed the entry of the cottage but after reading carefully the instructions, we easely find it.
I would recommend staying at Ciara's cottage.
My sister and I went to Ciara's cottage for a week end.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was really near the beautiful walks around the two lakes of Glendalough (accessible from the back garden !!)
The cottage is very cute, clean and warm when the Rayburn is on.
We really enjoyed the fireplace and Ciara even left some briquettes for us.
Ciara was extremely responsive by phone any time we would have a question.
I would definitely go again and would recommend it to everyone !
This little cottage is a treat! Ciara, my host, was very good about being in contact with me upon arrival and cleared up a minor glitch right away. The cottage is right off a main road, but it sits low and feels very private. You can walk out the back door and across the stream to easy hiking trails near the lakes. If you want to get adventurous, you can drive about 5min down the road to more secluded trails. It is a lovely area!
The cottage itself is great. The bed was large and comfy. The fireplace helped keep it warm in the (website hidden) on the range took a bit to figure out since I'm used to temp gauges, but it worked just fine. Definitely take time to enjoy the deep claw-foot bathtub. It was heavenly!
I would love to stay here again if I'm in the area!
Lovely house in a great location. Beautiful surroundings - lots of great walks in the vicinity.
Had such magical time. Amazing location with easy access to walking trails from the bottom of the garden! Very cosy, loved the open fire. Amazingly comfortable bed. Highly recommend a hot soak in the cast iron, four legged bath after a day hiking in wilderness. Bliss! And Ciara was very friendly, helpful and takes great care of her cottage. Thank you!
You can't get better views than this. On the day we arrived, we walked to the back door to see a gorgeous mountainside with sheep grazing. The cottage gave us exactly the country experience we were seeking. It was a big chilly (we visited in January), but Ciara was understanding and allowed us to run the stove for longer in the evening. It was incredibly clean and the bed was one of the more comfortable we have slept on. Ciara also provided very detailed driving instructions that we found very useful. This was an all-around great experience. My husband declared that he didn't want to leave on our last day. We recommend the Wicklow Heather Restaurant for a good meal and the best coffee and Baileys I have had.
