Welcome! Ours is a 1922 two flat that has been fully remodeled into a beautiful two story, single family home. We are located on a tree lined street in one of the loveliest neighborhoods in Sacramento: Curtis Park. We are both musicians and are always eager to meet more artists, but that is not a requirement to stay with us! You do, however, need to be free from pet allergies, as we have two cats and a dog. They are all adorable and sweet, but definitely not hair free!
The guest room is located on the second level and includes a queen bed, room for clothing storage, and an HDTV with cable. We have an aerobed for those traveling with children or an extra friend. The hallway outside the guest room has a desk which is available for use during your stay. There is a bathroom located on the second level, which you are welcome to share, and the downstairs bathroom is available for your full use. Both have walk in showers with rain shower heads. The washer and dryer are located upstairs and are available to you as well.
Downstairs you are free to share the living area as well as the kitchen and appliances. We are happy to share our coffee and tea! Free wireless internet is available to you.
One of our favorite places to spend time is the backyard. We have a spacious outdoor "living room" on a covered deck, a pool, a hot tub, and gas and charcoal grills. All backyard amenities are available to you!
Within walking distance are a general grocery store, coffee shops, bars/restaurants, a park with tennis courts and a 1 mile track, busses and a light rail station.
Thanks so much for visiting!
-Once we have established the check in time, please do not arrive early unless it has been discussed/confirmed prior to arrival.
-Please park around the corner next to the sound wall, not in front of our neighbors' homes!
-Bedroom door must remain closed at all times (to keep cats out)
What a pleasure to stay at Devoney & Vanessa's place! My visit was of necessity a fleeting one but I wish I had had more time, because this is a lovely property with lovely hosts. The weather was incredible for January, which made my journey and stay even more of a pleasure, and the house itself is just a few minutes from the freeway - meaning downtown in very accessible as well as all main routes. The house is in a quiet side road, and you are immediately struck by the style and good taste of the owners - it is a peaceful place, beautifully furnished, and at the same time very much a sense of being welcome onto a home. My room was super comfortable, with possibly the most comfortable bed in the world! the bathroom/shower is downstairs through the kitchen, but that was straightforward enough and I had full access to the kitchen should I have needed it. Thoughtful touches, like a basket of toiletries, show the hosts' thoughtful approach, and add to your comfort. The area of Sacramento is really interesting - Sutter Fort is ten minutes away, and the historic old town maybe fifteen. I would not hesitate to say 'go stay in this place', as Devon & Vanessa are charming and the whole ambience calm, restful and stylish. Thank you!
It was such a pleasure to be welcomed into Devoney and Vanessa's home. We were greeted with a very thoughtful gift basket and were given the perfect dose of privacy and company. Their backyard is beautiful and was exactly what we needed after a long day in meetings. Their house is perfectly located near a running trail and yummy places to eat. Devoney and Vanessa were so welcoming to us that we hope to go back again. Thank you for everything! =)
Any question that I had was answered. I was able to both visit with them or stay in my room with no problem either way. Quiet family neighborhood. The home was so much better than a hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
Vanessa and Devoney were great hosts. The place was warm and welcoming, nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a great place to stay and enjoy Sacramento from.
Devoney and Vanessa were wonderful hosts! They were very welcoming and both greeted us at the door. They had a playful cat and friendly dog. The room was very warm and big. They provided us with clean soft towels and the bathroom was also very clean.
My son and I traveled to Sacramento for his soccer tournament. So we were gone most of the day. So it was very warm and comforting to stay at their place.
The neighborhood felt very safe and parking was easy to find. It was also within walking distance to the stores. We didn't have time to check it out but we a saw a lot of Mexican restaurants and stores.
Devoney and Vanessa were very welcoming. I was only here one night but everything was provided to us and the decor and ambiance of the room made it comfortable and cozy. Would definitely be back if I was in the area.
Devoney and Vanessa were wonderful hostesses! The house was great and loved the pool! It was clean and well appointed. The backyard was wonderful! Pangaea Bier Cafe, a short walk from the house is a must. Great food and beer menu.
We are originally from California but spent about 10 years in Chicago and definitely miss it! We do love Sacramento though, especially being able to easily get to so many of the great parts of Northern California. We are both musicians, homebodies, and wine lovers!
