The site of ancients settlement best know as one of Ireland's earliest monastic settlements dating from the fifth century beehive huts, 10th century round tower and the later Romanesque Abbey. Lovely house in a great location. Beautiful surroundings - lots of great walks in the vicinity.
Had such magical time. Amazing location with easy access to walking trails from the bottom of the garden! Very cosy, loved the open fire. Amazingly comfortable bed. Highly recommend a hot soak in the cast iron, four legged bath after a day hiking in wilderness. Bliss! And Ciara was very friendly, helpful and takes great care of her cottage. Thank you!
You can't get better views than this. On the day we arrived, we walked to the back door to see a gorgeous mountainside with sheep grazing. The cottage gave us exactly the country experience we were seeking. It was a big chilly (we visited in January), but Ciara was understanding and allowed us to run the stove for longer in the evening. It was incredibly clean and the bed was one of the more comfortable we have slept on. Ciara also provided very detailed driving instructions that we found very useful. This was an all-around great experience. My husband declared that he didn't want to leave on our last day. We recommend the Wicklow Heather Restaurant for a good meal and the best coffee and Baileys I have had.
We had a fantastic couple of days at the cottage over New Year - the perfect place to get away from it all and within easy reach of Dublin. Lovely and cosy, all set up on arrival and great walking right from the bottom of the garden. All in all highly recommended.
Everything as advertised. Perfect location for rest, relaxation and plenty of fresh air. Had a v enjoyable stay.
