Design

Kitchen
Large, spacious, bright, double height ceiling with skylights and two double doors opening up to private decked courtyard with garden furniture. Italian limestone floors. Solid oak dining table to seat 6. Gas hob, 2 ovens(gas and electric), microwave, warming drawer, double ceramic sink, dish washer, fridge/freezer, pull out ironing board and steam iron.

Living Area
Open to kitchen. Solid limed oak paraquet flooring. U shaped modular sofa designed especially for the space with movable footstool for serious lounging!

Courtyard
Decked private, sheltered courtyard with lounge type garden furniture and outdoor lighting. Uniquely there's a honey bee hive on the main roof (you can see it from the ensuite bathroom window) In season the house comes with a sample of delicious Victoria Terrace honey. The bees collect pollen from the beautiful gardens of Airfield House, just a walk away and open to the public. Fear not they never come near the courtyard, they fly in the opposite direction, and you'll be completely unaware of their presence.

Bedroom
Small but good looking, and very comfortable (my friend described it as 'sleeping in a cloud') Double bed with high quality mattress and bedding. Italian limestone floor, underfloor heating, Lots of storage, and hanging space. Interesting collection of local travel books.

I like my guests to feel comfortable and genuinely at home. Relax in the living area, soak up some sun in the courtyard, cook and dine in the kitchen, and use the washer and dryer as needed. You'll have your own bathroom. I have an ensuite upstairs so I'll use that for the duration of your stay.

Interaction with Guests

I love meeting new people, but also will totally respect your privacy. So hang out in the communal areas, or enjoy tv and wifi in your room :-)

  • Where to begin? Words can’t describe how wonderful Sarah was. We booked our accommodations on very short notice and she was quick to respond. We were met by a friendly face, beautiful neighborhood, and amazing home. Nestled in a town called Dundrum behind a Dominos and yoga place – no one would have guess would sit a beautiful cottage. Easy access to the LUAS and to the heart of the city, with great restaurants in walking distance- this place is a hidden gem! Sarah was a pleasure to get to know, with an easy going personality – it was no wonder why her place wouldn’t be a reflection of this. We came to explore Ireland but left with a new friend! We can’t wait for our next visit to Ireland and our next stay with Sarah!

  • This was our first 'private room' Airbnb experience and we will definitely be doing it again. Sarah was a fabulous host - so friendly and welcoming. She was super busy packing to fly to Cape Town the next day, but still took the time to show me around and provide advice.

The apartment is, in my opinion, even nicer than in the photos. Great shower, extremely comfortable bed and everything you need to cook up a storm if you feel so inclined. Conveniently located 3 mins away from the Dundrum LUAS station, getting into the city was quick and easy. The LUAS runs until 12.30am and the late-night taxi we caught home on Saturday only cost £12.90. Great stay.

  • Absolutely great experience living in Sarah's house! Sarah has great taste on decoration. The house itself is very comfortable. I have been having sleeping problems after coming back because I was so used to her wonderful home : )

Sarah is warm and helpful. She is also very open minded and cool. She won't give you the feeling you are under her roof and have to obey her rules. Instead, she makes sure everything is taken good care of while still leave you the space to change things based on your habit to live more comfortable. For example, when I was there it was really cold outside. Sarah has very efficient heating system and she kept the house warm. But on her note to tenants, she still said feel free to increase the temperature if you are from a warm place : )

    Definitely nightly recommend!

  • Sarah's place was absolutely amazing! Her house is designed so elegantly and beautiful it was like living inside a painting! During our tours around Ireland I would look forward to going back home to the house!

I look forward to staying here again and would strongly recommend others to do the same!!

As a host, Sarah has been nothing short of spectacular! She raises a high standard for all airBNB hosts!

  • The perfect Dublin get-away! Beautifully designed living space. The bedroom was just right with everything I needed but more importantly a very warm and peaceful space where I got 3 good nights sleep. A very nice bathroom all to myself. Loved the little extras: chunky warm towels, organic avocado oil hand wash and essential oil shower gel in the bathroom. Sarah also brought me shampoo and conditioner when she realised I hadn't brought any myself. All mod cons in the kitchen making it easy to juice and prepare food. Only a few minutes walk from the tram station and from there less than 15 mins into Central Dublin (right next to Grafton St). Sarah is the perfect host, warm and welcoming, genuinely interested and yet unobtrusive and leaving you to get on with things your way. Everything perfectly thought out so that your stay flows smoothly. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Dublin. Next time I might hire the whole place and bring my family too!

  • Sarah and her home were delightful and clean. She had everything you needed. We were able to walk to some great restaurants. The home was just lovely with great designer touches. Highly recommend.

  • Sarah's house looks as good as it is.
She is a relaxed host, very kind and helpful. I stayed for one single night and was nice and comfortable. She had interesting books inside the room, concerning Dublin but not from a touristic point of view. I remember "Slow Dublin" and one with photographs showing Irish farmers and other characters.
The area is not interesting, unless you're interested in enjoying the biggest shopping mall in Europe... ;) Though one can reach the center in about 8 Luas stops.
The breakfast is great! I had pancakes with blueberries and tea was very nice too.

    Response from Sarah:

Thanks Rita. I love Dundrum! Stay more than a night next time and you'll agree. Mill Theatre, Mill pond Town Sq., Airfield House and 27 of some of the best restaurants in Dublin within a 10 min walk, ....and the only Harvey Nichols outside the UK ... All with a view of the Dublin Mountains and a 13 train journey to St Stephens Green :-)

  • Sarah was a fabulous and charming host! The house was beautyful, clean and lovingly furnished. The breakfast was delicious and a good start to the day! At our next trip to Dublin gladly again.

  • Sarah's home was exceptional and just perfect for our vacation! We rented the whole home for five nights and couldn't have made a better choice. Dendrum was an adorable town in itself so we "stayed home" one day - exceptional Big-City-style mall as well as amazing thrift stores. The LUAS train was super easy and it's very close to the home... drops you right at St. Stephen's Green. We slept in, ate breakfast at home with goodies provided, as well as market-finds (very inexpensive), went to town in the afternoons, came home at night - so nice to have a whole home to relax in - stay up late, play cards, etc. Sarah was traveling, but her mother Patricia went well out of her way to make our time perfect. Great communication with both Patricia and Sarah. Five plus stars all-around!

  • This home is so lovely. Full of natural light the home is a cozy oasis from downtown Dublin. Clean and well designed, even the tub is a treasure! Conveniently located only 13 minutes away from downtown Dublin by train it's a great place to stay that provides a unique view into life in Ireland.

Sarah's is a great host and a fantastic cook... her homemade breakfast was truly a delight and was a lovely way to start the day. She made sure I have everything that I needed to make my stay successful and had wonderful advice about her city.

About
I am delighted to welcome you to Victoria Terrace. I hope you love it as much as I do. I've signed up to Airbnb for many reasons. Firstly my friends say I'm a born hostess! I love to have people in my home. I have put my heart and soul into renovating it, and want as many people as possible to enjoy it as possible. I've always loved the idea of running my own boutique hotel, so this is like a really mini version of that. Also, I also love to travel. I work for freelance, and love the freedom that gives me. The joy of living in 2014 is that with my laptop, at certain stages of projects I can work from just about anywhere in the world with internet, which means my house, is free for you to enjoy. I also have a separate listing for my spare bedroom for when I am in town. Looking forward to welcoming you! Sarah
