The Space

UPDATE: We recently renovated this lower floor unit so now there are 3 separate rooms for your use, a bedroom, a bathroom, and the den that includes a second futon. The pictures are not yet updated, but all the same furniture, now with separate rooms.

Come stay in our beautiful row houses in Park View, a neighborhood blocks from Columbia Heights, Petworth, and the 11th st "hip strip". We are walking distance to Washington Hospital Center. Recently remodeled house, private garden, hammock, outdoor grill, . Wifi included, parking available. Walk to metro, bus, bike share, zip-car, car2go. We recently got married and our roommate who had the whole basement level to himself moved out. Now we rent on a temporary basis. Includes a bed, a futon, a television (no cable), and private bathroom. Private entrance in rear or entrance through house.

Our neighborhood is mixed income and very friendly. Our home is a half a block from a major road on a well kept tree lined street. There are great restaurants and bars a few blocks away ranging from authentic Ethiopian to savory Mexican to American style brew pubs's to romantic wine bars to hipster dive bars. Its a ten minute bus ride or bike ride to the heart of DC, the national mall. We bike to work just west of the White House everyday.

Columbia Heights Metro is about a 10 minute walk away, and major buses run up Georgia Avenue 2 blocks from our home.

  • I am in DC regularly on business and found Craig and Victoria's digs a great respite after a busy day. The basement suite is comfortable and private, and the wireless is great for my nightly (website hidden) with my family. The neighborhood is delightful, filled with school children in the mornings and fun restaurants in the evenings. Craig and Victoria have been wonderful hosts, welcoming and full of information - they've even helped me make a few business connections! I am staying here again and highly recommend others looking for a comfortable place in this busy city do likewise.

  • Craig and Victoria Isakow were amiable host and very accommodating. We arrived very late and Craig made a point to stay up to welcome us. My friend and I were obliged for their hospitality. Also, their residency was spacious for our needs and clean. I definitely recommended their living quarters..

  • Craig and Victoria were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and responded quickly to any inquiries we had. Their place is exactly as described and was comfortable place to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting DC.

  • We had such a wonderful stay in DC at Craig and Victoria's. They were great hosts. Our rooms offered plenty of privacy, and especially enjoyed getting to use the kitchen and visit! Their home and garden are beautiful and we much preferred staying with them as opposed to staying in a hotel.

  • Craig and Victoria were so kind and asked us many times how we were doing, if we needed anything, etc. We never did, but if we had, I was certain that I would have been addressed immediately. They're remodeling the space and it's almost done, and it's a great setup - really like a separate apartment in the bottom of their centrally-located home. We weren't able to enjoy the nice garden out back because we were working so much, but it was certainly a beautiful space. I'd definitely recommend their home to others!

    Response from Craig And Victoria:

Thanks Christie, we appreciate you choosing to stay with us. Keep up the great work and please think of us next time you are in DC.

  • Craig and Victoria were completely wonderful in every way. The steps down to the basement were being repaired and coming and going was a slight procedure, but they accommodated me on a super short notice due to a family emergency.

If you have any reason to need proximity to Washington Hospital Center, their place is a quick walk away. And did I mention that the decor is beautiful and they are both super nice? Craig was great about responding to emails and texting, and even wrote to make sure our departure had gone smoothly.

The experience was great, even if the circumstances weren't. The area has good restaurants and is a 15 minute walk from the Columbia Heights metro stop. The space would be great for a couple, or travelers who need separate spaces -- as was the case with me as my mother. Outside is gorgeous, with a full living room setup, and hammock next to a lilac bush. You will not regret staying here!

  • Craig is a great host. He is so friendly and his place is clean and comfort! He provided us with lots of information about where to go for fun and food. His house locates at a convenient place, too. It is easy to go anywhere in the city because bus and metrao stations are nearby. I strongly recommend his house to stay.

  • Craig and Victoria were excellent hosts! They were very friendly, provided us with directions to our destinations, and offered advice on hot spots for shopping and dining. Their home is in a great location, walking distance to the metro, restaurants, and a Giant grocery store. I highly recommend staying with them!

  • We stayed for 10 days since are contemplating moving to DC. Craig was a great resource for information about neighborhoods, restaurants, things to do and the local culture. The basement apartment is very spacious and has plenty of natural light. The upstairs kitchen had all the items we needed to keep our eating out to a minimum. WiFi was great and the bathroom was recently renovated.

The location requires walking just a few blocks to almost anything you want - the Metro, DC Circulator, bike share, grocery, etc.

Craig is also very friendly and hospitable which made the stay really relaxed and enjoyable. (Victoria was away on a business trip while we were in town.) Definitely recommend staying here!

About
Hello, we have a great home in a fun neighborhood in DC, just blocks from restaurants, and less than 10 minute walk from the Metro. I am from Michigan, my wife is from Texas, we have lived in DC on and off for 10 years. We used to rent our basement room out full time and had an amazing roommate for 3 years. He moved out of town, so now we rent on AirBnB on occasion. More about us: We both travel a ton, easily 50+ countries visited. We have lived on 6 continents (not together) We love DC, and are happy to tell you about fun and interesting things going on in town We are in our 30's, so we like to have a good time but are responsible adults We respect our guests, and expect them to respect our home as if it was theirs.
